Don't really know what to feel about moving on. Sometimes our present home really can get you down and we're all aware about the pitch/maintenance problems but then you get games like our last home game and the old place was fairly rocking.I'm not from Motherwell but I'd also hate to play somewhere not really in the town and in a plasticy, lego-land Bill Barr designed "arena", which is what we'd end up with. I've not really added much to the debate but there you go.

What are his strengths? Or is he another Iain Turner? Good in a computer game but nobody's actually seen him play. Perhaps trafficlight knows?

It'd be cool if we had "empty" shirts next season. I might even buy one then.

John Ruddy made his debut as an 18 year-old and quickly attracted the attention of a whole host of top clubs in England. He was touted as an England 'keeper of the future and seems to have been impressive when on loan in the English lower leagues. Jutkiewicz made his debut as a 17 year old and then got a move to Everton for £1m. He was rubbish in his other loan spells. Hateley was a 20 year old stop-gap signing after being released by Reading. Better clubs than Reading and better players than Hateley have been mistakenly released. Hollis is a 24 'keeper who hasn't been able to cement a regular place in an Airdrie side who keep getting relegated. I've no idea if Stewart Kerr's a good judge of a player and haven't seen Hollis play. I'm only "judging" him based on his rubbishy career record. I'll certainly give him a chance but you can't expect people on a messageboard to be enthused by this signing. Anyway, I'd take it as read that folk should give him a chance and wait to see him play before he gets the full boo-boy treatment.

Has anybody seen him play? 30-odd appearances in 6 years at Airdire doesn't suggest much talent to be honest.

Don't remember this game at all. Still we got them back at the end of the season.

Good news about Murphy, still think he could turn into a very saleable asset. As for Quinn, a season-long loan from a Premiership-bound Cardiff would be nice.

Can I just be the first to say that Hateley and Coke are both pish and won't be missed one little bit. The grass isn't always greener, they'll get found out anywhere else etc.

We might be seeded for round 3 but the variables are still far too complicated for me to bother to work it out. Still depends on stuff like who wins the Copa Del Rey in Spain, who wins in rounds 1 and 2, the finish to the Georgian league etc. Bert Kassies' site has all the teams through at the moment, with their co-efficient. Of course, it's all a load of nonsense. Just put them all in the draw and let fate/corruption take its course. Only restriction should be that can't face a team from your own country until the QFs or some such. Imagine we got Hibs/United.

Haven't seen much of Imrie but he's been getting good write-ups. Is he available? Anyone have a list or even a few names of out of contract SPL players? I'm still praying we get Tuffey from Partick Thistle but I doubt it. More loans and guys from England I feel. Worked OK this season but the short-term approach(of course it's dictated by finance) grates a little, harder to relate to players when you know deep down they'll be off soon (not a critcism of this year's team, who been fuckin' great, for the most part.) More baseless speculation needed folks.

I'm agreeing with you. Half-decent but if he was British folk would be pointing and laughing at him. Still to many people impressed with foreign names. Moutinho's at the same level as guys like Imrie,Mackie and Milne but if folk suggested them people would laugh.

If he was called Peter Morrison everyone would laugh at him. Average, at best. I mean, I'm not bothered if we sign him but not sure he's the answer.

Re assists(a dreadful Americanism but it seems we're stuck with it)- a quick google search for "assists in the spl 2009/2010" brought up "did you mean assists in the epl 2009/2010". Bugger off. Anyway, here you go. Hateley's third equal with 9 assists. He probably lost some support by playing poorly over the final matches(in the PotY poll).

Lambert,Martin and McKinnon all played in the Kirin Cup but the exclusion of Martin from regular squads was a shocking oversight. For a couple of years he was immaculate. Of course, the media focused on Richard Guff's spat with Brown/Roxburgh/SFA/social services.

In full agreement that Dundee Utd can pick who they want, let's try an keep the SPL/SFA at arms reach. No mention of 18/20 home and away split as the reason for "failure" to get 4th?

Plumped for Sutton in the end. Considered Jennings but only really came into the side at the turn of the year.

He's still young enough to improve(and maybe by a lot). Worth another year or two. The basics are definitely there.

As along as they win tthe Cup the tnks can play whoever they want. Daft rule anyway, clubs should be able to pick 11 chinamen if they want.
