Hope so. Got a fair amount for our home game versus Odense. Whilst this match is not as unique or perhaps even as exciting (and expectations being different) we *should* be able to sell that amount. Sunday afternoon is a bit better than a Wednesday night as well.
Getting close imo. Motherwell must be confident of other interested parties. £100,000 is not too shabby when you consider we will get nowt for him in May.
Strengthen other areas of the team though?
I hope what they are really saying is "We made a boo boo with Gow's wages and now realise we can bring in two players for what we were paying him. One will be another striker".
Thing is Rex if you do go to the Celtic game you will be in a ground that has more away fans than home supporters, have an 'atmosphere' that is polluted with sectarian bile and if you are in the POD Stand you will have to share toilet and kiosk facilities with these cretins.......an accident waiting to happen. Far too much money to waste on that experience.
Hibs would be a totally different experience and probably a much better game of football. Plus hospitality will be a good bit cheaper.
Hmmm playing hardball with an EPL club over a new contract when he has achieved what exactly? Not sure if this is true or not but I don't think Blackman is in a great position to 'demand' anything. Good player but right now not good enough for the EPL. Few years? Who knows.
I don't think he will be back at Motherwell. I just don't want to see him with Aberdeen. I would hate it infact. Hibs I couldn't care less about.
I'd imagine 'we' like the idea of playing the OF four times at home over a season but not the very real threat of relegation from a 10 team league. Decisions, decisions.
Hateley has two and a half years left on a three year deal. Port Vale are in a similar financial position to ourselves. I think it is safe to say that Hateley won't be at Port Vale soon for either financial or personal development reasons.
Oh, hello? I'm almost more interested and excited about him not going to Aberdeen than coming back here. Hate is so ugly.
......and if he thinks it is cold in Motherwell just wait till he gets a blast from that North Sea.
I despise the vagueness (see above) that is the sheer self muttering of twitter.
Not sure of the quality they have but if McCoist steps up to take his place I'm sure he would be more than helpful. Would rather McCall still has some good ties/pals at Everton right enough.
Someone told me (can't remember who) that he heard Walter Smith state that he would help McCall any way he could in his new managerial role. Would rather any loan deals came from England but could see one or two coming from Ibrox in the next year or so.
I'd suggest the annual yearly turnover for Motherwell, top to bottom, is pretty high and the majority of the money gets swallowed up this way.
A football club that can't afford football players......and there are MANY like us.
