Delighted with the 3 points but a poor display today. It was eunuch football at times, without even the hint of penetration or attacking threat. Olejnik barely had a save to make. I'd prefer at least one of the midfielders to try and get into the opposition box a bit more, Coke managed it once in the first half but his shot was tame. On a more positive note,we continue to score from set-pieces and it's another clean sheet. Goodness knows how we managed that though. I thought Craigan and Reynolds were very indecisive in the second half, allowing the ball to bounce all over the place and sitting far too deep. Maybe the swirling wind in front of the South Stand and underfoot conditions played a part? Still,I'm delighted with the league position and points total so far. As others have said,it's a solid base to work from but we need to add a bit more in the final third.

I'm not saying anything about Fox other than he had a good game last night, first time I've went out of my way to look at his play. You really have a stauner for Lee Wallace though, don't you?
-
Wallace was poor against a ten man Rangers side and at fault for Celtic's winning goal a few weeks back. He's not the superstar you're making him out to be.
-
Lee Wallace has morphed into Paolo Maldini circa 1994 in a lot of people's minds the last few days. It seems reasonable to judge players by the standard of opposition.
-
That's the jist of it is it not? Nobody knows nothing.
-
Did Fox not only declare for Scotland when he joined the Tims?
-
Dodds has been pretty positive about the 'Well's start to the season. At least when I've caught his musings.
-
Fox did well last night. Bit of pace, decent cross on him. It was a higher standard of match than jsut any you'll see in the SPL. I see you fallen into the Lee Wallace camp. Did you see his display in Zagreb?
-
I thought you were joking.

I wouldn't blame him for the first-it was just a very good counter after O'Brien lost the ball near the edge of the Hibs box. Yass busted a gut to get back but couldn't make it. Saunders was arguably mor eculpable-drawn to the ball and allowed Nish acres of space-who nearly fluffed the chance. If you want to blame anyone for the third the fingers should be pointed at Ruddy.

Bob Maaskant is the NAC Breda manaager. They qualified for Europe this season but were annihilated by Villarreal. No mention of Derek Adams? Looks like he's doing a fine job up at Ross County. Eddie May's another, although maybe not for much longer.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Ramadan can be beneficial for athletes. Cleans out the system or something like that.

I'd stick with the same back four but since both Hammell and Moutaouakil are so keen on forays up the wing it might be an idea to revert to the 4-2-3-1 from earlier in the campaign. Stick Coke and Hateley in front of the defnce and allow the full backs to provide width, like they've been doing, but with extra defensive cover. It would also allow Forbes to play closer to the opposition goal and hopefully threaten with his shooting prowess. I'd probably give Sutton the nod over Jutkiewicz. The latter offers superior movement but in the past two games his first touch has often been followed by a mad dash to regain control of the ball. Sutton also has at least shown the ability to score in the SPL as well.

Congrats to the boy-well deserved.

I just have visions of him scoring the winner with a late header. He's done us before. In saying that Riordan seems to score a bucketload against us as well.
-
Looks like Hutchinson and Slane will miss this one and the Falkirk game. Sutton should make it ,at least according to the Beeb's team news. Really looking forward to this one. I'm more concerned about the returning Colin Nish than Riordan and Stokes. I reckon Reynolds and Saunders have the pace to deal with the latter pair but Nish is a player capable of causing problems. I wouldn't be too surprised if Gannon reverts to one upfront,I'm sure he saw enough of Hibs in their defeat to Accies to be confident of at least keeping the unbeaten run going.
-
Saw this as well. It did mean I had to stand up to see the game though. Wonder what he was bothered about? Potential trouble brewing in the POD stand? It's not exactly the most fervent of places.

The SFL website has a link posted but it's painfully slow for me. The draw is at 2.30pm

Crosses coming into the box?? the goals came about from a corner and free-kick. Difficult to stop. The cross in the first half that Foran should have done better with was the result of Forbes,I think, giving the ball away ridiculosuly cheaply. He had a good game defensively, albeit he wasn't tested much.
-
Malaps was undefeated against Hughes's Falkirk(!) That's a beamer for Yogi surely?
-
Not read the rest of this thread as been busy today but I thought we actually missed Sutton badly last night. The quality of crosses into the box would have suited him down to the ground. Jutkiewicz still looked very rusty, there's a player lurking in there though. I thought the midfield sat too deep last night. Both Forbes and Hateley seemed to be doing the same job of collecting the ball from the back four and cutting down on options further up the park. I would have liked to see Forbes and Coke breaking into the box far earlier in the game. Still,we created a number of chances against a disciplined Inverness side. More positives than negatives for me. As others have no doubt said, I reckon we would have lost that game in seasons gone by.

Plumped for Moutaoukil. Provided an attacking outlet all night.
-
I'd like to see Craigan return,if only to keep him match fit. Maybe rest Saunders and go with Crags and Reynolds in a back four. Although we could stick Reynolds at left back and drop Hammell. Up top,I think we'd be best served with two upfront for this one. I'd be tempted to stick with Sutton and Jutkiewicz. Gives them aanother game to try and strike up a partnership and hopefully get amongst the goals. I wouldn't be averse to seeing either McHugh or Murphy start though. I'll go for a 2-0 win.
-
Did he not put one into Sutton's path vs Rangers? It bounced out for a goalkick after hitting the striker on the shin.I may be wrong though.
-
Clarkson fo me too. Although I'd be happier if Smith and Quinn's replacements weren't only on loan.
