  1. [and will not win us the league OMG these eejits are even more delusional than I thought if they think anyone could win them the league. Maybe the first division next season but certainly not the SPL, even if they had got Craig Brown
  2. Well done and thanks to Craig and Archie. They already had my respect, but more so now for showing loyalty and respect to Motherwell.
  3. Money? they are £13million in debt apparently and can't afford money for new players or for compensation to other clubs.
  4. Maybe I am missing something, but surely these anti sectarian so called lessons will be full of sectarianism because they will only reflect the views of one side, ie the catholic church. Surely if it was going to happen it should be done by a more neutral source? I agree with the person who said earlier that Motherwell are a non sectarian club. Surely this cannot be imposed on players and staff against their will?
  5. I would like to think he'd stay till the end of this season. I don't think he'll be wanting to commute that distance when his family are in this area. Plus why would he leave a top six side for relegation material wi fans that are never happy and directors and players that don't seem to give a toss?
  6. I wouldn't always believe what is quoted in the media. They just want to sell papers and so will beef up stories and quotes aren't always accurate.
  7. The police match commander passes instructions to the Head Steward and this is forms the instructions that are given to the stewards. So Yir Elder was basically right
  8. This is the most sensible post I have seen on this thread, and IMO this is probably the reason he moved when he did to get more experience as an assistant manager before taking on a manager's job, especially in the SPL. Also at that point I don't think Scott Leitch had a Euro Licence so he wouldn't have been able to take the team in Europe. I don't understand all the bitterness as I don't think he actually turned his back. I mean he has been watchin us play in the stand a few times. As I said above I think he just wants to build up management experience first, which makes a lot of sense.
  9. For me this is the whole crux of the issue that the view of the game can be obstructed whereas the fans etc have a much better view, either from the stands or on TV so the mistakes can be a lot more obvious to them. Video technology imho would help and has been successfully used in rugby. Although it is a different game, technology can be adapted. The situation had become out of order, especially when the death threats against officials' families were made. In my eyes the blame here should be shouldered by Lennon and Reid, and Celtic should have action taken against them for bringing the game into disrepute as other teams probably would be.
  10. Brilliant news. All the best to David and his wife, and wee Joshua. Hope Mum and baby are both doing well.

    St Johnstone

Picked Blackman this week for his hat-trick. But thought Randolph, Craigan, Hammell, Reynold, Humphrey all merit a mention. Good to see Murphy back. Casagolda I think will be good as he comes into the team. Ps Happy 21st to Nick Blackman
  12. I agree with what is being said here. Basically the SPL keep saying that they are going to crack down on clubs for their fans' behaviour both at home and away. Whether that be through fines or point reductions it means that all the fans are going to be affected by the behaviour of a few. A fine could mean something else that the club could use but then can't afford. Point deductions could mean the difference between third and a relegation battle. I am not against folk enjoying the games but flares and turning your back to the pitch and linking arms are not the way to do this. Yes the lads should be allowed to sing, chant, have flags, beachballs, etc. They should be allowed to stand to a certain extent but please don't do anything that could get SPL sanctions as that causes problems for everyone.

    Joe Wark

Sorry to hear this. He was my hero when I was a kid - great player. Thoughts are with him, and his family.
  14. I also couldn't stick to 5 and I couldn't put them in order:- Dougie Arnott Stevie Kirk Phil O'Donnell Ally Maxwell (for his performance in the 1991 final when he was injured) Davie Cooper Scott Leitch David Clarkson Joe Wark and Willie Pettigrew (when I was a kid) My faves in the current team are Stephen Craigan, Keith Lasley, Stevie Hammell and Mark Reynolds.
  15. Craigan. Played a great game.

    Stevie Kirk

Anyone heard any news how Stevie Kirk is doin?
  17. The Palace grounds had to have leisure facilities in it to get the planning permission, Bop, because the ground had orignally donated to the people of the town for that purpose. That is what it has to do with things. Simples. And the argument about the distance, the college is about 1 km from Fir Park now and I would think the Stadium would be near the sport centre for extra training facilities. That is a good km further on again. The nearest bus stop is out across from the IMO car wash so it is a good wee walk in. But on the other hand they might run shuttle buses or something on matchdays for a small fare. I think the distance involved would possibly affect the likes of the club shop and the learning centre which are currently used every day at Fir Park. A lot of people would be put off by the distance if they didn't have a car. But oersonally I would have thought the old college grounds would have been ideal as this is right beside FP. You could have had one lot of supporters going in Dalzell Drive, and the other going in from Fir Park Street. Also there would have been loads of parking space within that piece of land.

    Stevie Kirk

Sorry to hear about this. All the best for a speedy recovery, Stevie. FP wisnae the same without him on Saturday.

    St Mirren

Chris Humphrey for his goal, and he is playing pretty well throughout the game. Craigan was solid as usual. Also thought Hammell deserved a mention, and Lasley. Team seemed to lose it a bit in the second half but got there in the end to get the points.
  20. I do agree with the person who made the original post in this thread. It is okay to criticise a wee bit but some of them go over the top. I know "they pay their money they have a right to criticise" but what about the folk around them who have paid their money too and want to watch the game without all this drivel being spouted around them?
  21. I have to disagree with that. If he was a waste of a jersey why would he have played at international level 49 times?

    Spl Table

Celtic Rangers Motherwell Hibs Hearts Dundee United Aberdeen StJohnstone ICT Kilmarnock StMirren Hamilton OF are so predictable but this is the season I can see them being overtaken by Any of the top six. Don't see ICT being relegated again as they will be hungry to stay up. Hamilton if they keep up their performances of the last two games, I think will be relegation material. I think Motherwell can do well this season, and I will be happy with top six, preferably 3rd or 4th.
  23. Anyone know why these seats are not being used at the moment? The last couple of OF games these were used as extra seats for the away support, so if these seats are not being used, will this mean they get only the away seats in the South like all the other visiting teams (as it should be). Or will some other unfortunate folk have to move to accommodate them? Apologies if this is not really relevant to this thread, but just sprung to mind when I read the above post.
  24. Has anyone heard what is happening about Craggs' testimonial match?
