.......or someone walking their dug near Dalziel Park
-
Indeed. Anyone got info on opposition, score, and more importantly players?
-
Something quite familiar about those names. Season 2012-13 I believe. Utterly, utterly, disgraceful.
-
Certainly thought we would be bringing in people from down South. Certainly is the kind of thing that seems to happen in the close season. Could be a success, could be a disaster. Time will tell.
-
Something I had been questioning myself but if I'm honest I haven't heard anything which would substantiate this feeling. All I know is there has been an immeadiate change in the team after beating St Johnstone in November.
-
Eh? Constructive......you're having a laugh pal
-
Best of luck to him. I think he will do well down there.
-
First part in bold; Why? Second part in bold; Not having other options is the ONLY thing keeping him in the team. We on here can't sign someone or try other players in his position. What we can do is notice his obvious strengths and weaknesses, discuss them, and draw our own conclusions OBJECTIVELY about his abilities at this level. I'm the first to put my hand up and highlight/admit when he has played well in a match. In my own opinion he hasn't kicked a ball since his good form in the first 4-6 weeks of this season. I WANT Humphrey to be a player. I want him to be ripping defences a new one and attracting attention from Championship manager's. Why wouldn't I? What I'm not going to do is blindly ignore his lack of form due to some personal connection or the fact he is a Motherwell player. In my opinion he is far too inconsistent and has been sussed out by most SPL managers as a fast winger with one or two tricks. Although in your opinion we have to "be a HUMPHREY BELEIVER" and give him time. How much time? Until I see something different he (along with Forbes) will be two players I think McCall could do with looking at fazing out if not in this window, certainly in the summer. Third part in bold; Crossing has been one of his biggest problems since he joined us. It looked at the start of the season he had made some positive strides in this department but now it seems we are back to square one. His distribution recently has been very poor. Again in my opinion.

Some interesting quotes from SM on the official site; "If you’re asking me can I replace Mark for what he was, at this stage of the season? Probably not. But I’ll be doing my best." "There are a couple of things I feel close to but then I look at the television and they have moved to the Championship". McCall, who saw Keith Lasley limp off with a hamstring problem, did not want to promise new signings before the visit of Hibernian next Saturday but he is working to bring in a striker, left winger and defender. “But I’m very hopeful we’ll have a couple of fresh faces in before next week.”
-
Nah, McCall will want (and deserve to have) his own pick. Again, I think it is just a money saving exercise. Wouldn't be surprised if the Assistant has been lined up but told he won't have a job till Feb.
-
I'd be very surprised if we get that many. Football was worse under Brown imo. Results were better though.
-
A fine line between showing ambition and gambling with the club's future (ala Killie) but I DO agree the club should be trying to retain it's current position. It just doesn't seem to be able to at the moment. Not concerned for this season. Accies and St Mirren ARE worse than us but we do need to be careful for next season. The squad needs to see some investment in the summer or we could be relying on another crap St Mirren or unprepared Dunfermline/Raith Rovers. On another note I thought Rangers and Dun Utd's parks looked poor midweek. I was very surprised to see, imo, that come the game today ours was worse than both of them. Just seen the 'highlight' of the game (Randolph's save from Rooney) on SSN and the Cooper End of the pitch looks woeful from the perspective of the lofty TV cameras. God knows what nick it will be in come April.
-
Really don't see that happening to be honest. We are safe this season imo. For me 6th place right now would be grand. Would be more than happy with that. We are 13 points ahead of Accies and they only have 12 on the board. No way Accies, St Mirren, AND Hibs are all going to have a good second half of the season (alongside us failing to pick up points).
-
+1 Faultless imo. His save against Rooney in the first half looked a belter. In saying that take a bow Shaun Hutchinson. To be out of the first team for so long, and bar that blip at the halfway line (which could have cost us the match), I thought he looked great. He will be starting against Hibs without a doubt.

No shake up would happen until season 2012-13 although do you mean the split this season? Either way I think we need to look at a top 8 finish as a possibilty. Dun Utd have played 3 games less than us and they are only 1 point behind. It is only a matter of time before Aberdeen overtake us as well. At least finishing 8th gives us a 'seeded' place in the League Cup next season. Yes......that is how optimistic I am about this season's league campaign. Impressed with Randolph and Hutchinson today. Imo Randolph was possibly the best thing Brown did for us. He has been so good for us in the last six months he has almost made Ruddy's time with us look average. Surprised, he doesn't get the recognition he clearly deserves. My player of the season so far. One mistake aside Hutch had an almost faultless performance. I hope Lasley is not injured. We will miss him in the centre although the young lad Meechan didn't disgrace himself. Humphrey again was highly, highly, frustrating. One or two on here are blind towards him for whatever reason but anyone objectively and with zero bias looking at him can see he has pace and one or two obvious tricks (which other SPL mangers have been wise to since Tynecastle) and very little else. Even when he does get past a man his crossing is some of the worst I have seen. At this level 1 game changing performance in 5 would be considered not good enough. Humphrey hasn't had two decent games in the SPL in the last 16 or so. If we DID have other options he would be dropped. The fact we have to persevere with him means many of our problems down the right will continue. Forbes was poor as well. I pretty much said everything I could today after the Dun Utd match on Wednesday. Can't be far off a suspension now. A lot of his bookings, like today, are just down to him being slow.
-
He'll need to get someone in by the end of the month. If Sutton or Murphy get injured we would be in soapy bubble.
-
Haven't seen this amount quoted anywhere yet. Where you get this info, Kylie? Spot on. Bit of a bind financially as well are they not. To think some (including me) were debating whether he would go to the EPL instead of the Championship and in the end he landed in League 1. Surprised a Championship side wasn't interested. Sad to see him go. More sad to hear that McCall won't get a sniff of ANY of the transfer money. Let us hope the wages of Gow, Blackman, Fitpatrick, and, Reynolds stretch far. Anyone else think this might not be the last?
-
At this stage I would take that. I'd hope with this money, along with Gow, Blackman, and Fitzpatrick no longer with us that we could use some of this to get in 3 players asap. Even good EPL/Championship loan deals would do for now until the summer. This would give McCall more time to bring in his own men in the summer for next season. By that time we could be replacing Jennings, Sutton, and Craigan, probably 3 of our biggest earners. An opportunity for McCall, whether he wants it or not, to create a new team.
-
Just reading the interview with McCall on the official site. It is possible that Nick Blackman going to Aberdeen was something that was asked/put to him by Steve Kean (because of Craig Brown). If your gaffer asks you to do something and it will show you in a positive light if you agree....then you do it. You look after yourself. Anyway, he is off and I suppose that is the end of it. Just hope McCall has lined up a replacement for the Hibs game.
-
Would be very surprised at this stage if we have a new addition for tomorrow.
-
Why do you only ever bang on and on about Humphrey then?
-
Sutton could be offski as well. Contract expires this summer.
-
Oops my gaff. 6 month contract.
