  1. Very informative read from the St Mirren forum.
  2. Did you contact the Club with regards to this oversight? Any response?
  3. Might be a 'promotion' coming his way right enough.
  4. Welldaft Mk1, a wee bit different in stadia, players, position in the tourney etc. though. I attended MCFC's very first CL game against Napoli at the Etihad. £25 a ticket. Didn't sell out. Obviously finances were different on this occasion and their fanbase is a bit of an enigma at times. I used to regularly attend comedy gigs at the SECC. When stand up comedy became the next big thing and prices went from £20 to £30 I stopped going.......even when it was a comedian I liked that I hadn't seen before. It wasn't just £30. Two tickets takes it to £60 plus petrol, food and drink etc. You could be looking at over £100. Same could be said about this game.......and if you are a not a regular attendee or have fallen out of the habit that fiver or tenner per ticket difference COULD be the deciding factor.
  5. Stu - Regarding fans wanting to attend even if it is against a 'lesser' team, I think so. Champions League brand at Fir Park is a rarity. Actual numbers though......... Well 4 Europe - You misunderstand. I'm mot discussing the point that we would be looking to hook the people who attend the CL game for life or even for the rest of the season. I think the pricing might put people off attending this ONE match.....and as you say my money is as good as their money. 7,000 fans.......wouldn't be a bad shout at those prices. However, I'd hoped for a bit nearer 13,000. If the pricing had been a bit lower I think that could have been achievable.
  6. Aye, sadly that three billion the EPL are getting has to come from somehwere
  7. The fact he said Chairmen.....technically we don't have anyone in that position.....I'd say Killie and St Mirren. Both have hinted at 'Yes' votes as well have they not?
  8. Good to see the result. Not reading too much into the lack of commentary. With late breaking news with regards to Champions League tickets today I'd put it down to juggling many tasks and limited hands/time rather than something sinister.
  9. You are totally missing the point. WE all will dig deep and pay the price of a ticket to this match......but an opportunity to get cash from people they don't usually has gone imo.
  10. Spot on. I'll be there no problem....so will the vast majority of the regular attendees on here. However, I'd suggest the Club have got quite used to the money I put in to the Club as it is pretty frequent and reliable. Like many others on here. The wee bonus, the extras, are when the 'casual' or special occasion (again for many reasons sometimes not of their own choosing) fans attend and put extra into the Club. I feel this tie and the pricing will limit that possibility. I already know of a good few footie fans who had an interest in attending this match write it off due to the cost of the tickets. At the same time I'd be buggered if I would head along to see another SPL team in European competition at the cost of £30. Dear enough supporting your own team.
  11. Not any we have won that is for sure. If we had faced Aberdeen in last year's Cup Final that would have blown this CL qualifier away imo. Celtic 'wasted' it a bit for us on a couple of levels.
  12. Good question. £28? Still dear.....and it's only my opinion, but I think a Scottish Cup Final will entice the casual fan more than a CL qualifier. People tend to fly in from other countries for these occasions. I don't see that happening this time.
  13. I can understand them going on sale at the moment. Create demand etc. However, the Club really needs to hope we get the home leg first. If the fans don't bite for CL tickets at the moment (usual fans will I think) for whatever reason....summer holidays, season tickets, can't afford it just now, and so on....if we get a sore defeat away then no way are casual fans, other SPL fans, turning up to pay £30 for a no contest. Then what happens.....lower the price and issue a free ticket to an SPL game in the future to those that forked out £30? If they are season ticket holders....possibly bring a friend for free? Selling them now will be a big plus in respect to demands on the stretched staff....I totally get that. I just hope the pricing doesn't come back to bite us on the erse due to the scenario above. Here is to a home leg first....or a battling 1-1 draw away from home if a trip abroad is straight out the hat
  14. £30 still too pricey imo. Again, I DO appreciate the current financial 'armageddon' we face but I think that could put a fair number of casual fans off. I might be, and I hope I am wrong but I'm not so convinced of a sellout as I was. We will just need to wait until one of the four dates listed on your ticket mate.
  15. ........especially if there IS a transfer embargo.
  16. I'm sure that will be reevaluated if he ever turns out against us
  17. Still to be decided. I'd say Championship though.
  18. An error here or there but a pretty good article.
  19. Me tae...but I doubt Jutkiewicz and Ruddy, just to name two, fancy coming back up the road
  20. Yeah, none of the news in that STV article is surprising. Time to move on from Jennings and offer that two year contract to someone else. Finding said player is obviously the hard part.
  21. Not necesarily for that reason. Did Boab Malcolm not arrive late one preseason? In saying that I think he is off. Best of luck to him but it is time for us to be looking at a replacement.
