  1. If we get offered £125,000-£150,000 the club will (quite rightly) snap their hand off. Unless I'm very much mistaken Reynolds, Sutton, Craigan, and Jennings could all sign pre-contracts with, oh I don't know lets say Aberdeen, tomorrow and they could chill out at Fir Park for the next 5 months biding their time. ALL very unlikely but any good money for ANY of the above should be and WILL be considered. For a club in debt Aberdeen havenae half got some decent pocket money for players now. What are we looking at? Potentially 5 new signings (going by reports) for the Dandies already? Remember McGhee's first season when we were bringing in players like Porter, Hughes, Hammell, and had the likes of Clarkson, McCormack, Paterson, O'Donnell, and so on in the team (I know Hammell and Paterson were never here at the same time)? I take it for us to get back to the level Aberdeen are at just now we need JB to dip his hand in his pocket. Again. Also very unlikely.
  2. As said, O'Brien is up to chuckles and probably picked Hateley as he was one of the 'golden boys'. He did indeed. As for Saunders or Hutchinson coming in to replace Reynolds.........batter in. The problem comes if we have a rash of suspensions/injuries/illness right now. Especially if something happened to Sutton and or/Murphy. Not too much footballong experience after that.
  3. Plus all the stuff with Jennings. Been a pretty crappy few months that is for sure. Brown certainly has done his damage and I seriously wonder, due to the way our club has been portrayed (losing 5 members of staff plus 1 player to Aberdeen alone in 18 months) whether some fans who attend on an irregular basis have just been totally hacked off. I can certainly say I'm a bit scunnered myself.
  4. We will certainly find out what kind of contacts McCall has now. Hopefully we won't have to wait tilll the end of January to wait for any new loan signings. Too many important games this month.
  5. More disappointed he is away to Aberdeen than anything. Hope to hell Gow goes as well. I take it all this money has come out of Milne's own pocket.
  6. Not entirely. Brown failed A two word sentence currently like no other.
  7. If a half decent Championship team are looking to secure his services and are willing to give hima game he won't give our league a second shot.
  8. Didn't someone state Knox trained the players lightly in order to prevent injuries in an otherwise small squad. At the end of the day he isn't in charge of training sessions. Maybe he (and others) were beasted on their return.
  9. The claim that Blackman hadn't been trying since we beat St Johnstone now seems to have been picked up as fact on here. I'm not buying into that at all. Few pervormances weren't up to his early standard, and I'm sure he had an ankle injury. Just don't see the 'lack of interest'.
  10. I think Sutton gives maximum efort too. Just think that heis also quite slow. I'd keep him though. A good SPL striker imo.
  11. Aberdeen might not suit as a bit further away. Sometimes these things matter. IIRC that was one of the things that put Kevin Kyle off a move to Aberdeen. On the plus side it allows McCall to bring in his own man.
  12. Indeed. Only saving grace he is wrong more often than he is right. If he doesn't come back here I'd rather he went to the Championship just to sicken Broon.
  13. Also in Record. Mentioned he might choose to go to Championship instead. Staying at Motherwell not reported as an option.
  14. Hugh Keevins reporting that Blackman on way to Aberdeen. What can you say to that?
  15. Actually just discovered the 360 view of Fir Park from the centre circle. That is pretty bloody smart.
  16. Ah, in that case fair doos. My mistake.
  17. Agreed Steve but; "........it was good to see Jennings back training too". I take it from that he has been back home since the 'betting scandal'. Surely being banned for three games doesn't discount you from training with the squad.

Surprisingly, or not depending on your view, Tam Cowan on Sportsound in favour of the top ten league. Again, the example used is when we played Dunfermline with relegation a reality. Good crowd, good atmosphere for a couple of games does NOT equal a reason for a top ten league.

A lot of the loss will be made up from TV Revenue i.e. SKY/ESPN won't be interested in our product as much (less value) if Rangers vs Celtic and Hearts vs Hibs only happen twice a year.

16 team league would mean a loss of £1m per year for each team outside the OF. Would also financially protect relegated teams. Play Offs would add drama, excitement to teams from 5th place (going for Europe) all the way down to 10th. He is taking a shooing from the pundits and fans texting in.

    Doncaster on Sportsound right now.
  22. I take the 'Play Off for the SPL Title' idea never got beyond tabloid speculation?
  23. I'm with this. VERY surprised there has been no news on tickets yet.
  24. Tell you something I wouldn't be overly confident if we went into a four team play off with Dunfermline, Dundee, and Raith Rovers. In fact St Mirren, who occupy that place at the moment, would be luck to make the final.
  25. 10 team league makes it much more likely for a number of teams now. What will it be now............one down and a four team play off to decide the other place in the SPL?
