  1. Met coach and richie foran while working on the door at charlies, quinn was injured at the time and was happy to chat richie was signing autographs and being drooled over by an old slapper surprised he knocked her back from the stories i've heard. Met owen coyle while he played for us at the masters in aug/jul 2008 he had just finished commentating and was brand new top bloke. Met stevie kirk and played up front with him on the same day at the first log in to learn match he was top drawer and still handy on the fitba pitch. Had my photo taken with bob malcolm at the open day and he was a lot shorter and very quiet totally unexpected a real surprise. knew steven hughes from his dalziel days when he used to hang about with tommy wright. I used to play at school level with ryan grant who was part of the first team squad a few seasons back but sadly never made it, he was a gifted player but really short iys a shame as he was and is a top bloke. thats it to name a few
  2. I've read a lot of the previous posts and taken a keen interest in this thread since it started. Since there has to be a clear bridge between the club and fans and steelmenonline and FPC have been a great tool for people like leeanne dempster to know what the fans grumbles are. On a more positive front having a trust that has fundraisers and gets the fans involved with the club is an essential part of being a motherwell fan. We are very passionate about our club and want to help and feel that we are a part of the club going forward. If in fact the MST is dead i'd love to part of a new trust that gets off on the right foot and has a common goal of supporting and being a part of pushing the club forward. Communication is key and the old mst website was an absolute disgrace in terms of conveying any sort of message to the members who had paid there hard earned. A website is i believe an essential part of a trust and a cost effective way of letting members know whats happening. Anybody else who is interested in undertaking this new venture please pm me. I've never had any involvement of any kind with trusts in the past and it would be up to whoever is interested to come up with what the trust would stand for and what we would be looking to achieve for the greater good of the club.
  3. This thread is nothing but a hate thread, spouting some sort of weird agenda. What on earth do you have to gain by posting this bile, good players for motherwell always move on so if they do i wish then all the best, all it does is raise the profile of our club as a great stepping stone. Keep them coming !!!
  4. I think there is something about lucas, as a striker he does manage to get into a lot of goalscoring positions. The one thing he has to learn is to pull the trigger and stop waiting for the perfect moment to hit his ping. If he can sort that out there will be goals from him this year, holds the ball up well and with a bit more confidence he'll do o.k.
  5. Here's your answer sanitary towel Hope this helps
  6. Despite only signing on an initial one-year contract, the Londoner has already expressed an interest in extending his deal in North Lanarkshire. Both Coke and Motherwell have the option of a year’s extension and if things continue the way they are, the midfielder would be only too happy to sign. “I’ve signed one year with a year’s extension and that was basically to see how it went,” he said. “So far, I’ve loved it so there’s no reason why I couldn’t or wouldn’t stay here for longer. “Coming to Scotland has allowed me to step it up a notch, play in big games like Saturday which is also live on Sky Sports. Playing either of the Old Firm is a massive game; they are both massive clubs, so as a player you want to be involved in games like that.” You've been a wee bitty selective in your comments east stand loyal, he never insinuated at all he was looking for a move quite the opposite from what i hilighted. I'm not a fan of one year deals but if the club is able to help further players careers and has proven to do so then why not. We are a developement club and have to be to survive, bobody down south grows up saying they want to be a footballer and play for motherwell in front of 6 thousand a week. They want 50 thousand thats why the big man's looking forward to it, it's getting himself into the arena for the world to witness his talent not only as a player but as a part of motherwell. If this leads to a big move then good luck to him, i don't have a problem with players putting there cards on the table early on as long as they put there bit in while there here and cokes is doing and has done. Mon the well
  7. I'm sure I saw the Walrus on TV at Scotland games
  8. I don't know what the score will be but with us on the bowling green i expect to see some good football. If we get slane and obrien on the wings with sutton and the polski lad up front we'll definately score. My worry is our defence and kris boyd he always scores against us i'll stick my neck out and say a 2-1 win to us with Kris boyd to score first. I've only missed one game this season and feel there is a lot to be optimistic about, rangers aren't used to been pushed as hard as we can push them and stretch them with our speedy wingers outside playing celtic. So for that reason i expect goals also 3 games in the space of a week for davie weir we have to exploit that big time, he should be cream crackered !!!! MON THE WELL!!!!
  9. Stephen Hughes was a few years above me at Dalziel and seemed to be no great shakes, but it has a lot to do with that "natural fitness" they keep talking about. As BOP will tell you he's seen me play and knows what a ping i've got not many scored fae the half way line at fir park. But never had the natural fitness. All the best to the lad delighted to see another local young talent coming home!!
  10. Was playing a league game for harchester in cleland and saw a motherwell girls squad get beat 10 - 0 by dunfermline guess you've got to takre the rough with the smooth. i hear a lot of players from that team left to join ek girls?
