  1. Agree with Superward here. For me it'd be madness to release our 3 most experienced players who have formed the spine of our team for the last 3-4 years (7-8 years in Las and Hammell's case) all in one go. Take CB for example - releasing Mick leaves us with Hall, Kennedy and Laing as CB's who have played, what, 30 first team games combined in their careers? McGhee has stated previously that without Mcmanus' presence we wouldn't have thrown Hall straight into the first team. We need to keep these experienced pro's who are still capable of performing at our level, let them assist in developing the younger talent before gradually phasing them out. If they're willing to do that on slightly reduced terms on the proviso their playing time is reduced to give younger players a chance, and at the same time work on their coaching skills with the youth teams then it's a win/win for me.
  2. No worries mate. Thanks for checking.
  3. I can't remember if it was on here, P&B or somewhere else but I'm sure I read Hibs were in for Hall.
  4. With the 'my first Motherwell game' thread on the go elsewhere in the forum I would love to get my hands in the programme from my first ever game. April 1997 I believe, at home against Raith Rovers where we won 5-0. If you had this I'd be more than happy to take it off your hands. Edit - just seen Yabba's post above. I guess by the dates and opponents we could possibly be talking about the same match. If that's the case, ignore me and hopefully you have the programme for Yabba.
  5. There's a bit of chat on P&B that Craig Moore has been offered a new contract. He's scored around 11 goals for Ayr this year and won their young player of the year award. If true I would imagine it's a 1 year deal so he'll have make an impression in the first 6 months of next season.
  6. I wasn't at the game on Saturday but read beforehand that the Society were planning on having volunteers/information stands in the cooper suite and east stand. Did anyone notice if they were there and if the quality of info on offer was any good?

    Top Six The Facts

I fancy Ross County to do us a favour on Saturday and draw with Partick. Although I'd rather we just took something from Celtic and got the job done before the others even kick off!
  8. Well society Twitter says another 18 sign ups over the weekend meaning we're now 29 members off 1800.
  9. They've been noticeably more active over the past week or so, good to see. Through different tweets they've put out I think there has been almost 100 new sign ups and lapsed members setting up direct debits over the last 10 days or so.
  10. Game on. Confirmed by club on Twitter.
  11. The main thing holding me back from joining was the lack of communication, unfulfilled promises re regular updates from the society and the seemingly ever changing goal posts. Whilst none of these things have changed in the last few days, from listening to the various interviews and reading the posts on here, it's clear there really is no ther alternative in terms of ownership for the club. As others have said, the days of individual wealthy benefactors is over on Scottish football. Therefore I've said up for £10 a month today and it really was easy and took less than 1 minute. Going by Twitter it looks like there has been a fair few other signing up in the last few days so let's hope there's some positive statements from the society soon.
  12. Something in the deep recesses of my mind tells me it might have been Cummins he elbowed. I can remember the uproar about it but not much else. Edit- beaten to it by Milo, above.

This. We need to know exactly what the current state of play is and what we need to do to secure the future of the club in the hands of the Well Society. This announcement does give me the fear though.
  14. Yea you're right! Chris Porter got the winner for us and they had a free kick in the last minute that Buzz made a wonder save from...but it was already over the line! Got away with it! About 5 mins after the game finished there was an absolutely torrential downpour as well and I got absolutely soaked but didn't care a jot! Great day!
  15. Does anyone know how many assists Josh Law has this year? His delivery from set pieces has been pretty decent this season.
  16. Jackson is a rambling, pish stained tramp.
  17. No failures at all tonight. Thought Cadden, McDonald and Moult in particular were excellent, but with a goal and an assist...it has to go to Marvin Johnson.
  18. Is Szromnik United's 3rd choice keeper? Behind Kawashima and Zwick?
  19. Another huge game on Friday. A win would likely create a decent gap between us and 11th with Killie playing Aberdeen. However a loss here and we could easily be looking at going into the split on the back of 4 defeats given our opponents in the 3 games following United. In terms of line up I would stick with the team that played last week. Laing seems to be doing pretty well at RB and the freer role that Marvin is being given seems to be working better. Although United's form has undoubtedly improved they are still bottom of the table for a reason and by all accounts were crap in their last defeat to Aberdeen. The key here could be to hit them early and try and get our noses in front to drain them of any confidence they've picked up over the last few weeks. Looking forward to it and I'll say 3-1 to Motherwell. Mcdonald, Moult and Johnson.
  20. Huge game today. I would love if we gave them the kind of doing we did at the 5-0 game at Fir Park at the end of last season but unfortunately I think it'll be a lot tighter. I would go with the same team as against Partick. 2-0 'Well - Moult and Cadden. If we win today and Partick get beaten by Hearts at Tyneastle we go 7th and 1 point off the top 6....mental.
  21. Not sure if he's a Motherwell fan but he goes out with Craig Moore's sister. Not sure if they're still together but that's probably why he was at the playoffs.

Totally agree. You saw what happened with County last year and the run they went on to get out of trouble so we can't rely on the teams below us continuing to drop points. With Killie away at Aberdeen next, and Partick playing the top 3 plus St Johnstone away in the next two weeks you'd hope both those sides won't be adding much to their points total. It makes our game against Accies huge and a positive result could see a bit of a gap opening between us and 11th. All ifs and buts obviously but I quite enjoy looking into all the permutations!

Results going in our favour tonight, particularly with Killie losing again. Not really looking like Clark is giving them the new manager bounce that you often see.
