Never known a manager seem so blatantly clueless. Struggling to see how he comes back from this, especially if we get hammered.

The booing can fuck off. I absolutely hate it.

Worst game I've been to in recent memory. Carroll was particularly poor last night, his distribution was really bad, his challenges rash, and he constantly turns his back on crosses. He is certainly no better than McGinley, especially from a defensive standpoint. O'Donnell also had a shocker, bad distribution and a lot of terrible touches. Thinking back a few seasons, even though the crowd had it in for him, Josh Law was a better fullback than any of our current offerings, and that was with a defense shy Ainsworth playing in front of him. Midfield is a mess, and up top I have no idea what Shields offers aside from being fast. Additionally, when KVV is off it, he is so so bad. Only good performance last night was from Woolery, seemed to be playing with more confidence so hopefully he can keep that up. I'm still not sure why Slattery has been left out of the team, he is by no means the silver bullet, but we win more games with him playing. I like Alexander, but the football is really hard work. Is he better staying in the stand? Last two games he's changed the team considerably at half time and it's made a difference, I was really surprised to see no changes at HT last night. However, the constant chopping and changing leads me to believe that he generally has no idea what to do a lot of the time.

Ojala for me

Get Van Veen off. His arm is clearly fucked and it's costing us.

I like Alexander, and want him to do well. I am well aware of our position and that the main goal for any manager is to keep us in the league. However, I can't remember watching such horrid football for such a prolonged period, and I include the pre-festive spell when we were winning. Before our bad spell, we were giving the opposition a frightening amount of opportunities and just getting away with it a lot of the time, I was cacking myself for the majority of most games. Now it seems we're giving the opposition a frightening amount of opportunities and they are taking them, combined with football that is just rotten for the most part. I don't like to single anyone out, but Donnelly's performance last night was absolutely abysmal, and epitomised how bad we've been recently. At the beginning of the season, we at least had Watt up top who could hold the ball up well, and relieve some pressure. Right now, we have nobody who can do that, and along with no real dig in the midfield, the defense are under constant attack. We are Watt leaving seems to have driven a truck through the 'hard to beat' system Alexander was employing at the beginning of the season. I think GA is trying to find a new system, minus Watt, and is struggling to find a formation and style that suits the personnel. However, he signed the majority of the personnel so needs to held accountable.

Donnelly is going to cost us a goal. Absolutely rotten once again.

Usual stuff yesterday, I've just become accustomed to this outcome against the Old Firm. I don't even know if it bothers me anymore. Pass marks for McGinley, Cornelius and Kelly. Two dodgy passes from McGinley nearly put us in the shiter, but he made a lot of goal saving tackles too, and had more desire about him than most yesterday. Efford is worth a start next game I reckon, looks more direct and arguably showed more in that half than Woolery and KVV have in the last few games. Woolery is particularly painful to watch, he has all the attributes but looks almost scared to play, far too tentative on the ball. KVV is just useless playing that role, can't hold the ball up well enough, doesn't release the ball fast enough and just generally seems like he can't be bothered. Goss is also frustrating, but any chance or half chance we create, he's nearly always involved so I think we need to keep him invovled. Donnelly is the main problem in the middle for me, absolutely murder in his current mould, basically just a man down. He doesn't get stuck in, doesn't close down fast enough and doesn't offer much going forward.

Woolery having a very good game here. He's settling into the team slowly but surely.

We are absolutely honking today

Happy for O'Donnell, he was solid last night. Patterson is the future, no doubt about it, but a lot of his play is still dodgy, he gets clamped on the half way line far too much for my liking and It puts a lot of strain on the centre backs. Going forward, his delivery is obviously great. The witch hunt O'Donnell has been subjected to over the last few months, at both club and country level, has been embarrassing. Even the amount of time the pundits spent on it before the England game was a joke, he took even more flak than Marshall in that opening game. It's no wonder his confidence might've taken a dive.

Just got around to watching the highlights. Some laugh that Aberdeen have pumped us 0-2 twice this season. No way we should have won that match but I'll take it. Ojala is the unsung hero of the team this year, reads the game well, good in the air and has much more pace than Gallagher. A solid improvement on what we already had.
-
Found out today, or our lack ran out. Think back to the Aberdeen game, we won of course, but they missed heaps of chances. The same happened against Rangers at Ibrox, and Ross County at FP. It was a matter of time before we took a skelping. Thank fuck our centre halves are capable or it could have been much, much worse. Ojala, Johansen and Mugabi (bar a few dodgy moments) all seem like good players who read the game well, it's the fullback and midfield where we fall extremely short. I don't think Goss is the answer, and Slattery has been poor the last few games. O'Hara and Grimshaw are nothing more than hardworking utility players. Not sure where we go from here, but I can't see Alexander changing his tactics. I think GA will stick with a 433 with us defending the penalty box for large periods of the game. It's painful to watch, even when we're winning. I'm really undecided about Alexander. I like his passion and I thought he was making us steely and hard to beat, but aside from the opening game of the season against Hibs, the performances have been hard to watch. The possession we are happy to give us is frightening, and it seems like a blatant tactical choice from GA. Roberts, Watt, Wooley and KVV are all good in the air, but with McGinley and SOD having extremely poor distribution, I fear we're on a hiding to nothing.
-
Toss up between Slattery, Woolery and Ojala for me. Gave it to the Woolery for the goal, he's also dynamite in the air. Special mention to McGinley and Mugabi too.
-
Slattery is a very clever player, getting him on a three year deal is a cracking bit of business.
-
Is there anyway to get non rangers commentary? I'm just about putting my boot through this telly.
-
Ojala for me.

Happy with the points but that was a hard watch yesterday. Surprised to see people give O'Hara and Slattery praise, I thought they were both miles off it. I'm sure Slattery will turn out to be a solid acquisition, but he was all over the shop yesterday. Aside from the obvious Tony Watt, I thought Ojala was our best player (apart from his honking distribution). Defensively he was really solid and won everything in the air. I'm not one for giving players pelters too early, but I'm not confident about Woolery, he's giving me major Seedorf vibes and just doesn't seem capable, more than happy to be proven wrong of course. Still on the fence about GA, but it's good seeing a manager with a bit of passion.

''Extremely dangerous from Tony Watt pushing Sean Kelly into the goalkeeper there, he should be cautioned for that'' Marvin Bartley's take on it...
-
Marvin Bartley is talking some amount of shite here.
-
Commentary has been good on Dee TV - not overbearing and very balanced. Much better Lewis Irons hitting out with cliches every sentence, and Jock Brown consistently misnaming black players.
-
Deserved. Can't expect to win a game when the midfield can't pass to each other.
-
Woolery is murder. He's got that Seedorf thing about him, looks like he's never seen a football before.
-
Nothing sticks upfront when Watt doesn't play.

Motherwell V Hibs - 2021/22 League Grand Kick Off

Slattery is a player, could tell within about 5 touches he's a step above in a footballing sense. Exactly what we've been needing. As for KVV, it was pretty surreal seeing someone in a 'Well strip play that good, his first touch and awareness was just next level.
