  1. Any idea on the length of contract he signed. Hearts seem to be offering two year deals. I'd be surprised if we never offered him another three year deal.
  2. Stuart McCall on the official site; ‘Well boss Stuart McCall added, “We are obviously disappointed to lose John but it’s not the end of the world. “We have been preparing for this and already have several irons in the fire. This club, over the last seven or eight seasons, have had a seemingly endless list of quality strikers including James McFadden, Scott McDonald, David Clarkson, Ross McCormack, Chris Porter, Lukas Jutkiewicz and Nick Blackman – all of them hitting double figures in one season. “I am absolutely certain we will, once again, be able to find a more than capable replacement.”
  3. In my opinion Porter, Clarkson, Jutkiewicz, and, Blackman (when he was playing for a new deal with Blackburn) were better all round players than Sutton......and I would have picked them before Big John. However, he was a solid pro and gave you 100% every time. Criminally slow for a 26/27 year old and not going to get faster. We *might* have seen the best of him. Time will tell. Big loss no doubt but we have suffered worse.
  4. Sorry guys meant Sutts. 124 games - 43 goals. A goal in less than every 3 games. Not shabby at all.
  5. Not talking about Dundee United though I see your point but even these teams only win a trophy every 8, 10, 12 years or so. With the signings Hearts have made I still don't think they will better their league achievements this season and whilst they should get further in the Cups I still don't think for one second, with who they have bought, they will win one. Or get into the group stages of the Europa League. I can be reminded of these comments in September, March, and May when anyone sees fit
  6. Anybody know his official stats - games played/goals scored?
  7. Well I either have a crystal ball or it is my opinion so take a guess. We were one goal away from the group stages for about 30 minutes then we were two goals away from ET. Regardless of how close we were Odense played us twice and beat us twice. We were 90 minutes from the Scottish Cup but ended up getting beat 3-0 and never really showed up. One half of the Old Firm will ultimately come up against Hearts in the Cups next year and stop them. If someone else doesn't. They finished 3rd in the league this year but Falkirk and St Johnstone dumped them out the domestic trophies. No way will they progress past a seeded team into the Group Stages of the Europa League......even with their four 'big' signings.
  8. Although hard to read this is spot on.
  9. I question whether he could get 12+ goals for us a season. Good stop gap signing but don't want to see him as Sutton's replacement.
  10. From the BBC piece on Sutton's move; Sutton had been attracting interest from Celtic and Rangers but decided on a switch to Tynecastle. *cough*bullshit*cough*
  11. Anybody else having trouble accessing the official site?
  12. I'm sure he will get a regular game but apart from finishing 3rd/4th in the league, footballing wise I'm not sure what he can achieve at Hearts that he didn't with Motherwell. No way are Hearts going to end up in the group stages of the Europa League and they won't win a Cup. Decision is purely financial and can allow him and his family to continue to stay in the West End. For those reasons I can understand the move.
  13. Four SPL Clubs lose players to Hearts in one day. B'TARDS!
  14. Aye doesnae get any more confirmed than that
  15. Unless it is a Cup game at Fir Park they are usually free. Whether that is due to them usually being at Bathgate I don't know.
  16. This was cancelled for reasons I can't recall. However at the start of Season 2008-2009 we played Preston, Bradford, and Wolves at Fir Park. Two draws and a win if memory serves me correctly.
  17. That Scott Burns fella is claiming Ajax are trying to arrange friendlies with Aberdeen and Hearts. Not sure how these work financially but if possible we should be all over that as well.
  18. ......yet he is now claiming Jennings could sign a new contract by the end of the week.
  19. Same misleading stuff with Killie manager's job.
  20. Problem was Broon didnae really rate him Spot on with Randolph and Blackman (for us). Not so good with Gow, Casagolda, or Sutton. Even Hutchy admitted he wasn't fancied under the previous regime.
  21. Great signing for Hearts if true. Stick on to score against us next season. The financial offer must be a cracker to sign for a team where the manager isn't 100% in charge. Does sicken me how they carry on regardless despite their financial situation.
