Motherwell had been trying to sign Michael Fraser since Butcher was the manager, so it wasn't just down to McGhee........ As for him being 'dropped' at Inverness, that was because he'd signed a pre-contract at Fir Park. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he leaves in the summer anyway to head back north.

The Greatest Followers/Fans In The World - TGFITW. Seem to recall Celtic fans calling themselves that a while back.

Was loaning him out not an option to get him some games if he's such a prospect? And do we have a young goalkeeper deemed good (old?) enough to now be third choice?
-
Some thick sounding Accies fans sitting around the commentators!!
-
Exactly. 579 minutes without conceding a goal, not too shabby.

Any Hearts fan I've spoken to is under the impression that Ew-h*n Camer-h*n is no Hearts fan.....

Charlie Richmond, as bad as he is, cannot be blamed here. Calum Murray on the other hand........

I think he's genuinely made an error of judgement, but I'd suggest that if a linesman or referee isn't entirely sure about a close call then they'll always err on the side of the old firm. IF that goal had been given, and subsequently proven to be offside you can be sure that the media coverage of the incident and criticism of the official would have been a lot more intense than we have seen over this. Something else that annoyed me about the incident was Walter Smith's interview on ESPN after the game. He said he couldn't tell from the dugout - which is fair enough - and would have to see the incident again. Again, fair comment. Now, Tom Hateley, Jim O'Brien and Craig Brown have all been shown the incident on a tv screen right next to the interviewer and asked for their opinion. Why not show Walter Smith the same incident on the same tv? And while they were at it, show him the 21 players stopping playing and Kris Boyd kicking the ball away in an act of dissent which just so happened to end up in the net for that "goal" that he always brings up.

It's been said a few times, but that's spot on. Clear the ball and argue about it while the ballboys are running after the ball. Still, hindsight is a perfect science and it's easy to digest the incident the following day rather than have to make that decision in a split second.

I've been told that for years John Chapman refused to install undersoil due to the damage it would cause to the turf. He may have had a point!! Grass isn't supposed to be heated to the extent that has been required during the extreme - and prolonged - dip in temperature recently, but if it isn't heated then the park is frozen solid and the games are off. Catch 22 situation. I'm sure I read somewhere that the drainage system is actually working too well and taking all of the moisture out of the turf. So aye, ironically the 'improvements' that had the pitch looking immaculate at the start of the season have ended up contributing to the poor state of the pitch now.

Terry Butcher and Colin Hendry - 2 former international captains - felt that Reynolds had a solid game apart from his mistake. Granted that mistake cost us 2 points, but he was responsible for a lot more good than bad last night, and indeed over the course of his time at the club. I'll value the opinion of 2 former international defenders over someone who can only see the incidents that he wants to see in order to justify his opinion.

Ok, so you quoted me because.........

Can't recall to be honest..... Different offences carry different lengths of ban though so Quinn's red card may have meant a longer automatic ban than Coke's did.
-
Is it not more to do with an automatic one game suspension for the red card, which meant he missed the next game against Aberdeen. That red card took him over the points threshold, and his suspension for that starts tonight.

If you mean the song containing the "Motherwell" words - nae idea!! If you mean the original song, adapted to include Motherwell words this may help -> Link Would be a cracking song to have - the Motherwell one!!

An opinion often offered on this site, and in general football chat actually. Was sitting next to Bob waiting on a train not long after the Nancy game, and there was not a pick on him. If he's fat, then heaven help the rest of us!! My mention for this thread would be John Hendry, a heart the size of a pea to quote Andy Watson!!

Yes, players can leave English clubs as long as the club they are going to can still register them........
-
That's it in a nutshell - before a ball had even been kicked up in Dingwall he was up against it. As for the job offer in the summer, he didn't feel experienced enough to take the job at that time but still harbours an ambition to manage Motherwell in the future. Basically didn't want to make his mistakes at Fir Park . Many of the people who are criticising him for not taking the job, didn't actually want him to get the job anyway!!

Sorry, from your tone I thought we'd lost to them....
-
Is this the same Inverness that we knocked out of the League Cup this season then?!
-
It may be new to the SPL, that's possibly what he means.......

To be fair, Willie Miller has backed the referee today in the press stating that they (Aberdeen) were not aware of the rule being changed to prevent tops being lifted to display slogans on t-shirts, but that the referee was entirely correct to send him off.

Teletext had a direct quote from McGhee the other night stating he was interested in O'Brien..... Given McGhee's reaction while at Motherwell to Hearts interest in Chris Porter, you'd think he'd take some the advice he dished out at the time. Put up or shut up.
-
I'd be very surprised if McGhee moved for O'Brien. At the AGM back in March he wasn't very complimentary about O'Brien, despite his extended run in the team at the time. Current form may have changed his opinion, but I just got the impression he doesn't rate him.....

Deflection. No doubt he'd be getting pelters if he made no attempt to block the shot........
