So it was only treacherous for the Saints (as reported) Sometimes you'd argue black was white sir Next we'll be watering it deliberately before the start of each half to make sure it's treacherous (and different from the conditions the teams warm up in / potentially base their stud decision on) We don't see that reported very often when they do it in Govan, do we?

I agree with that and understand what they (others) are saying. My point isn't that we have a divine Real Madrid style right to win. What I've been trying to say is that even taking into account our meagre resources. If we had changed our playing style re Hibs, for instance, from punting the ball high and aimlessley up the middle for Bamba to mop up with his big foreheid. And played a more direct and cutting game - The 'threadbare XI' we threw out would have cuffed them. I understand perfectly where we stand in the food chain, always have done, always will do - but I'm not lambasting my team or being hyper critical, if all I'm pointing out that if we done things differently I believe we could achieve even more. Our threadbare squad could quite asily be sitting 3 off the OF!

You're not allowed to stay stuff like that apparently (even though Broon said the same) - lacks perspective and fails to take into account our meagre resources. (even tho' I still maintain if we'd played the style of football we did first half yesterday - we'd be sitting on 18 points (that's taking into account our meagre resources and using a bit of perspective)

The pitch was immaculate and if someone at the club needs to get a haud of the press then that's what should happen. I know that's risk considering how we don't know how the winter will go and our track record and going public now will require having to remain public during the difficult winter months. But like I said earlier credit where it's due - it looks like it's the best playing surface in the country right now. Even last year at this time - although the pitch looked good - you could see it tearing a bit under a heavy sliding challenge - nothing like that this year

We've got a brilliant record in delivering the goods when it comes to releasing snippets of information and following it up with a meat and tatties announcement. I'm for hanging on to ma bunnet - until the fat lady sings

On the Sportscene programme - the commented before the highlights that the pitch was sodden. Wankers. You can tell that they're on the starting blocks ready to let loose. It was looking immense both in the flesh and it was looking the best of all the surfaces on the TV highlights. Credit where credits due. The pitch drains like a fuckin dream. And (since they relaid it anyway) the problem has never been about it holding water.

They weren't the worst team to have visited Fir Park this season.

We're ditching the long ball game!
-
I can assure you it isn't. We were good in spells today - but I'd rather be watching the young team Butcher had post administration - getting humped every other week than a re-run of the Hibs, Celtic or Aberdeen games from this season. It's good to be a well fan when we're high up the league. But if the fitbas pish we'll end up sitting in the house / pub - watching Sky Sports News or Teletext wi our fingers crossed for another point or two
-
The fact is that if we'd turned up for the Aberdeen and Hibs games the way we did for the first 25minutes today then we'd be sitting with 18 points not 13. 3 points off the gruesome twosome and out of sight of Utd. But I much prefer to watch the actuall game footballon grass than the league table in a newspaper. Folk are saying that the home form is poor - it's still poor - although at times a good bit better today. We tried our best to throw it away after blitzing them. To keep people turning up at Fir Park we need to play more like we did in the opening spell of the game. We played some great stuff - and it was on the deck and direct much more than it has been. What people were complaining about before - the aimless punt up the middle wasn't really happening today. They were saying we could be slaughtering teams - still true - we should have gone in at half time 4 up. We let them back into the game and it could have been looking at a 2 or 3 to 1 reverse. Wardlaw showed Sutton and Murphy how to strike the ball towards goal. Anyway - I listened to the wee man today on the radio and he thought we were gash and were fortunate to get 3 points - I'd go with that. I'd add though, that we finally showed in that opening spell what we are capable of - and it could be outstanding and entertaining. (for yer 18 / 22 quid)

No one is getting too bent out of shape about it. The point remains though that we could have won them - the Hibs game in particular. There was absolutely no need to continually pump the ball through to Bamba. We all appreciate where we are and who we have in charge. Me personally - I feel that the long ball thing IS a definite instruction, it was creeping in last season. And if Brown and Knox were against it they'd be going their dinger to halt it during games and get us to keep it on the floor - I've not seen any evidence of that happening. A win on Saturday will be a tonic for the troops tho
-
I know it's fair enough. All three were there for the taking - but the failings were to feed all three central defences buns all day long with any attempt to change it. The moan last week was that our home form was at odds to our away form - that hopefully will change on Saturday.
