Cracking idea to use the shirt UBH helped design for the match tomorrow. Proud moment, Sir
With the white shorts, hooped socks, and old style number, it is a very decent 'tribute' in my opinion.
Well done to all involved.
That level? Admittedly it will be good for fitness and the likes of Law settling in further. Maybe even the chance to see how a couple of the younger lads perform at Fir Park. However, in the grand scheme of things the result doesn't matter a jot and the players will play with one eye on the big kick off the following Saturday. As they should.
Exactly. Regardless of opposition it is no more than a meaningless friendly. I'm pretty sure McCall knows his starting 11 for the 23rd and barring injury on Sat, that won't change no matter the realiatic outcome against Leeds.
IIRC the kits were out for our games vs Aalesunds but the sponsors logo was added at a late date, possibly August. For those that buy the tops (and Alan) I can see how it is a little disappointing theybaren't already on sale. However, I think that the amount they expect to sell they eventually will. Just might mean a 'leaner' month or two in the Summer than they would want. If someone is disappointed they aren't out and ithe delay is genuinely annoying them then in a way that shows a level of 'want' for the shirt that will more than likely result in a sale. Not perfect for both sides but as stated previously there could no doubt be reasons that we haven't figured into it.
Thought Hammell and Hateley had really good games as well. Obviously Law looks like he coukd be a star. Higdon still finding his way in the team by the looks of it. Good penalty from Crags but I expect our number 9 to be hitting them when the pressure is on.
I see the top the players wore at Cappielow last night is now on sale in the Club Shop. As Alan said it has the same badge as the home and away kits. Looks very smart and a wee bit different.
Agreed. Massive season for McHugh and maybe to a lesser extent Smith.....but we do need another 'proven' goalscorer on the books. Injury and a suspension at the same time to Murphy and Higdon and we would be in trouble.
Either would be a good move for Jamie and the fact two teams are allegedly in the hunt could help us secure as big a transfer fee as possible. Lets see what the offers are. How long has he left on his contract? One/two years? I'd hope, given that is mega rich EPL Clubs that are sniffing around, that we hold out for a seven figure sum.
Alan, thanks for the reply. I wasn't meaning the badge that is used on the replica home and away shirts last season (and this seasons going by the photos) more the badge that was used on the Cup Final training wear at the end of last season as well as the ones currently in stock. It is not like the badges used by Canterbury, Xara, Bukta etc. as you quite rightly said but it is also different to the club crests used on the PUMA home and away kits.
If that makes any sense
I was in Greaves Sports (home of Partick Thistle's Club Shop) in Sauchiehall Street recently and noticed PUMA have produced a proper stitched badge ala Xara, Bukta, Canterbury etc. on this kit. In fact it could have been the same with Morton as well (trying to remember tonight's kit) Could the decision be made by PSL instead of PUMA?
I can understand the argument of 'quick turnover' and the shelves never being empty.......but I certainly wouldn't buy anything with the iron on badge on it as I think it looks quite cheap. In saying that I'd be amazed if I was in the majority here as it probably doesn't bother most people.
Shame though as there is a lot of nice PUMA gear in the shop at the moment.
Aye, was very smart. Stitched on badge and it will be a purchase. The iron on badge the Club Shop have been using as of late and I'll probably not bother.
