I'm sure the HLI didn't have a kilt and were the only Highland reg to wear trews? Not specifically at The Somme but in general. My Great-Grandfather was HLI during WW1 and as terrible as it sounds, I'm glad it wasn't me. Those lads went through Hell.

It won't be difficult to find posts of mine from the last few years that state my dislike of the Sampdoria-style blue kit idea and mock-up but, now that I've seen it as an actual shirt instead of a graphic, I'm impressed. They've got the current generation of player and an older generation of player but, wait for it, they've dressed them to appear the other way around. I know, crazy right? Those wacky Sun guys.

The English FA don't count emergency loans as a player representing a second club, the SFA/SPL do though. We found out the awkward way that we couldn't play Mike Grella, even though his spell at Carlisle was an emergency loan (less than 93 days). He couldn't play for us but he went back down South and played for Swindon Town on loan. If Clarky's going to play for another club this season (other than Bristol City or Brentford), it would have to be a club in the English leagues.
