Those dropped points have haunted me all season! If Hateley had stuck away that penalty at Parkhead as well we could be in a right good position. No point in talking about if's and but's though. With the league being so close this season does anyone think there's a chance the team who finish 7th could end up actually having more points than say the team in 4th?

I agree with those that say we are pretty much certain for the top 6 now because all the other teams will be tripping each other up during the next 4 games. I also think that we need as big a gap as we can manage going into the post split games to give us the best chance of 2nd and a little bit of breathing space, meaning the other teams will be under more pressure to get results. If we can get 6-9 points out of the next 4 games, which is do-able, I think that should see us in pole position for 2nd place after the split. Its handy that ICT and Ross County play each other again before the split as well.

Just back from Tenerife and managed to catch the game while I was over there ... in a pub called The Irish Rover. Fair to say I was in the minority. Excellent performance from the lads though, they all worked their arses off. To be fair to the guys in the pub over there, they all admitted there was only one team who wanted it and I got a few drinks bought for me as a well done to us.

Nicky law is listed as 18/1 to score first on bet365 for tonight. Reckon that's a mistake unless they know something we don't..he isn't injured or anything is he? Worth a fiver if he's due to play.

8 games to go before the split for us and March looks like it could go a long way to deciding where we finish in the league Hearts (A) Aberdeen (A) Hibs (H) Dundee (A) If we can pick up 4-6 points in our next three games and then 7+ from March's 4 fixtures I would be happy and I'm pretty sure that would see us comfortably in the top 6, as long as all the other teams keep taking points off each other as they are. My prediction Celtic Motherwell ICT Aberdeen Dundee Utd Killie

Scott burns on twitter saying English clubs in talks with motherwell over January move for striker. No names or clubs mentioned but would obviously be Murphy. More in tomorrow's Express apparently.
-
Great result and the league table looks a bit rosier now. I keep thinking though, if only we could have seen out the games at Aberdeen 3-3 and St Mirren at Fir Park 1-1 then we would be sitting on 24 points, joint 2nd and a point off the top!

Not sure if there is any meaning behind this or not but its been deathly quiet from all the players on twitter last night and this morning. Usually one or two of them pop up with a comment or two after a game, be it win, lose or draw. Hopefully this shows they are as embarrassed by their performance as we are and McCall has them in first thing this morning for a severe boot up the arse before Celtic on Saturday.
-
Hope this is true because he scored a good few goals last season for them. Seems strange that they would include him as one of only 2 strikers in the squad registered to play in this round though if a move was imminent.

My mate who works at the Dakota hotel has just text me saying the panathinaikos team are staying there and he has just taken some coffee up to one of the rooms and there's '7 or 8 players sitting around drinking, smoking and playing poker..not taking the game seriously at all' according to his text. Hopefully the keep that mindset up until Tuesday, if it's true.

I'm in the same boat here. If anyone fancies PM'ing me to let me know that'd be great. Cheers.

There's a chance I might have a spare concession ticket for the game on Tuesday. It's for the East Stand, front row, 2nd section along from the South. I won't know for definite until Sunday night but just wondered if anyone would be interested if it did become available?
-
This should look fantastic, well done guys! Like others said above the east stand is almost 100% sold out. The only seats left at 4pm yesterday when I was up were the restricted views behind the pillar!
-
Just picked up my tickets. Got the last 4 together in the south side of the east stand. There's only ones and twos left in both the Cooper and the East! Told there has been around 7500 sold so far! So it's looking good! Does anyone know if the south stand is a go-er and/or how many Panathinaikos are likely to bring?
-
My mums best friend is the ticket office manager so I'll give her a wee shout today and ask how we're getting on with sales. I'm sure I read somewhere that we had sold over 4000 before the draw was even made.
-
Didn't have a ticket for the game myself but if we were having to split the profits with Rapid, it might be an idea to take your £10 back and spend it in the shop..like folk have been saying, every penny counts.

Did some idiot not punch an opposition player a few years ago during a last game pitch invasion. I seem to remember this and I've got a feeling it was against Celtic. Anyone else remember anything or am I making it up?
-
Stating the obvious here but what a massive, massive game! I'm trying to stay positive and thinking if we can get a win and hearts do us a favour by beating united then the gap will be 6 points, with united still having both the old firm and ourselves to play. Despite their excellent run since the turn of the year I think a 6 point swing will be too much for them with those fixtures. All ifs and buts though! 2-1 Motherwell - Murphy and Higdon with the goals.
-
With Dundee Utd playing Dunfermline this weekend as well it looks like the gap is going to be down to 5 points with them also. If there was ever a time to stand up and be counted against Rangers this is the time to do it...I'm still not very hopeful tho. 3-0 rangers

Wonder who the 6 or 7 are? Jennings, Hammell, Lasley, Clancy, Page (?) and some younger guys? Would be more than happy if the 5 guys I've mentioned signed back on. Edit: is Hollis out of contract too?
-
Hope he's correct for once! That would give us a decent chance of getting into the Europa League group stages. Suppose we would be the seeded team all the unseeded ones would be looking to get though.
-
That's what I was wondering David. If we get into the champions league qualifiers and get knocked out, do we drop into the final qualifying round of the Europa League as a seeded team?
-
Excellent post mate and very well put. To be honest I've completely lost track of what's going on down at the 'Big Hoose' but this whole thing of negotiating pay cuts seems ludicrous to me. As you say they should have been shown the door if they didn't accept what the administrators were offering. Also, what's the script with these pay cuts? How long are they for, until the mess that is Rangers is sorted out one way or another?
-
Dreamt last night that we won this 1-0 with a goal in the 83rd min. Would gladly take that right now but hoping for an extra goal in a 2-0 win. Higdon and OJ.

Being a skint student I can't quite stretch to an individual membership but I'd happily throw in £25 for part of one for the forum. Great idea btw.
