Imrie is well within his rights to give a bit back if he’s been getting pelters all game, or in his case, for seasons. It all adds to the fun and it’d be pretty boring without these pantomime villains. One of the best I can remember is Calum Higginbotham scoring a double for Partick in the 4-3 game and running the full length of the east stand giving it big licks after he’d been given it tight all afternoon. Some characters in the east stand were absolutely apoplectic with rage. He then got subbed when they were 3-2 up and once McManus made it 4-3 the chants of ‘Calum what’s the score?’ rang around...brilliant stuff.

Where’s that come from? I really don’t see it happening unfortunately. He’s playing regularly over in Australia on loan from Villa and must be on about £40k a week. He could have his pick of championship clubs down south, or either of the old firm up here, if he wanted to return from Australia.

A Queen of the South fan on P&B has suggested we’re in for Lyndon Dykes. Don’t profess to know much about him but a quick google suggests he’s a 23 year old, 6’2 attacking midfielder/forward with 1 goal and 8 assists to his name this season.

There’s absolutely no doubting Ryan Bowman’s effort and commitment so I would never be overly harsh on him but in reality he’s just not quite up to it at this level. I expect he’ll be a reasonable earner and with a wee fee coming in for him then hopefully we can reinvest wisely.

Your XI should 100% be the team, and I actually think we’d win the game with that line up, but I completely agree with your Tait/Gorrin point and expect that’s how we’ll line up on Saturday unfortunately.

I’d play Sammon ahead of Bowman. Or even James Scott. Robinson won’t risk scuppering Bowman’s transfer and be stuck with him for the second half of the season when he obviously wants to refresh the forward options.

I read somewhere that Stefan Scougall has been told he can leave St Johnstone. He’s not had a great time in Perth but I’m sure we were in for him in the summer and is a creative type player so I wouldn’t be surprised if we were looking at him. I imagine there’ll be a few Scottish clubs trying to sign him if he’s free to go.

Yea I’m pretty sure that’s right. If I remember correctly, you have to offer the player a contract on *at least* the same terms as their previous deal and by a certain date to be eligible for the compensation should they leave.

Not bothered about Robinson’s selection tonight. Next 3 games are far more important and we could quite as easily have started with Main, Johnson, Campbell etc tonight and still got beaten 3-0...or worse. Big game on Saturday though, if we win everyone will say Robbo made the correct decisions tonight, if we lose the knives will be out I’m sure.

The MLS season starts in March so January may make most sense if Vancouver want to give us a nominal fee for his remaining 6 months. Agree with your summation of Rose, Andy. A good signing over the piece and more than did his bit in our successful season last year. I’d have been sorry to see him leave in the summer but with Campbell and Turnbull now more established his place in the squad isn’t quite as secure.

Main worked his arse off, did well up against Berra and definitely had Dikamona worried. I gave it to McHugh though. Solid performance, won just about everything in the air (as that’s where the ball was most of the time), and a couple of really good blocks and interceptions.

To be honest, at the start of the week if you’d offered me a 1 point from Celtic at home and Hearts away I’d have probably taken it. Think the majority of the frustration from today comes from the fact Hearts were equally as dogshit as us but we didn’t have the quality to take advantage of it despite largely controlling the game. As others have said it’s now a mini league of 4 and we should have enough to finish top of it.

We came into the game more after the goal but no cutting edge up front. Turnbull and Gorrin look the most likely to create something.

Not necessarily what i’d go for but if Hartley is out and Dunne is back I think we might see.. Gillespie Tait Alred Mbulu Dunne McHugh Campbell Gorrin Turnbull Johnson Main Steven Maclean always seems to score against us so Mbulu especially will need to be on his game if he plays. If Rose is fit enough you could always move McHugh back to centre half and have Rose in midfield but 2 games in 3 days might be too much after his injury. Hearts are still very strong at Tynecastle but I’m hopeful of snatching a point. 1-1 with Main on the scoresheet.

That’s pretty disappointing. I was hoping he might have been far enough along the road that he could have done a mini pre season during the January break and it would have been like a new signing the second half of the season. The set backs must have been fairly serious because I’m sure he was originally meant to be back around now.

Yeah it’s really busy. I came through about 11am to do some shopping and struggled for a space and it’ll have got busier. I’d leave in plenty of time if driving through.

The Rodriguez thing was odd. He was on for, what, 15 mins when the game was already done. Not that he didn’t do quite well but seemed an strange player to highlight.
