What a game that was! "We want seven!" Jim Duffy's last game for the HIVS if memory serves?

We're In Line For A Uefa Place Just Now........
Leroy Trusco replied to mfcsuperwell's topic in Club Chat
Don't get me wrong. I'd still go. I'm not making a one man protest against the Fair Play League or whatever it is. I'm just not comfortable with the idea of sneaking in through the back door . Excuse the pun. Not that it'll happen anyway but I'm man enough to admit we simply aren't good enough to get in this season and good behaviour doesn't warrant such a reward. Same goes for Falkirk right enough who will undoubtedly do sweet FA to enhance Scotlands reputation in European competition. -

A horrible, sad, grim state of affairs when we are reduced to trawling the UEFA small print. I'd be almost embarassed to qualify through a route like this. -
Have to agree but St Midden asking 1 mil for Dorman is laughable as well. Produced absolutely nowt at Hampden last week and despite scoring a few spectacular goals, his team are still relegation candidates and he hasn't really done it against any kind of decent opposition. Dream on Gus ya fat rocket.

Have to agree with the new guy. This time last season his stock was sky high but the constant links to every managerial position available or pending seem to have died a bit of a death. "Found out" is maybe a bit strong but the honeymoon is most definately over. Can't criticise the guy for his comments which will undoubtedly win some favour with the fans. I'd do exactly the same but lets not get too carried away. If the FHW job came up again tomorrow (hypothetical), I firmly believe he'd be for the off.

If that is the definately the case and MM is aware of this then, in my opinion, he should be dropped for the remainder of the season to give the chance to someone who wants to be at the club. Where did I put that tin hat?

A big physical centre forward is a must. Doubt we've got the funds to bring in someone of Ports level but just Clarky, Sutton and Murphy limits the type of football we can play and none of them will realistically break 10 maybe 15 goals a season. Hate to say it but Kevin Kyle would've been a decent shout before Killie took him. Can't understand those who don't rate Hughes! Some people do not understand how the dynamic of a football team works and tend to rate players on a) goals b) work rate c) tackling. Hughes has none of these but his passing and ability to control the pace of a game is undoubted. Would hate to see him leave.

Give it a rest. Just realised that you felt so strongly about this that you had to start your very own thread. We just got a point against a bunch of filthy diving cheats and a biased referee after coming from a goal down and you still find something to moan about. Away and get a life and maybe even a ride.

Ewan Cameron is a junkie nobody. Who gives two shites. Back to Gorgie ya fag!

Nae Cant. Aw Equally Rotten!

Spot on. There probably is an argument that he could play defensive midfield and do ok but we don't need that! Klimpl, although he didn't have a great game last night (and wasn't alone) is better equiped physically and technically to do that role. The Brazillians argument doesn't stand up as there is absolutely no need to have a defensive left midfielder when we have Klimpl and Shug in the middle and two full backs who don't exactly camp in the oppositions half. We need wide midfielders to get forward, supply the strikers and weigh in with some goals. Mark will never do this because he doesn't have the ability to do it. Again, I'M NOT SLATING THE GUY AND I DON'T TURN UP AT FIR PARK AND ROAST HIM LIKE SOME but I have the interests of the team at heart and considering the role he is playing, Fitzy just doesn't bring enough goals and creativity to the team. Some won't like it because he's a good lad and he tries hard but surely it's time to cut our losses.

Can I just clear up this misconception about Fitzpatrick. I've seen a number of posts giving it the "he does an unfashionable job well" or similar. He's playing on the left wing! That's not unfashionable in the slightest!! It's probably one of the more "fashionable" positions on the park! If he was playing in Klimpl's position, wining the ball, making short passes and tracking opposition runs from midfield then fine. Problem is that he is playing in a position where you require a) a touch, b) some sort of ability to cross and shoot c) a trick or at least the pace to beat a man. I'm not slating the guy for the sake of slating him. After all, he doesn't pick himself in that position but I can see why he gets pelters cos he doesn't have the basic tools to play on th left side of a very limited midfield 4. Moreover, if he doesn't have these basic skills he should not be playing for a team with hopes of good cup runs and European football. I admire his work ethic but that's not enough and it's glaringly obvious that it's never going to happen for him at Fir Park so maybe it'd be best to give someone else a try and let the guy find his level which I suspect is Div 1. Would that not be better for all parties concerned?

