  1. 8 players out and 9 in? Certainly bucking the trend that is being set by the rest of the teams in the SPL. You could say this about a lot of teams but what a state Killie would be in if they were relegated. No chance of that this season right enough.
  2. The Clubs that in for Jamie........I'd be surprised if we still have him in September. I think we will need to accept this and hope McCall can get another couple of strikers in. I just hope two or three of these Clubs get involved in a bidding war. £1.5m-£1.75m plus add ons and sell on would be a good bit of business. I can see people looking at Goodwillie's worth and expecting a good bit more though. Very difficult to judge though as wevdon't have all the facts. Considering Utd's position they have done well. However, apparently the Blackburn bid has hit a wee problem so congratulations, so to speak, are on ice.
  3. That would be a cracking bit of business for Dun Utd. Rangers wouldn't have stood a chance after that bid.
  4. I'd heard they had turned down £1.8m. Won't sell for less than £2m. They are seriously in debt and need to replace him with quality.
  5. As this is the Paul McGrillen Memorial Cup it could be a small nominal fee. Sure it was last year.
  6. Ideal. International week and still a game at Fir Park.
  7. Don't we usually start in this competition in December?
  8. It is. Maybe a Monday night game?
  9. Very rarely a decent fixture but at least one game between us seems to be live every season.
  10. I agree with your overall point but I think it takes a wee bit longer than 4 or 5 games. I think by the time we have completed the first full set of fixtures that is when it comes clear. We were probably run away 3rd and Hearts in 7th/8th after five games last season.
  11. Regardless of opposition Kenny Shiels as manager has still not won a competitive game with Killie....so that is a concern. I hope he doesn't break the streak on Saturday. Killie pretty much gubbed us the last time we were in Ayrshire. Could have been Mixu's last game. Totally different team, but also a bit of an unknown quantity. I'm sure McCall or Black would have been at Tannadice on Sunday. I think Shiels will come good and I don't expect them to be anywhere near the drop zone. In saying that I can't see them finishing as high as fifth either. 1-1 draw with Law on the scoresheet for us.
  12. Aye, if Higdon was booked Tokely would need to have joined him.

Agree with the sponsor's choice. Stevie Hammell for me as well.
  14. Sore one for ICT as I thought they gave a good account of themselves in second half. Delighted with the result and thought we were great for the first 45. Higdon looks a wee but frustrated but once he gets the first on the board I don't think there will be any looking back for him.
  15. St Mirren. Chick cannae publically say that though.
  16. Something totally different and for me it works. Looks Silver to me as well
  17. 3-1 Motherwell (Murphy X2 and Law).
  18. That sounds about right. U19 games would be a nice bonus actually.
  19. I'd rather bring in a striker than a defender. That is BEFORE Murphy leaves us (if that even happens). I think we are ok at the back. Maybe need a wee bit of cover on the left (Probably why McCall is keen on the return of Gunning) but we do have Page and I wouldn't be surprised if Law could slot in at the back in an emergency. Wouldn't be ideal by any stretch but things are the way they are. Another stroker please, another two if Jamie heads (preferably) down South. Getting players of quality that are affordable and are willing to come to the SPL is a lot easier to type on here than in reality. This we all sadly know. I still think though come the close of the window (a good 5-6 weeks away) we will be sorted up front, with or without young Jamie in Claret and Amber.
  20. Can only echo the positive comments that have been posted so far. The end to a great international career. Likely to be the most capped Motherwell player for a very, very, long time.
  21. Probably like everyone else I'd prefer to see Murphy at Bolton or QPR. We all know they will try to be sneaky and grab him on the cheap as well.
  22. Couldn't agree more, lads. Cracking idea.
