  1. That was my thoughts also. I hope the young guy reaches the heights he is getting labelled at as we could do with more quality in the squad. I liked that he was running direct but he lost possession often if it wasn't a powderpuff cross and was getting it nicked off him. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt due to lack of game time. That's the tough thing for O'Donnell he was keeping the only genuine contender for the Scotland squad from Govan out of the side and they'll not be having that.
  2. I think he's played for 9 clubs since he left us, Ojamaa seems to always be on the move as well. Nice transfer fee received from both back then.
  3. The house closest to the Main Stand was actually sold earlier this year, I always assumed that this was the one that they had owned and used for offices previously.
  4. I had seen the info posted yesterday on a local community group who were trying to muster up objections. I don't know what it is with the town but everything seems to cause an uproar whether that was the Sainsburys down by Airbles Road, the Tim Hortons, the Ravenscraig dept and so on this will be no different. For what it's worth, I used to stay behind the ambulance depot down Shieldmuir way for many a year, they used to have a big mast, didn't do anything to our health or house value.
  5. I don't know if the club were planning to sell land or if its linked to the club itself, but I see plans have been submitted for a 45metre 5g tower which will be ensconced just behind the South Stand near the old Fir Park Primary School. From the plans it looks to be on the land of Fir Park. The height surpasses the stand by quite a large margin.
  6. Apparently both players are Barrow bound.
  7. We did have another Swedish player on a short term deal called Mats Lundgren, he obviously never played any first team minutes the closest he got was being on the bench against Celtic.
  8. I had mentioned that earlier in the thread, I think it was McGowan that booted the ball away when we had a free kick just outside our box and Collum was getting on Kelly's back for not getting on with the game when he just witnessed what happened. Having seen the reply on Sportscene earlier you do see Carroll connect with the Dundee boys shin after clearing the ball but you have to watch it in super slow mo to catch it, I think Collum just showed a red for what he perceived was a reckless lunge. Whether he was right or wrong in this instance it has to be said he is such a poor referee, you could pluck loads of incidents out of the match today but there were three or four times we broke forward only for Watt and Amaluzor to be cynically fouled that would merit a yellow card every day of the week. Despite the performance it was great getting the three points, we have some unbeaten run against Dundee in League games, and in recent times we have managed to beat them on a few occasions with ten men.
  9. He did indeed, he scored against Killie as well, signed by Harri Kampman. Sadly he passed away early last year, he was only in his early 50s.
  10. https://www.motherwellnet.com/database/player-archive/nationality/ I really need to update this list as I think I'm missing the last few seasons anyway enjoy.
  11. To be honest he hit the ground running as soon as he returned to Wigan during last season.
  12. That was a hard watch, but the three points are most welcome. It was a tad frustrating as early on we let Charlie Adam just keep on picking out team mates unchallenged but thankfully he only lasted 27 mins before blowing out his sphincter. They bossed possession and outwith the first half strike that struck the underside of the bar I don't feel they really threatened much tbh. A tad reminscent of us in the early part of last season when we racked up 1-0 defeats. Taking the red card decision out of the equation, Collum is a poor ref. It was laughable that he warned Kelly to hurry up and take a free kick in the first half when McGowan kicked the ball away and it was 0-0 at that point. I thought he had forgot his cards today as many challenges went unpunished that are usually a stick on yellow. On the red I would need to see it again, it looked like a robust challenge from where I was sitting but looked like he won the ball, thankfully it never cost us and we won.
  13. He was absolutely rotten, I honestly hate criticising players past or present but this guy used to wake me up in a cold sweat at night. Having loads of brothers and sisters it was a luxury for me to get along to games when I was younger, everytime I seemed to go he always added another notch to his blooper reel. I know he played 100+ games for the side, he signed for the club when we were desperate for keepers, despite being installed as number one initially he lost his place to Scott Howie only filling in for injuries for the next three years or so. He enjoyed a run in the team in the 1997/98 season when Howie ubruptly left a week before the season was about to kick off, we had that guy Pegguy Arphexad in on trial but as his international clearance didn't come in time for a pre season friendly against Aston Villa the club didn't offer him a deal and we ran with Woods with Gary Gow as back up then eventually Scott Thomson, but in all honestly I believe the club was really skint at this point. He battled it out with Mikko Kaven for the spot the following season before Andy Goram arrived, Stevie actually managed to grab the no1 jersey from Goram for a handful of games but he scuppered that with a clearance against Killie all to similar to the one against Rangers in the cup. Andy seemed to have many injury issues which gave Woods plenty runs in the side. He eventually took over from Mark Brown if I remember correctly which was the admin season, the following year he went into the campaign as first choice but after his Livingston horror show he lost his place to Francois Dubourdeau. He was a better winger than a goalie. I'm sorry to say but the two worst keepers I've seen with my own eyes in a Well top are Woods and Samson and it's scary that both are current coaches in Scotland top league.
  14. Thankfully winning the game makes that decision easier to take. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened should Amaluzor have clipped the ball goal wards first time. Still can't believe Marvin Bartley felt it was dangerous play by Tony Watt lol. I know it was stopped for a head knock, but these poor decisions stick in your mind, a similar incident happened at Fir Park a few years back, I think it was Ikpeazu of Hearts that recklessly dived studs up to block a Carson clearance which caught him right on the shin. Mr Madden allowed play to continue surprisingly and they scored as Carson lay stricken followed by getting carried off on a stretcher. Anyway delighted for Grimshaw to get his first goal, last year we were struggling to get shots on target never mind goals so it's nice to see a blend of scorers so far.
  15. Going to be torture this end, as no doubt it'll be a minimum of 5 or 6 mins.
  16. Why are they getting a free kick for that?
  17. Tremendous through ball by Grimshaw, but keech effort by Woolery.
  18. That must have been the first shot that have mustered up, just typifies us as of late. Thought we had been playing well on that pitch.