The only positive I can take from that shite last night was the fact that I didn't go. Although I did sit and suffer it at home knowing that people across the UK were watching it. What they must think of us??? As for the performance. Not one player earned pass marks for me. I've seen some mentions of Hammell having a decent game but his crossing was atrocious. Certain players (O'brien, Fitzpatrick, Quinn, Sheridan and Clarky) were empty shirts and our collective first touch was non-existent. I struggle to understand how guys who train mon-fri still can't trap a ball or knock a simple 10 yard pass!! Not wanting to have a dig at guys like Fitzpatrick and DL Smith but they are 1st Div players. It's not like thay haven't had a fair chance to show what they can do yet they consistantly dissappoint. Don't agree with those looking for McGhee to go right enough. Anyone who has sat through the days of Kampman, McLeish, Malpish, etc. should know better than that. In summary, keep Smith, Hammell, Klimpl, Hughes and Clarky (not on last night btw) and get the some fresh legs into the team like Murphy and Saunderos who have shown more in the few games they've played than others have shown in their entire tenure. I fear for us on Sunday.

Quite right. About time someone cut through the over-sensitive, politically correct shit. I'll boo him cos I don't like him. If he happens to do something disgusting like turn his back on the country of his birth then I'll use that particular stick to beat him with. The points already been made that many players (including our own) have taken far worse pelters than that ginger turncoat. Last I checked, football was a man's game and it wasn't against the rules for supporters to give opposition players and fans a bit of stick within reason (i.e nothing sectarian or racist). Big Maros will have the wee traitor in bits before it gets too serious anyway!

Was at the match yesterday and have to agree with most of whats being said. Hibs nicked an early goal and basically shut up shop. Considering how many fans they had there, only one end of the ground was making any noise. Hibs look a shadow of recent times when they had guys like Thompson, Brown et al and there negative tactics at home against a "smaller team" must have been so embarassing for their support. Can't see big Mixu lasting much longer and if Jones goes they are royally fucked cos he kept it a contest yesterday. As for us, I can't be unhappy with a point after being a goal down but on another day with a bit more composure and a better pitch we could've had a barrow load. Special mentions for Quinn, Klimpl and Clarky who were a class above. Well taken penalty from Clarky although he sometimes looked like he was trying to do to much. Quinn got forward brilliantly second half and Klimpl is a fucking machine! He just doesn't give up and he has the ability to knock it about when the chance arises. Get him signed up now!!!!! Overall, if offered 1-1 before the game I'd probably have taken it but on reflection it's probably 2 points dropped which says a lot for how we've improved this season. Where did a put my passport??
-
Well said! Slimey wee c*nt he is. Back to the original subject, good offer from Cardiff that we can't really afford to reject. Ports has conducted himself brilliantly throughout (unlike some) and he has earned his move. P.s. Extra happy he said "no" to the Jambo scum!! Wanks

How anyone can claim we are worse than Rankers supporters is a fucking disgrace! Let me list a few obvious reasons why they are worse than us: 1. Bigotry spouting filth 2. Ibrox is empty by abouth 70 mins 3. "we deserve better" WTF? 4. Manchester 2008 - Scotland's Shame 5. Refusal to accept catholic players till they realised they were pish without them I could go on. Just because we give stick to player who aren't pulling their weight doesn't make us the worst fans in the league. Anyone who went to Nancy, Dortmund, Katowice or the Faroes; turned up to Hampden for recent semis and finals; got behind the team aftrer Phil's passing or sat through some of the dross produced under Malpas, McLeish and Kampmann should take issue with being called the worst fans in the league! All teams have an arsehole element in their fan base but lets get this right, considering the way we are treated by the club (i.e kicked out of our own seats for that shower of gypos, insulted by the manager, Maurice Malpish, etc.) we never fail to turn out and during the dark times of administration there were many who gave their own time and effort to help dig us out of the shit that our own chairman/board dropped us in. Worst fans in the league. Get to fuck!

Encouraging stuff. Have to agree with the marked improvement from guys like Klimpl, Clarky, Ports and JOB. Hammell hasn't really done enough for me although I've no doubt that he has the natural ability. Just feel as if he's sometimes reluctant to go beyond half way and trouble the opposition right back. Always seems to get so far and looks for a long diagonal into Ports. Just my opinion. Agree with previous posts about McGarry and DL Smith. McGarry had, arguably his best ever season last year but he seems to have let his fitness drop back to previous levels and hasn't really made any position his own. Smith is just too slow and clumsy for a winger and he doesn't even have a trick to beat a man. Just an opinion.

Totally entitled to your opinion mate but while you're defending the honour of the "wee team" this bloody tie is not getting played. What would you propose? Maybe wait till March when the pitch up there finally thawes out. This is nothing to do with being "billy big baws". I just want this joke of a match out of the road ASAP. Feel for all the guys who keep arranging holidays from work then having to cancel them again. I'm sure their respective employers are only to happy to repeatedly make allowances for them??! Get down off your high horse and look at this in a practical manner

Farce. SFA should move the game to Fir Park. They won't, but they should.
