  1. That's because your country is actually taking part
  2. Youth player though if we did. Killie in particular have released a good few first team players.
  3. Glad he has signed but as said would liked it to have been for 2 years. Either lose him for nowt next summer or only get him till January 2011 and get a very small fee for him
  4. Wages and potential run in the first team, yes. The chance to play in 4-6 Europa League qulaifiers before the league starts, no. A player isn't going to make a decision on their career for 1,2, or 3 years solely based on a run of fixtures which will be over before they play their first SPL fixture.
  5. It does indeed 'Flow. Thanks for that.
  6. The logo looks ok, but could you imagine having the word 'Airdrie' on the front of a Motherwell shirt? Only thing worse for me would be HAMILTON PALACE
  7. Hoop looks much better than the band......however if the hoop impacts on quality (due to SPL number printing on the back) then it is a band for me all the way One question though. I have seen a few people refer to a 'bespoke kit' in the thread. How does this difer from a standard replica?
  8. Going by some other Puma kits, basic wouldn't be a bad shout.
  9. I'm not convinced Motherwell getting into Europe will cause players to sign with us. The reality is we will probably be out of the competition (if we get there) before we play our first SPL fixture and any potential signing will know that. Europe is more for the fans than the players imo.
  10. Good shout...............or Michael Stewart.
  11. I suppose then there is a certain irony to having Clydesdale Bank on the sleeves and (potentially) a Credit Union on the front and we STILL canne afford Lukas
  12. Since he is not coming/has never been here, care to mention his name or at least the club we would have taken him from? All went quiet on the Partick Thistle keeper front as well.
  13. I'd rather have CASH CONVERTERS.
  14. It must be a good 5 years since he was with us though. Might not be the same player.
  15. Again, sounds fantastic........but could be an old story as he is in the States on holidayb

    Jim O'Brien

Actually, you are quite right. I think he will get a new contract, if he doesn't already have one. The fact Broon played him when he became available for selection (prior to the injury at Aberdeen......I think) shows he was part of the plans.
  17. Was it a step back though? Wasn't he on about £4,000 a week (subsidised from JB's pocket) after coming from Oldham who were sitting in League 1? With those wages and the higher exposure I'd say it was a wee step up. Followed by another step up to Derby.
  18. Best of luck to the lad, indeed.
  19. So how did people enjoy Sunday night? I had sponsored Yass' away shirt but was informed by the club that his shirts are AWOL Maybe a bit like the guy himself at times. Ended up getting a pick of any other away jersey. As Lukas wasn't there I went for one of Hateley's. Think I did ok out of that Lukas' top from the 6-6 draw being up for auction was a wee surprise. Was going to bid £200 for it but it was at £400 before I got a bloody chance to bid. Anybody on here 'win' this? Players were all in good spirits (who wouldn't be with the time off they have coming up) and TC was as brutally honest and funny as usual. "So Stewart (Kerr)......do you think we will find a buyer for Fraser in the summer". Craig Brown's story about Archie Knox losing the rag during a game of wheelchair fitba was a belter. Fair bit of money made by the club on the night (£1,400 I think) due to auctions and raffles. I believe Brazilian is looking to organise another sponsorship for next season. Maybe if we start it soon enough and get enough 'donations' we could maybe sponsor a home AND away top this year.

    Europa

I'm taking a wee gamble. I know we aren't there yet but I have provisionally asked for 21/22/23 of July off work. County win the Cup and it can always be cancelled no worries. The only chance I have of getting time off is by putting it in as quick as possible. Against Nancy, Flamurtari, and Steau Bucharest our first match was away from home. One out of Four Euro ties has seen us start in Scotland. Due to that info and the law of averages, I have decided to gamble on us being at home in the first game and away on the second. Now, if we do get into Europe we have to hope that there is going to be a clear winner in the first round after the first leg because as Frazzle says 1 week is hardly enough time to arrange things.
  21. I think if Boyle fancied investing money and taking a calculated 'gamble' on Lukas, £300,000 in installments (Hopefully sig him for 3 years and sell him on in 2 years for £500,000-£600,000) could see us make a healthy profit on him. However it IS a gamble as the lad could get a permanent injury and we could be stuffed. His wages would also be a MASSIVE stumbling point for us as well.
  22. I generally think McGhee turns any 'result' or positive into being a creation due to his skill/hard work/intelligence* *arrogance
  23. Mixed emotions for me. I genuinely dislike this time of year due to the season being over. I even dislike International weekends as it usually means two weeks without a game. However, the only games I have not been at in the last two seasons have been Flamurtari and Bucharest away so it will be nice in a way not to get up at 6am Mon to Fri then (very)early on a Saturday in order to go to Inverness, Aberdeen, Dundee etc. In saying that I really hope our first competitive game is the 15th July. Gardening for me probably
  24. These match worn shirts or unworn player issued shirts?
