  1. looks like they're trying to reduce the wage bill to give themselves a chance of hingin on to wee davie badboabie before R*****s come sniffing on August 31st with a half baked bid
  2. It was a hellish time and obviously no-one had the foresight to avert the fall over the cliff with the TV deal that threw us into administration. I can sympathise with the staff and players affected as they had those bona-fide contracts that became null and void - a really sair yin for all of them. Most however managed to move on in the game - so fair play. They're entitled to their say - granted. But most have had it a few times over now - there will come a point in time when it's just not relevant to wheel these guys out. They need to get on with their life and Motherwell have weathered the storm and now cut their cloth to suit to avoid it ever happening again - so as a clube MFC are entitled to get on with theirs. It's a difficult one.
  3. I wouldn't expect anything different from Andy Walker - he was a great wee player for us and I was absolutely gutted when he left. But of all the ex players that went to the OF - he is the one that got the most vociferous welcome on his return, (in my opininion). "Andy Wanker, You're a Walker, You're a Walker" from the whole of the shed. He got absolutely roasted - so we shouldn't expect any loyaly from him. He's commented about our response in his column many times. What struck me most about the Cardiff Chairman's response was that he wasn't raging about a high profile 'daubing in' on SSN for not paying a transfer fee - if you listen to what he said, he was raging about the high profile hijacking of his Bellamy press conference - The Prize Nugget! I think we will get bad press particularly in Scotland on the back of the pain felt by many following our going into administration - but we always need to remember that Boyle was the biggest loser overall in terms of what he wrote off. So it's not as 'rich' as some will portray. However as always - the media love to have a pop and I'm sure they'll take the opportunity to highlight that a lot of folk who could ill afford it suffered during that time - Boyle, even considering his huge financial loss, is always portrayed as someone that could afford / weather that relatively comfortably. Yesterday, I think we got the mix just about spot on - i was a bit concerned about the language that I'd heard we'd used and how it would come across. But as i watched it transpire - the Boyle outburst on Sky and the Dempster interview elsewhere just about got things across as well as we could have hoped. At the end of the day £200K is money that we need and that we are due - so we need to do what it takes.
  4. That's why Brazilian made the post - because the chairman appears to be laying the moral thing on thick. Ethics is the word Boyle was looking for
  5. Because his contract of employment is with Cardiff. If they fail to pay what they agreed - we can pursue the money. However the transfer of the player is a separate part of the deal
  6. Oh FFS - I agree too and as Cardiff are not in administration we're due the money in full. That wasn't the point I was making. It was about our attitude to payment - not whether we were due it. BTW - 10p in the pound when their still *solvent* - Fuck Off!
  7. Yeah - I *read* and *understood* it the first time. i just said none of us were best placed to *preach* to Cardiff about it. i didn't accuse anyone in particular of preaching - if you can point me in the direction of who that was tho - I'll PM them a heartfelt apology. Excuse me I'm away to split a hair elsewhere.
  8. You could argue with yer shadow man! i wasn't referring to the club statement. However i stand by my post and would suggest that most of our financial obligations were unfulfilled when we entered administration and that remains a fact. Contractors, staff, players directors money remains unpaid - so as supporters the high ground will be 'elusive' on this one That said, Cardiff are still trading - albeit with well documented problems and we have gone public re a late substantial payment and it seems a bit unfortunate they they are entering into such a high cost agreement with late bills to pay. Hence i hope they pay us the money we're owed.
  9. Much as I would love Cardiff to pay up - we're not really the best placed club to be preaching about paying debts (football or otherwise) off in full - as many fans of other clubs have pointed out in many other forums. If we get it great
  10. I see what you did there Iain - but that's not exactly what I was saying now was it?
  11. Canny wait to see the reaction when Brylcream boy misses a sitter in the last minute to level it vs the jambos
  12. I think it highlights the dangers yet again of premature ejaculation. No matter how much all of us degenerates on here moan about stuff - the club need remember we're just a bunch of fanatical loonies mouthing off, and they should keep quiet - no matter how frustrating that is for all parties until the ink has been blown dry. it's obvious that the deal that was in place fell through and an alternative - and very lucrative alternative given the circumstances was secured in time for the new season. Well done to all involved in doing that. I don't think we really need an explanation or an apology or anything like that. Just need to learn the lesson - although we're desperate for info. Sometimes is best not letting anything out the bag.
  13. Almost 100% off the mark Ya Bezzer. Central defenders need to be able to pass otherwise they invite the opposition on almost immediately the ball leaves their foot. Keeping possession and building an attack is the name of the game. if you continually punt it long and see the ball coming back at you due to a dire refereeing performance / dominance in the air of the opposition you try something different. I'm not having a major pop at the guys - but to say that we nullified the Hibs attack in the first half isn't exactly accurate. We pressed them high up the park - and had some good pressure from midfield forward - but when they broke - you could harly say we were 'comfortable' at the back. The tired old criticism that Humphrey can't cross is piss poor - it was true to an extent last year - but he's been regularly throwing in dangerous crosses this year. in the first half in particular on Sunday he made space for a cross through beating players a good few times. no one's making him out to be a hero - folk are just saying he had a good game on Sun. Nothing like a finished article.
  14. A decent enough game to kick things off and unlucky not to get anything from the game. Punished heavily for a few mistakes and suffered from a piss poor ref. However. When you see you're getting no change from the ref (no matter how poor that is) and Bamba is being allowed to climb all over Sutton / whoever then - it's blatantly obvious that we needed to change something. Although Randy's kicking at times is bang on, I think allowing our central defenders to continually punt it long and high eventually led to us inviting Hibs back into the game. When we got it on the deck and ran at them we got results. Distribution from the defence was poor today. We need to get back to moving the ball out of defence rapid and on the deck. (The last cuppla managers tried to knock that outta them ) No major worries though - we were miles ahead - a bit more of a killer instinct in front of goals and we'd have been outta sight in the first 30 mins - so we're not far away.
  15. This is most worrying You're from Dundee right? Do you write for The Sun and have you designed clobber for Michelle Mone?
  16. Overall it's a great result. I think most of us get that feeling that when they sneak a last minute penalty the old 'glorious failure' script is playing out. However if we remain strong and positive next week and manage to punish them on the break - we're in line for a great tie in the next round. We can do it - no probs

I'd agree with that - I was meaning 'away in Europe' basically. I think there's too many poor choices for live domestic games and a piss poor highlights package that don't serve us well at all.
  20. That was the prawn sandwich brigade - will be livelier next week
  21. Its a fuckin disgrace what we've been reduced to to follow a game of football innit. Fuck Them Tho! C'mon the Well!

Right - So far we've had ourselves, Hibs and the Sellick all away in Europe and the coverage in the broadcast media to bring this to the fans, given the pish that fouls up every channel on the telly and radio has been abyssmal. This is meant to be our national game FFS. All we've had so far is coverage of our last round on BBC MW and a couple of extremely dodgy web feeds plus Norwegian radio by the sounds of it. The authorities should be fuckin ashamed of themselves
