  1. Counting chickens. That means very little in realtion to our game in two weeks. We didn't show up against Killie with the best part of their first eleven missing. Hibs have proven a handful for us this season and the game ob the 8th will be no different.
  2. Utterly woeful. We were murder. We played as if it was a preseason friendly until they scored. When they scored though they were easily the best team and there only looked one winner. Officials were poor and for me the guard of honour shouldn't have happened. Just far too much respect given to them imo. Champions League? We need to concern ourself with securing third place first. Utd look strong and St Johnstone have a game in hand. If Hammell and Jennings are out (Lasley as well?) then I think the poor run against Rangers will continue. One of the worst performances of the season but they will need to bounce back immeadiately.
  3. The same guy that personally congratulated Ross County staff on air for getting into Europe, minutes after beating Celtic in the Scottish Cup SF. I'll need another source before I believe it.
  4. I'd be amazed if they had 10,000 fans today. I'd be utterly speechless if they reached the top six.
  5. In the final of the Cup? Celtic play Hearts in the SF.
  6. No reason why we couldn't get him on a two year deal. Would certainly benefit Player (wee wage rise and he seems happy and settled) and Club (option to sell next Summer).
  7. But they COULD win. That is the point. Fans believe their Club can win x trophy and sooner or later it tends to happen. Very few Clubs are without an honour if some distinction. No way were Killie and Birmingham fans thinking they would see League Cup trophies in their cabinets but they had the hope. Hope turning to actual reality then the celebration. Tremendous stuff.
  8. You are right, Tweed. A Steve Jones deflection IIRC.
  9. Motherwell aren't about winning trophies? The Club, players, fans, staff, management etc. ALL want them. We ARE about high league positioning and trying to win (two) trophies. We just haven't been able do it. The Cups that is. This hasn't been without maximum effort though.
  10. So Clubs don't have a crack at a National Cup or even league restricted Cups? In the UK think of the finalists of the FA Cups in recent years. A lot of lower league teams. If you still can't realistically progress in those there will be Cups you can aim for. JPT (massive deal to Carlisle fans last Season) and even the Challenge Cup up here.
  11. David, and we last won the League Cup when?
  12. 100% genuine. I can't understand the 'other' perspective but that's what makes the chat I suppose.
  13. Aye Every year though I (sometimes foolishly) believe that this will be the one where we will lift one of the two trophies we can realistically win. In a way last Sunday has shown me that if Killie can do it...........
  14. Summed up perfectly, MJC. Football should be about WINNING trophies. That should be the be all and end all. Below qualifying for a trophy we have zero chance of success in? No way. I'll enjoy Europe no matter which Cup we are in.....but I'd swap it for the feelings of May 1991 OR the anticipation of March 2005/May 2011 ANY day of the week.
  15. Don't get me wrong I can see why he is a hero at Rugby Park. Europe or a Cup? Obviously both (you won the wrong one hee hee) but I'd rather win the/any major trophy to be honest. Even over a CL Qualifier. Some of that is due to having been in Europe (if we include the one that should be upcoming) four out of five years but mostly due to the fact we have won no trophies of significance in 20 years. I'd rather win the League Cup than be papped out of the CL qualifying stage by a Spanish team. No contest.
  16. I think the League Cup success has papered over the cracks. Which is perfectly understandable. Easy route to Final but the win on Sunday was tremendous. However, he can't have won much more than 10 league games since he became boss about a year ago and that must be close to 40 in charge. He HAS had a pretty decent budget and SHOULD have finished in the top six. His outbursts in reference to matters at other Clubs range from naive to embarrassing to obvious mind games (announced as such after they have worked that is).
  17. Mind games. Watch him burst like a ripe tomato after the game if Killie get a result. I am impressed with Killie's results against the OF this season. Very good. I am not convinced by KS as a manager. Not as good as he thinks he is and I believe he will get found out next season.
  18. Minutes silence due to circumstances of death - Aye Guard of Honour - Not a chance
  19. Clancy and Hutch pairing at the back. Not even a decision to be made here. It is that obvious and simple a choice.
  20. Cheers guys. Oh well looks like they are winning the league pre split then.
  21. No way McCall was taking off Higdon due to Aberdeen's aerial threat. Surprised some didn't grasp that.
  22. Celtic can still win title pre split if they win their next two games, we beat Killie but slip up at Easter Road. Fingers crossed that doesn't happen though.
  23. Pretty cool (although virtually impossible) if the position was that we could win the league and Rangers couldn't. I hope we are facing a deflated Cup Final losing Killie rather than one that has won the Cup. Top six pretty much gone especially if Hearts win tomorrow. 2-1 Well with Ojamaa scoring both.
