  1. Great result today and very good performance. The thing that impresses me most is that, while there are some areas that need to improve, we seem to be adding things to our game, things that we have been screaming out for over the last few seasons, most notably set-piece deliveries that get past the first defender and goals from midfield. It is a very young team and they will have their off days, but I've seen enough to convince me that there will be more good days than bad. With a bit of luck regarding injuries and suspensions, we should have a good season. One last thing - Ross Forbes - the best left peg at FP since Cooper?
  2. We are still feeling the effects of administration. I am a shareholder and I got a letter from KPMG a couple of months ago with an update. It said that we had won the court case against John Spencer, but any money received would go into the administration pot to go to the creditors from that time. It also said that we had recently received another payment from the sale of Faddy (around £110k) and that money also goes into the admin pot, although it will be held back from the creditors to help pay the legal costs of the Spencer case. It seems that any debts from the periods before and during administration still stand, but can only be repaid using money outstanding from deals that were in that timeframe.
  3. My son wrote his letter by hand, but I don't know if that is essential. There is a generic email address on the website, maybe you could try that. mfc@motherwellfc.co.uk
  4. To be a mascot you have to be in the claret and amber club and I think they draw the names out of a hat, not sure about that though. You don't need to be a member to be a ball boy. My son wrote a letter into the club and got in. He did it for 5 or 6 seasons and had to stop at the end of last season when he got to the end of second year.
  5. In Norfolk on holiday and went to Norwich to see them play a Man Utd XI on Saturday. De Laet played the first half at left back and the second half at centre half. Was a typical pre-season game and I don't recall him being under any real pressure. Was pushed further forward towards the end and scored the Man U equaliser. BTW, Simon Lappin had a good game at left back in the first half, moved to left mid in the second half and had a shocker. Stephen Hughes wasn't even on the bench, must be behind with his fitness.
  6. Didn't see the incident, I was too far away from it, only saw that there was a disturbance, but heard about it after the game, absolutely disgusting behaviour. Anyway, the wife taped the game for me and I've just started watching it. Check out the 'Well crowd celebrating the first goal(about 7 1/2 mins in). You can clearly see the old guy and the "big wig" in front of him, right in the centre of the screen.
  7. Maybe it's like the lottery and they ticked the "No Publicity" box.
  8. Has there been any official comment from the club regarding any of the ties being on TV or not? If not, would that suggest that it has not yet been decided, or that they don't want TV coverage to impact ticket sales?
  9. He could watch tennis wothout moving his head
  10. If his mind is made up, then nothing JB can say will change that. If he ends up staying(and I don't for a second think that he will), it will be because he wants to stay, and as such he will continue to get my support. IMO the only thing that can stop him now is if Aberdeen aren't willing to meet our compensation demands.
  11. Either way, whether it's Shellick, Aberdeen or staying with us, I hope it's done and dusted ASAP. If he is going to Aberdeen, I would imagine that they are in the market for the same standard of player as us. I hope that MMG wouldn't hold of signing a player for the 'Well in the knowledge that he could get him later for Aberdeen.
  12. Don't know about the link with Hartlepool, but Paul Lambert from Colchester was definately at the game last night.
  13. 3-0 Clarkson. ya dancer.
  14. I totally agree, I'm not banking on it either, I was just posting this to shed a bit of light on the timings.
  15. From today's Sun...... It is printed in the paper, but I couldn't find it online though.
  16. Is that a lawnmower in the background? We must be getting some growth at last.
  17. I'm sure my (much)older brother played in the same FPBC team as Jim Bett and my dad was president of the boys club. Was it the same team that played in the European Boys Club Cup Final against Celtic at Parkhead? Or is my brother making up stories?
  18. Long-standing family connection. My Dad helped start Fir Park Boys Club in 1968 (the year I was born). My mum worked in the office for over 20 years until she retired. Not much choice really, but I have never thought about supporting anybody else. Luckily, my son is exactly the same, Motherwell daft and has been a ball-boy for the last 4 seasons. Unfortunately, my daughter has no interest in football, but she's only 9 so there's still time.

    Dundee Utd

My son is a ballboy and he heard Craggs say this to Levein. Levein turned to Brines and mentioned it to him, only to be ignored. He told me about it on the way home from the game. He also said that Clarky asked the Ref about his booking. Brines just waved him away. This is one of the problems with Refs. They think that they are beyond recrimination. Surely if they showed a bit of humility and admitted any mistakes or explained why they made ceetain decisions, then people would be less critical. It is this arrogance that gets on my nerves. I'm not saying that they have to make public announcements, but if they explained themselves at least to managers/players, then surely those people would have a bit more respect for them and would not feel the need to slag refs in the media as much.
