That's was going to be my question for tonight. We're over a quarter of the way through the year and I appreciate it wasn't until Feb (?) that Les announced the double your money initiative but the society really need to make the most of it and gets some fundraising events in the pipeline. Whilst it's great that people are adding £10/£20 onto their monthly pledge I think the way to make the most of the initiative is through corporate/business donations who can donate more than the vast majority individuals can afford. Some £5k-£10k donations from local businesses could make a massive difference come the end of the year. I'd be interested to know if the business sector is something the society are targeting specifically in order to maximise income.

Had Hartley still been in charge I would have been hoping for a reasonably comfortable win. Dundee have lost 7 on the bounce and scored only 2 goals in that time. The mental appointment of McCann makes it a bit more of an unknown but given our win last week and hopefully the desire from the players to make up for the 5-1 defeat to Dundee, I'm confident we have enough to get a result in this one. Hoping Tait is fit so we can go 4-4-2 but I think it's unlikely after his Facebook Live interview just before the ICT game so we'll likely stick with the 3-5-2. A win gives us a bit of breathing space and means another 4 points should see us safe. We're also now the top scorers in the bottom half and I think Moult, Mcdonald and co can get us the points here. 3-1 Motherwell. Moult x2 and Mcdonald.

You know that anyone has the capability to start a new topic, right? You seem to feel very strongly about this so how's about you start the fundraising thread that you seem so astounded doesn't exist yet.

Another one probably outwith our wage bracket but assuming he's unwanted at Norwich and Dundee Utd don't get promoted, I'd like us to try and get Tony Andreau on loan for next season.
-
Unfortunately, I think Quitongo will be out of our range. Doncaster had a £100k bid rejected for him at the start of the season with Morton saying it wasn't in line with their valuation. I agree with the shouts for Luke Leahy. Looks a decent player.

No podcast this week guys? Was looking forward to listening after an all too rare win!

There's a bit of chat over in P&B from a St Johnstone fan about us being interested in Alan Mannus who's fallen behind Zander Clark at Mcdiarmid Park. As mentioned on that thread it would make sense. He'll be wanting first team football at 34 and Robbo is likely to be aware of him through the NI squads. Good keeper for our level and definitely an improvement on Samson.

Me and a mate have regular debates over who was the better keeper for us, Ruddy or Randolph. I agree with your summation that some of the saves Ruddy made defied belief but he was definitely more prone to a total clanger. Randolph was less prone to error and was more consistent but perhaps didn't have the potential for the same 'wow' factor when it came to making saves. For me, I'd have Randolph over Ruddy any day but no denying we were absolutely spoiled for those 4-5 years.

Neil McCann appointed at Dundee until the end of the season...

Ah that's annoying because they were in absolute freefall. Fingers crossed they don't get the new manager bounce in 2 weeks time.

Apologies Ya Bezzer, I didn't see you'd done some numbers too. Not sure if yours are up to date but if so, can you say how they compare to the above?

I think Schalk (dirty diving aside) is a decent player so having him and Boyce out would be a big bonus for us. A guy on P&B has run some %'s on the likelihood of teams achieving safety, getting into the playoffs or relegated following the weekends reaults. He's also done some numbers on how many points are likely to see you safe in at least 10th. Not sure exactly how he has calculated these but they make relatively interesting reading. According to him our likelihoods following the weekend are; Safe - 75.40% Playoff - 20.90% 12th - 3.70% On a points basis the following points totals vs % chance of safety are; 35 - 33.50% 36 - 59.70% 37 - 81.10% 38 - 95.70% 39 - 99% 40 - 100% Two wins in our final 5 games are likely to see us safe and anything over that pretty much seals the deal. Hopefully start with a win against Dundee to put some daylight between us and then in 11th.

Good result which should see us safe from 12th and automatic relegation. Can't see ICT closing a 7 point gap with 5 to play given they now have 1 win in 23. Obviously we couldn't do it the easy way but not to worry, we got there in the end. Have to admit I wasn't at the game but from the highlights Allan Campbell looked like he had a great game and popped up in much more attacking positions than I expected, given I thought he was very much a holding midfielder. He made a great decoy run into the box to open up space for Caddens goal, was in the box with Bowman when Moult's cross ended up in the net and then of course made a great run into the 6 yard box for his own goal. Essentially doing what Pearson should be! Hopefully he plays again against Dundee to give us that extra energy and tenacity in the midfield that you just don't get with Craig Clay.

I'm counting the Accies game as a home game because of the lack of travelling and the likliehood we'll comfortably outnumber the home fans. 5 'home' games from the last 6...if we don't get out of this mess then we've only ourselves to blame.
-
Happy with that. Three home games in a row starting this Saturday.
-
I'll throw my guess into the mix...Marc McNulty from Sheff Utd? Out of contract at the end of the season and been on loan at Pompey and Bradford recently. Not sure that could be considered 'ups and downs at bigger clubs' though...
-
Haha. The way we're playing probably not, we'd lose and get relegated on goal difference probably!
-
Could be total bollocks but there's a lad on the Well fans page on FB saying he's been told by 'a reliable source' our fixtures are; Killie (H) Ross County (H) Accies (A) - 7:45 on BT Dundee (A) Inverness (A) 3pm Sky Sports If true that would give us 19H/20A. Not sure how much I fancy finishing on 3 away games.

I feel like I've said this about every game over the last 2-3 weeks but Saturday represents a huge opportunity to put some breathing space between ourselves and ICT and ramp up the pressure on Accies, Dundee and County. Accies go to Dens so one or both will drop some points and Celtic play County on Sunday where you'd expect an away win. If we can nab 3 points against ICT it's likely to see us go above County on goal difference and jump ahead of the loser of Dundee vs Accies, or both if it's a draw. Hopefully our injury list clears up a bit and we can revert to a 4-4-2 with Tait at RB and Moult up top with Mcdonald. ICT have 1 win in 21 and only 1 away win this season (guess where that was?!) so if we have any plans to stay in this division 3 points here is a must!
