God no, gav. I'd have this first (if Jennings not available and if we are going to start with a 4-2-3-1); Fraser Saunders Craigan Reynolds Hammell Forbes Lasley O'Brien Fitzpatrick Slane McHugh I don't see why we should waste jerseys on McGarry or Sutton. There is still enough experience in that team. In a previous post I said I'd bring McHugh on for Sutton in we were in a two goal lead. I was shot down. Now I'd say I'd give McHugh the full game. EDIT: Anyone else notice Yogi Hughes up the back of the West Stand tonight? Fair play to him getting some early homework in.

Just wondering who won the two season tickets, Signed pro home top and £100 worth of Canterbury gear? The winners were to be notified on Friday 26th June although I haven't seen it mentioned/announced ANYWHERE!! Someone must have heard something...............

Paul Slane for me. Showed talent and workrate. Take note O'Brien ya greedy git.
-
I'm loving your enthusiams guys and i PRAY you are right but they will put 11 guys behind the ball and as evidenced tonight time waste like hell. We will have the EXACT same team. I really can't see it.

That wasn't SPL or UEFA numbers I don't think. Looks like they were just bought out of a sports shop. Very square looking they were too.
-
O'Brien looked great at the start because he was making runs and linking up play well. As the game progressed and he was put in a position to do more he couldn't. He doesn't have it and he knows it. So what does he do? Point at the youngsters. Like he did when he was on TRIAL with us last year.

Wonder how Gannon will fill the time between 10th July - 14th August if the worst does happen?

I think it looks great when you take it out the packet. After that the clock is ticking on how long it will look good. Not as durable as last years Bukta kit....not by a long shot. Anyone notice the Goalie kit tonight? Dark pink top and shorts and LIGHT pink socks? LUDICROUS. Similar to the colour differences with the home kit as well.

Got chatting to a few of their fans after the game and the opinion was they were never going to get a better chance to beat an SPL team. Whilst admitting their team is 'below' us the statement that 'you never really had a chance' was weird to hear but one I couldn't help agreeing with. To an extent. They have stability and we don't. We had a team that isn't used to playing together. They do. I was informed they had a squad filled with ex English League players and a manager who played for his country. When asking about their number 4 and the sheer fatness of the 'athlete' I was informed he was on the books at Swansea but was given the elbow as he wasn't looking after himself and ahem likes a drink. You don't say!! However, our team are professionals and to be beat in Scotland in that manner is HUMILIATING. The worst result in a VERY long time. O'Brien can do all the nice wee turns and runs all he wants but he is USELESS when it comes to the end product. Sutton occasionally scores goals. That is an indepth analysis of the man. Fraser fills me with dread. (WHY are the goalie socks a lighter and more ridiculous shade of pink than the rest of the kit??) McGarry, Lasley, Hammell.......they just aren't fit for it anymore.....and if I was Darren Smith or Marc Fitzpatrick.......to not even GET ON, that speaks volumes. Oh and as for Gannon, I can't believe he or Ward didn't correct the mistake made at the first goal. No man on the back post? Honestly that is just amateurish. Embarrasing stuff. To watch Llanelli get a corner later on in the game and for us to still not put a man there beggars belief. I go to all games home and away, buy products from the shop, and purchase 50/50 tickets at each game. Like a lot of people on here I spend a lot of time and money supporting and HELPING Motherwell FC. I won't leave a game early no matter the score. What I won't do, as many did, is APPLAUD the players OFF the pitch after losing a match against opposition like that in a manner like that. Coming off the park they couldn't even look at us. They should be ashamed and embarrassed. I applauded Slane only. Sometimes even just workrate isn't enough to warrant applause. This lad showed that and talent. Something very rare in the current squad. As for beating/stuffing them in a weeks time. IMO it won't happen. Simple as that.

Two totally pointless, immature, game changing sendings off away to Killie and Aberdeen last year ALONE instantly jump to mind. Anyway, hopefully a two goal minimum win.....although a clean sheet is the priority. 2-0 Well
-
Good on you lads!!!

Whilst McGhee's comments are funny I wouldnae go running him down as a manager just yet. Let us see how we compare to the Dons this season first. Anyway, welcome aboard Steve.
-
Put it this way, he played half the games Hughes did last year and still scored more goals (2-1). Always was a threat at corners. Disappointed he has gone.

WHAT?? £750,000? Thank you, come again!

Anyone know how long a contract he signed? I'm guessing two years.

Crackin site. First game I went to as a Well fan; 1st Jan Premier League Hamilton Accies Douglas Park 2-4 1987. In the bloody Accies end cause my mate's dad took us and that was who HE supported. Pumped and sconed on the back of the nut by a wayward warm pie. Hood was up though......roon yees!! To make it up to me (?) my mates Dad took us to Parkead the following week to see Accies vs Celtic, thinking I was his lucky charm. I was a youngster so a freebies a freebie. Dragged out at 7-1 haha. I'm sure it finished 8-3 and McClair scored about 4. I was pissing myself laughing......in the inside. First game I remember going to at Fir Park (my Dad rarely got Saturdays off); 24th Oct Premier League Dunfermline Fir Park 3-2 1987. Other stattos might be able to help me out here but there is 4 things I remember about the game. We won after being 2-0 down, Kirkie scored, Hans Segers the ex Wimbledon keeper was in goals for the Pars, and some random burd temporarily bumped my program stating she was going to sign it for me as she was in it. Dad retrieved it Good memories!!

Tut. I wanted to see Airdrie second choice even at their own ground. I imagine the 'our ground won't be ready till the 15th' bit is their canny way of getting out of a friendly instead of showing that in reality we were dinghied by Wigan good and proper.
-
Went in for my XL short sleeve top today. Still no joy. Hope they have them for Thursday.
-
This......except Saunders for Quinn. Why play a guy, even if he IS first choice, who will be gone next week? IF we get a two goal lead at any point (and depending on how much time has went) I'd bring on Hutchison for Reynolds and McHugh for Sutton. A risk but few chances to do anything like that.
-
So Wigan/A.N Other will be at Excelsior then......if it's a 'home' friendly? Are Airdrie not allowed to play at their own park anymore?
-
Couldn't believe the pics on the main site. Bloody GREEN, LONG, GRASS they are standing on. At The 'Ark? Mental. Talks a good game I'll give him that. Seems more fan friendly than McGhee and his track record for loyalty at Stockport couldn't be questioned. Welcome aboard guys.

Anyone else open this thread thinking this was a potential new signing? Heid. The. Baw.
