Great save by United keeper
-
I thought we started brightly enough, first 15 minutes we were enjoying most of the possession and Goss was unfortunate not to score after 50 seconds. Dundee United then went on to dominate the possession without really doing anything then we concede a poor goal like that. I know it was Celtic but the winger put in cross after cross against McGinley last week, it was hugely frustrating to see Mulgrew easily outpace him and pick his man out. I would like to see Ojala's ruled out goal again as Clancy was lenient earlier in the game when United had a chance in our box with a similar challenge.

Goal disallowed for hands on the shoulders. Clancy being a prick as per.

1-0 United

Sounds like Declan G done in his hamstring for Aberdeen in the match vs Hibs today.
-
Great chance then save from Goss in the first min.

An article in the Daily Record today says the deal for Tierney has been completed and he'll arrive after Bohemians season finishes in December.

I thought we started brightly but when we conceded we just went right off the boil, all the more frustrating as it looked like a foul to us in the build up. I said pre match if we just let them shoot from distance unchallenged we would be punished and they duly delivered on that front. Frustrating on the penalty front, time and time again they always get the benefit of the doubt, the linesman couldn't have had a better view of Boli slapping it away. Even more frustrating was that Celtic defensive was a bomb scare a d we made them look half competent.

A few rarities today, a full Premiership card kicking off at 3pm and it's the first time we have played against Celtic in a League fixture at this time and day in 9 years. Cautiously optimistic about the match, I wouldn't be surprised to see a similar scoreline to the Hibernian game, Celtic are slack at the back if Watt and Van Veen are on form I can see us getting on the scoresheet, however if we are happy for them to have a pop from distance you feel Rogic, Turnbull and co would fancy their chances. That Furuhasi who plays up front also looks a handful. I don't expect much from Collum today, he was terrible here in his last outing and while he might have been right to send off Carroll he let a carbon copy incident go unpunished for St Mirren a few weeks ago, so I expect no favours from him today as per. If we take any points from todays game that would be tremendous.

Patterson has been rancid to say the least. Quality finish by McGinn but they go up the pitch and score immediately.

By all accounts Zander Clark had a great season last year and he made a few cracking saves against us a few months back but he's someone that I've never been 100% convinced by, I remember him slicing an easy cross right on the head of Scott McDonald and a poor attempt to save a shot from Manzinga amongst many other moments against other sides in the league. I know Marshall has dropped right out of the first team scene at Derby, you would think he might have been up for selection seeing McLaughlin rarely played for his team last year and was still in the squad. Delighted for Kelly tbh as it shows what having a great shot stopper does for your side.

I remember when he left Thistle he had put out a statement on social media saying how great the Jags were to him and how they were the first club to give him a chance with numerous digs at Motherwell. I believe he rubbed some of the Thistle fans the wrong way as well as he obviously joined Livingston who had relegated the Jags via the playoffs not long after the poor performance in that match. Maybe he was just trying to prove a point but he always seemed like a handful playing against us and scored a few goals, apart from the quality assist for Watt against St J he hasn't really done much for us. I don't think anyone would be too upset should he depart in the near future.

I think the 29th September 2012 might be the last 3pm kick off against them on a Saturday, we got beat 2-0 Scott Broon missed a pen and Adam Cummins scored an OG.

On Facebook earlier they had mentioned no cash gate will be in operation and they were suggesting to buy tickets in advance using the website. I'd assume you can nip by the office if that's your preference.

Yeah sorry you're right. My mind set was on his efforts he missed versus Livi and Hibs, was just delighted to see him got on the goal trail, and his peach of a cross last week its nice to see him make a bit of an impact now.

Always nice to take something when we visit either Govan or Parkhead as games generally follow the same script when we go there. I was saying earlier in the thread that every time Rangers have played us during some sort of celebration we tend to get something from the game, always nice to spoil the party especially with their counterparts also slipping up today. Delighted for Woolery for getting his first goal for the club, 4 games undefeated now, loving that we are harder to beat. Disappointed with the offside goal and penalty decision, taking those bad ref mistakes off the table its hard enough to get a result.

A bit of a random question, during the Boyle years we seemed to have some alternative badge that was in the background of TV interviews, essentially it looked the same but the contents of the middle section were different circular icons, you could never see the full thing. Do you know what that was about?
-
Yeah I totally agree, I think we have always lacked being that bit streetwise. In the second half we joined in and managed to get numerous fouls. I would love to know why the Aberdeen coach was so aggrieved at the end.

Throughly enjoyed the game on Saturday, I know Aberdeen have a new management team in place and lots of new faces but they didn't take long to change their ethos, Broon certainly put his stamp onto proceedings quite literally. Alexander setup in a similar way against Dundee, he just seems to be happy to let teams spray the ball around from side to side with chances more or less coming from well outside the box or acute angles. Delighted that we are a massive threat from set pieces these days. The Aberdeen full backs were going to ground quite easy from the get go, I couldn't see it clearly but it looked like that Ramsay went down easily just before our second goal, they obviously missed him as we stuck the ball down that channel as he was off the pitch and a delightful cross in led to the Ojala goal, nice to see their antics come back to bite them.

Ibrox, one of those rare buildings in Scotland where you wipe your feet as you leave. I know we seldom get a result in Govan, but the last three occasions they have made a big occasion out of a fixture against us we won once and drew twice (Monday, 9 in a row party, 3-3 2011 flag day and 2012 last fixture of the old club at Ibrox), so I'm hoping for the same this Sunday.

Yeah it was the Aberdeen coach Allan Russell that got sent off. Glass had been booked earlier in the game as well. Nice seeing them have a meltdown esph with all their players hitting the deck so easy during the game.

He's managed to get into some great positions in tonight's games but his final ball has been poor.
