  1. Bob McHugh! Well done that lad. Great effort and commitment in the last two games means he MUST be considered for a starting place at Tannadice. DELIGHTED with the result today.
  2. Well said that man. Sadly not just in the East Stand though.
  3. Aye, shocking. Did he have a worse game than Murphy? I wouldn't say so but it would appear Jamie is 'one of ours'. The abuse Higdon is getting will benefit NO ONE in Claret and Amber. He no longer plays in black and white stripes although I'm sure a very vocal minority (hopefully) wishes he still did. Utterly baffling.
  4. Some of the shouts from the POD Stand were outrageous today. Shouting out abuse at your own is very rarely going to lift their confidence. He didn't play well (wasn't alone) but I'm sceptical of the attitude of some of the fans towards him.
  5. The problem is finances. If I remember correctly Brown and Knox signed two and a half year deals. With just under two years left on those contracts it would be very costly for the already skint Dons to say "cheerio". Gutted for them.
  6. I thought the seeded part of the draw stopped for the QF stage. Certainly last year we got Dun Utd in the QF and our league placing the season before was 3rd and 5th meaning we should both have been seeded.
  7. Would all be good though when wee Craigy reveals on Sportsound after the game that Aberdeen had more corners than us over the 90 minutes.
  8. It WAS a garbage draw. The irony is though Aberdeen, Hearts, and Rangers fans would have been more than content with theirs. I'm probably a bit biased here but I think we would have beaten any of their opponents home or away. A defeat to any one of them WOULD have been sorer to take right enough. No disgrace getting put out of a Cup to one of the City SPL teams on penalties regardless of league positioning. Getting put out at home by the team who are bottom of the Second Division? Total riddie.
  9. Well it helped keep them up. I'm pretty sure Lennon would have been happy with his return and SPL safety. Their lowly position can't just be attributed to Higdon though. Alright he was a liability when we played at NSP last November but St Mirren weren't exactly bristling with class that day or on any others last season. Lets see how he has done in general play and goal return come the next window.
  10. Rangers the only SPL team humbled by a lower league team within the 90 minutes as well. Nae 'luck' of the shoot out needed for Falkirk.
  11. 32. Old man? Come on. I've heard people moaning that Daley is 30. It appears the minute a player leaves his 20's some think it is time for him to be rotated from the team. Keith is not at this point and his age really shouldn't be directly linked to (when it occurs) bad form.
  12. Early days. Very early days infact. I still think he will 'come good'.....although with 4 goals in 9 starts I'm not exactly gutted by that. I'd be surprised if Sutts scored more in his first 9 games in Claret and Amber. I can remember a debut goal against Dun Utd, and a winner at Easter Road and after that nothing till Inverurie. In saying that he might have started a good few from the bench due to Clakson and Porter being with us at this time so perhaps not an ideal comparison. However 9 games in, we aren't in October yet, and he has scored four goals for us. A similar return throughout the season would yield a return of 15+.....round about what Sutton got in his best season for Motherwell. EDIT: I've also seen mention of Higson being overweight as well. I would agree by saying he isn't the fastest by any means but I can't say I look at the guy and think he is fat.
  13. Brown knows our team quite well so that is still a bit of a problem. I'd go with; Randolph Hateley Craigan Clancy Hammell Daley Forbes Lasley Law Murphy Higdon Humphrey (if fit), Jennings, MuHugh, Page, Hollis, Carswell, and, Smith on the bench.
  14. I think Daley looks a really good addition. Has looked very lively in his two sub appearances so far.
  15. Won 2-1 at Pittodrie at start of the year after being 1-0 down within 5 minutes. Just off the top of my head. IIRC that match was the first time we had done that away from home since (I think) ICT in October 2008 (or thereabouts).
  16. This one has got 'draw' written all over it for me. Not really good enough for either team but not a disaster either. A third straight defeat at home would be very hard to take especially with only the trip to Tannadice left before the next two week international break. 1-1 (Higdon).
  17. I'm a fan of the League Cup and I think it is our best chance of silverwear each season. Especially when we start off seeded. I said it at the time of the 3rd round draw but given some of the ties avsilable, Hibs were a horror pairing for us. St Mirren aside I would have taken ANY other non seeded team home or away than the game we got tonight. Fingers crossed for a favourable Scottish Cup draw in December.

Nicky Law was unreal......but I'm going to give it to Randolph. If I'm honest that is partly due to the penalty miss (I know a touch harsh) but if it wasn't for Randolph we could have been skelped.
  19. Utterly gutted. Thought we had won it when we were 2-1 up but the minute they drew level I felt we would be in bother. Hibs deserved at least a draw after the 90 (Randolph was outstanding tonight) but we threw everything at them in ET and looked good for a winner. Chat of Bob's goal being onside gives me the boak. All too predictable. I feel worse after this match than I did at 5pm on May 21st. I can't explain that at all. Can't even raise a smile about Aberdeen. That is saying something. Gutted.
  20. I still think moving to Ross County was the best thing for him. Bit of stability contract wise and (although I haven't been keeping tabs) I'd guess more regular fitba.
  21. I see his thinking but I still would have went with Daley and used Humphrey from the bench. I'm no a fitba' manager though
