Lennon can't get it so the 'safe' option is Adams. To be fair though it is a good shout as well. Houston must be a bit miffed mind you.
-
An awkward one gor every top flight Club. On a side note I see Livingston are going down the 'Bradford route' of the more they sell the cheaper they become. Be interesting to see how that pans out.
-
Even being 0-0 for the first hour will produce a negative response from some people I think. If we go behind..........
-
Apologies

Discussing how well Utd are doing, that they are the team in form etc. isn't always being negative about Motherwell.
-
Nonsense. The English playoffs are a good example of momentum winning out over a team that attained their positioning due a goid run at the START of the season. Momentum is a winning run. We didn't have it when we played Aberdeen? Bar a Cup defeat and losing to the Champions we had been on a great run since Jan. I'd rather have a three point cushion than not......but that was 11 points a few weeks ago and I'd rather have their form and momentum than hours. Lets not forget that as well as being six points clear on Saturday night we could well be sitting in fourth due to our inferior goal difference. As I have said fourth is not a disaster but we still need to aim for third. The fact Dun Utd are the form team in the Country right now shows that we will need to up our game considerably.
-
So the last three months is meaningless yet you are comparing their last four games against, not our last four games, but the opposition and get it wrong when we couldn't beat Hibs two weeks ago? Two of the four teams you mentioned dumped us out of both Cups but that is equally as irrelevant. Momentum is everything at this stage of the season. They have it. We don't.
-
There is currently nothing to suggest that Dundee United will bottle the run in. So what if Aberdeen beat them. Go back and check their results for the last three months.
-
Aye, but the point was about Lennon sending out his strongest team. That wisnae it and if that Celtic X1 turns up at Tannadice I fancy Utd for a point.
-
I would say he didn't put his strongest team out yesterday. We never took advantage of that.
-
To be honest if Celtic are going to 'experiment' with Youth players in the run in (except against Rangers) then I think they will get beat before the end of the season. I'm hoping for a strong Celtic side turning out at Tannadice.

fatcalf and johnstone......aye. Spot on.

Granted, but I'm talking about reflecting on a league table on the 14th May and one that shows Dun Utd above us. A hypothetical situation but a real possibility. If that is the case I don't think we can argue that they were better than us and they deserve to be there. If that happens.
-
You can analyse indivividuals all day long but they are winning games as a TEAM right now and are better than us as a TEAM at this time. That is the only real stat you need to look at and the only one that will matter if they are 3rd come the evening of 13th May.
-
Aye, failed to get that spot to arguably a BETTER team over the course of a season but succeeded in getting fourth, a Europa League spot, and another top six. Agaun, hardly a season that compares to, since you quoted him in another post, Malpas.
-
Why because they gained more points than us over a 38 game run? That means they were poor at the start (they were) and we were poor at the end (we are). If they finish 3rd they have been better than us. Despite their debts they have a bigger and better squad. They have the SPLs leading goalscorer (or thereabouts). They have been able to defeat the OF this season. Again, disappointing but not a failure.
-
Fitba is dead simple isn't it. Again, very selective. Dun Utd had amajor rebuilding job (like St Johnstone) so it can't be that they actually improved on what they already had. Shrewd business and good management from Houston and McInnes. Aberdeen and Hibs are crap but a few better choices in the market and who knows. Even though we were able to keep the same squad for the first time in quite a whike thatcame with zero guarantees. We have STILL done well to be where we are and hopefully we end where we are right now. We finish 4th and what the season is looked on as one of failure? Nah. Missed oppourtunity but not failure.
-
If we don't get third it WILL be very disappointing but 'just' getting a Europa League place will hardly be failure. To suggest otherwise is daft......like the vast majority of your selective opinions.
-
Spot on. CL or nothing from here on in. Total and utter diaster. Come the end of the season every team outside of Celtic and potentially Dundee United would swap places with us in a heartbeat. You realise this isnae a Rangers or Dunfermline forum right? That's something to be fed up over. Our predicament isnae. No' really. Even 'failure' is a success.
-
If that IS the case then it is beyond gutted. Especially if we would be seeded in the Europa League Play Off round.
-
It would appear in some media outlets that Dun Utd are the favourites for that Champions League berth. If they finish third they deserve it as they have been on a fantastic run these last few months. In saying that it will be a MASSIVE disappointment to us....but we should hopefully console ourselves with Europa League football if the 'worst' happens. Dun Utd having an early kick off on Saturday is a bonus for them in my opinion. They are the form side and coping better than us with the pressure and they know a win will put them on third on goal difference. Motherwell going in to that game in fourth puts a fair bit of pressure on us. A win secures Europa League football in my mind and either reopens a three point advantage over United or extends it to six. Eight clear of St Johnstone with three to play? See yese. A massive carrot right there. 2-1 us. Very, very, nervy victory. Fifth will get you into Europe as well won't it? Slightly off topic but if we are faced with Champions League football against the likes of Benfica (oot!) and no drop down into the Europa League, I think I'd rather have a round or two in our old pal and another shot at the Play Off round. Might be alone in that though. Fourth, like finishing 6th to Hibs 5th a few seasons ago, might actually turn out to be a blessing in disguise.
-
I agree with some of your points about him but that reply is selective and laughable.
-
I was in the POD Stand today and I have to say it was better than the last time they visited. At least, as far as I could see, they at least stayed to 'their' sections of the POD Stand. Others might report differently......but I hope not.
-
Way too many decisions for and against over a season to single anything out. In my opinion if we finish fourth it will be because, in the end, Dun Utd had possibly amongst other things the bottle and mental strength and we didn't. Lets hope it is the exact opposite.