  11. WTF is ur post all about you've tried something and failed my man!! Please try again
  12. I feel it's a bit too early to say but signs are good. Ruddy did look good against steaua and is a big unit which breeds confidence and is definately a shite site better than fraser. He does look clumsy at times but that comes with being over 6ft i should know. The defence has had 2 clean sheets since gannon has came in and still seems to suffer from set piece syndrome, i haven't seen our new right back play and mclean looked like a great prospect. Hutchinson has been a goal threat i can't remember the last time we had that from a centre hald, but at this point i'd say that defence is our weakest area but could be no worse really as we've only really lost quinn as mclean didn't get a regular game. By far and away the most radical changes have happened here and i feel we are in a much better position than we've been for years, coke and forbes have been a breath of fresh air with obrien, slane and humphrey on the wings and hateley and jennings coming in to battle for the ball. Delighted with that. Up front only seen one addition and if you think about it our three strikers murphy, mchugh and sutton have already hit the pokey 8 times between them in 9 games. Elsewhere midfield and defence have provided 9 goals a total of 17 goals in 9 games!! But we've lost 12 in the same amount of games tells its only story. It so early my believe is this team has goals a plenty and if we can get the back line sorted out then we'll be fine, but no better or worse than last year fighting for top six and making it i guess.

    Signing #6

So big lewis is good enough to keep danyy cadamartari oot the team , is that the same guy who stuck 2 in against hearts?
  14. It's threads like this that make me thankful for my piss bag, on a cold day it warms my legs during the match and no need to worry about washing my hands either.
  15. BBC GOSSIP COLUMN CLICKY!! Good to see from the gossip column that ross forbes has been offered a 3 year contract!!! if thats the case gannon isn't mucking about so lets see big giles on a longer deal as well as hutchy and slane and the rest superb!!
  16. Don't agree with this statement, brian macdonald is the youth goalkeeping coach at motherwell, he never made it professionally but was a keeper of good standard. Because he worked at youth level he had a hand in training up alan martin now at leeds, and has played for scotland at international youth level. Brian has a gift with not only coaching but people as well a totally spot on guy who's attitude is first class. Although YOU probably wouldn't think he was a good goally coach because he didn't "make it" but hey that stands for jack enter The special one Thats all i can say about that one you honestly don't know much about football and your opinion on such matters is null and void. Go back to clapping at landing airplanes!!!
  17. Met up with brazil at the park missed most of the practice, the young lads were doing shooting when i arrived saw a few decent pings while gannon was watching. Absolutely love our club gannon gave the alright nod when he walked by love the fact him and his assistant aren't big time billies and are happy for a bit of banter. As brazil said the big man said we were too late for a kick about, told him he couldn't afford my wages, which he replied we can't afford anyones!! it was tongue in cheek of course but is this a freudian slip that indicates no future signings? I'm thinking about it too much i'm sure
  18. two goals from kilmarnock yesterday were completely avoidable, i mean kk was left and the back post unmarked and hamil walked thorugh the centre of accies defence to pick up the 2nd. Got to be said what a strike for kyle's 2nd though, there is a definate difference in the quality of the goals i'v eseen this weekend forbes, kyle, mcgeady, aluko all crackers oh and lee mccullochs wasny bad either looks as if its going to be an interesting season. If we tighten up our defence i can see us getting goals with a decent home crowd. So 3 - 1 is fair enough but kilmarnock are never easy even when they are piss poor they seem to pick up points against us!! Mon the well i'll be making my motherwell debute this week an aw as a program seller canny wait lol
  19. You know the drill guy's roll call who's on there way to perth today i've got me + 2 so = 3 add on yer numbers and mon the well absolutely buzzin btw!!!!
  20. You think far too much about this stuff big melv!! I mean Gannon's already stated he likes his players to be flexible and able to play in many different positions and i'm pretty sure Tam will fit in perfectly. And like he said before he's likely to protect the younger players and rotate which is gr8 because it keeps other teams guessing. Depth in the engine room will be something we've not had in a long long time MON THE GANNON!!!
  21. I would swap my euro 96 scotland vs england program for a 91 final program!!!
  22. Tonight is a tall order an no matter what the result the boys have delivered more than i expected in terms of progression throught the first 2 rounds. That's not to say i think our team is crap, far from it but with the loss of 8 senior players, trying to predict what kind of team we'd have was ni on impossible. We've gained so many positives this pre season gannon forbes slane (holding opininion on jennings and coke). To be too upset if we get knocked out. As a motherwell fan it's always a dangerous thing to dream, all i know is this pre season i saw the biggest european win in our history who would've thought 8-1. Anyway i predict 2 -1 to us leaving the competition with our heads held high, unlike scotlands shame aberdeen.
  23. All credit to the staff and owners at jd's they put on a gr8 night for us with the burger fan oot the back and everything. Even though we lost still saw the game in full and saw promising signs from ruddy and coke, what a save the place went bananas love it anyway many thanks guys!!!
