  1. Yeah, I know. What comes across loud and clear in all my posts since day one on here is how I like us to get humped so I can moan. Fuck sake - wasn't that long ago I was head of the happy clappy gang apparently. The 'moan' about us getting it wrong at home and wanting us to play attacking football and win matches is such a negative viewpoint to have. I suppose you can roll out some stats on my negative posts. Remember Steelboy, 'reading' a post is different from 'understanding' it.
  2. The old - as long as we get the points / qualify for europe / dont lose argument doesn't stack up really. 1) We won't achieve as much as we think if we continue to only perform away from home and 2) Supporting 'well at home will become a very lonely pastime. Say whatever you like - if the fitba continues to be pish folk will vote with their feet. The home form is something that the players and management are now at least acknowledging - so maybe we'll try something a bit different in weeks to come. maybe we'll even have a bash at some "tippy-tappy pish"
  3. Aye that's the lazy chat thats doin the rounds - not entirely accurate. Set up two on Saturday - must have been mis-hits and we only scored two as well. Why can folk no' get behind the guy
  4. and unfortunately no off some moanin negative fuckers coupon?
  5. The points picked up on the road are impressive no doubt and without them we would be in a completely different place. Unfortunately fitba isn't played on paper and when we pay 18/20 quid for a home game or £250 for a season book - we're lookin to see football not a stats package. I get enough o' them at ma work. Like i say - hats off for our endeavour on the road - but somethins broken if we can't overcome some of the pish we've come up against at fir park with some decent football.
  6. so there we have it folks, the stats categorically prove that not only is Alan Gow a shite player that drags teams down. He has a 'Damien from The Omen' ability to start their descent to oblivion. Here's me waiting to see what he's like if he ever gets the ball at his feet. Stats for a team define the ability of an individual player??? Well I never.
  7. And on top of the long ball pish therein lies problem number 2. A stupid habit inhereted from Andy Roxburgh
  8. Nah the games about stats I agree with your post star sail. Others can dress it up and deflect in as many ways as they like - It's been dire so far in terms of entertainment so far. We're capable of getting the ball on the deck and playing some excellent stuff - we've done it in flashes. I understand that you need to go long on occasion (it can't ALWAYS be on the deck) - but no one will convince me that this isn't a definitive change in philosophy. I'm questioning whether the old season ticket dosh could've been used elsewhere and that really is pish
  9. Sounds mair appealling than watching the new Wimbledon
  10. Fuck ma bunnet! - Sounds like playing on the deck continues to be an elusive pipe dream
  11. I sometimes call it the main stand as that's what it was for 40 years of my life. And I sometimes call it the Phil O'Donnell Stand as that's what it's called now - and I like that because it's a fitting tribute to a wonderful player and club servant. To be brutally honest, like most other people, that's just the way my mind works. It'll always be either or for me - and I don't see anything whatsoever wrong with that. If you do - you're a grade one pedantic fanny
  12. Fink he's a cypriot no a malteser, but i'd be happy if we played anybody wi a left foot. Saturday was poor decision making and reminiscent of the way broon managed the scotland team where he'd happily play one of the regular 11 drastically out of position instead of bringing in a left footed fringe player (i.e. Fitzy) or moving say reynolds to lb and using saunders and page in the cb and rb berths
  13. I was looking forward to this. I'd got the time off work (hawf day) and was fully intending driving up. The urge has totally gone and have absolutely no interest in this game whatsoever. Quite an alarming turnaround.
  14. I think that's the photo that was in John Swinburne's 'History of the Steelman' book EDIT: I think this is courtesy of big Special
  15. I seen a few guys in the main with cameras but the fact that they were guttin themselves with laughter / rolling about the stand probably prevented the snap being taken
  16. It would have been full length but for objections from property owners at that end apparently
  17. the decision making was poor at times and that is a fair criticism from brown. However the wee man would gain more respect if he took a look in the mirror and recognised some poor decisions that he was responsible for that contributed to the poor performance and result. He's the man with the plan is he not? i'm disappointed that he thinks it was only the players that fucked up. Anyway - we're away to the jabos next week. 3 easy pointss.
  18. We should have taken all three points today, comfortably. However, it needs to be said - the bulk of our league fitba this season has been pretty dire and sore on the eyes. I know there are a few who will disagree - but the long ball pish will be our downfall more often than we gain anything positive from it. We need to change the record. I don't think we're attacking enough at home and I struggle at times under Brown to figure out who's been sent out to 'lead the line' so to speak. For me a couple of alarm bells starting to ring with what the players are being asked to do. We have players capable of playing the game on the deck and they're being asked to play something different. It's not the end of the world and I'm no' slating anybody. Bottom line of the post is that we are capable of winning games like that and playing more entertaining football in the process.
  19. I'm getting a warm and fuzzy feeling that the time for direct action against these UEFA arse licking fuckers is just around the corner. Hopefully before the game in Scotland dies though
  20. I'm still of the opinion the Reynolds wouldn't be out of place in the squad. Fed up saying it though. For me for their goal the other night - Weir did an impersonation of a pillar at Stonehenge to allow the cross to come in and McManus did some sort of Wii Fit Dance Mat move to try and block the shot. If Reynolds ever does summit like that the guy gets 'crustified'. Oh and btw I sent that Fucker levein a photo of him the other day just in case he didn't know what he looked like
  21. I remember playing competitive school and youth team games on a full sized pitch aged 11 -15 - it was fucking marvellous - some of the most enjoyable memories I have. Fuck all wrong with it - Mix that with a consistent country wide approach to some great education & coaching about the way the game could be played.
  22. He can play left mid and he can strike the ball / finish I noticed during the Hibs game the difference in finishing between Riordan and Stokes and our lads - on the day the gap was huge in terms of pace, swerve (if req'd), height if (req'd) and accuracy. if he can bring any of that - then great.
