    Our Record

In circumstances like this the club should be looking to drop £5/£7 of the entrance price to try and get people through theturnstyles. I expect St Mirren will bring a very low away support and it wouldn't surprise me if it is just the Motherwell season ticket holders in attendance as well. EDIT: For the record I DESPISE these 1230 kilck offs as well. Hopeless.
  2. I think Frazzle and Big Stall both make valid points. We are in a very similar position to Hearts and I wouldn't say their season was over. They are out both domestic cups (and Europe ) and only 4 or so points above us in the league. If we beat St Mirren and Rangers beat the Jambos at Ibrox then that opens us up for a run at 5th place and potentially a Europa League Qualifying Round run like this season. If however we keep up the same inconsistency no chance. One win in our last ten isn't good enough and could see us drop to 10th/11th position, if it continues, by the end of the season. Not excitement I want at all. If we go on runs of 1 win in every 3/4 matches then as long as some of them are draws we won't get caught up in the relegation mire but we will find ourselves in a 7th/8th place no mans land and our season will indeed fade away quite quickly. As has been said in every match thread in the last two months the next four games are crucial. St Mirren at home, Falkirk away, Aberdeen away, and Accies at home (this WILL happen on the 6th Feb. Certain of it). Four teams as inconsistent as ourselves. 7, 8, or, 9 points from these games would not be bad at all. 12 points gained (unlikely I know)and not only are we pretty much safe from relegation (Would give us 35 points and I'm pretty sure the record for going down was set by ICT last season at 34 points) but well in for a 5th place finish. Right now I'd be delighted with 8/9 points from the above.

    Our Record

By recent standards the 3-3 draw earlier in the season was a belter.
  4. As pointed out to me in another thread our best chance is finishing 5th with the Scottish Cup Final being contested by two teams from the top four in the SPL.
  5. Aye, as much as I HATE to say it but you have to be impressed by how Accies have equipped themselves against Rangers in the three games they have played them this month.

I stand corrected mate. Either what I read was inaccurate or I dreamt reading it My excuse and I'm sticking to it. Traffic, I'd imagine it is an attempt to get fans to part with cash not long after Xmas/New Year. Certainly haven't heard any rumours of a new kit/supplier for next year. Yet.

A point I was going to make. Think we have a good record on this channel. What is our ESPN record? Is this our first match on the channel?

I personally think both will move on in the summer. Will be to the benefit of both players and the club.
  9. You're right. Thinking about it probably the reason why, over two weeks on, no rearranged date for the fixture has been announced. I'd imagine the SPL were seeing how Motherwell and Accies did in the cup. Looks like we have made scheduling a date for them very easy. I'd expect this to be announced tomorrow afternoon at the latest (all pending Accies getting pumped of course ).
  10. I think he needs to get into FP asap and make some kind of decision. As soon as possible. Maybe the decision has been made behind closed doors but why we don't know I haven't a clue.
  11. Whilst I agree with you weeyin (especailly the highlighted part), I think that loses some of its validity now when we could find ourselves saying the exact same thing in the summer. Again. New manager and backroom staff, Craigan, Lasley, Reynolds, O'Brien, Lukas, Ruddy, Hateley, Coke all potentially away and the possibility of filling their spaces with English lower league unknowns. Kind of sounds familiar.
  12. The match with Falkirk takes place on an "official" match date in the SPL calendar so that has no chance of happening, Frazzle.
  13. Not this year we didnae. Kind of
  14. Might have been mentioned in the Killie thread as I haven't had a chance to go right through that one (if it is, apologies)but on Saturday, Brown mentioned that Boyle was on a cruise and comes back on Monday. Also just heard on Sky Sports News that Brown has "apologised" to Boyle for Motherwell's Scottish Cup exit to "lowere league" Inverness. So, why no statement now that Boyle is back? All the fans want to hear is a) Brown is the manager till the end of the season b) Brown is now the permanent manager c) we are now accepting applications for the job of Motherwell manager. A bit of stability in the situation for the fans would be good. I'm still unsure why we don't have a full picture of what is happening........especially in the wake of last night.
  15. Also prevents the horrid situation where we have a Saturday off and everybody else sems to be playing
  16. I saw it as 4-1-4-1 or 4-5-1. Lukas was up there end on his own in the first half. Why we didn't go two up front I don't know. Why we changed the team from Saturday I also don't know. Reading back on this thread is comedy gold though. Some high emotions running last night. Similar to fans at the game. We are truly a starnge bunch. Saw TWO differnt barneys between the fans at the game and that was before we were even getting best. I'm sure one of them was when an older guy took offence at Mo Malpas getting slated!!!
  17. Ahhhhhh! Cheers bud. So at this point we are looking for a 5th place finish (at least ) and something similar to an OF final.

I went for Jamie Murphy. Thought he looked good when he came on.
  19. Was thinking about this on way home last night. Seems the most sensible and logical thing to do and something that should be welcolmed. Sure the SPL will schedule it for a Tuesday night right enough Any rulings about SPL matches taking place the same day as Scottish Cup ties?
  20. The extra revenue for the club and the excitement of a GOOD cup run would have been great. Being out of the cup at this stage is a bit of a disaster all round. Went to the game and whilst I was very disappointed I was not in the slightest bit surprised. Unless my maths are wrong then the following is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE; Out of our last FIVE Scottish Cup exits, only ONE has been at the hands of another SPL club What we have to aim for now is a top 6 finish. No way is the team good/consistent enough to finish in fourth place (people are mentioning a fifth place finish for Europe but I am certain that was just last year) and relegation (at this stage) looks unlikely as you would need to see Hamilton, Killie, and Falkikrk all go on good runs and us to totally collapse. Not going to happen. Best we can get is 5th/6th place finish and a seeded place in next year's CIS Cup......so we can get an easy lower division draw
  21. That's an interesting stat. Anyone confirm it? Could be a hard one to prove.
  22. Obviously in the minority here but I am "undecided". Would like to se how we get on tonight, Saturday against St Mirren and next Wednesday against Falkirk. It would give us some idea how the team are progressing. Happy with him to get the job till May.......not sure after that. Yet.
