  1. Funnily enough it's more the mixed messages that are a tad concerning. A couple of weeks back it was - We have a budget for a striker plus a couple of loanees anything above that depends on Reynolds moving. Now it looks as though all targets will slip away if we don't progress in europe or get reynolds away. Advertising our financial desperation is not a good bargaining position to take - leads to derisory bids.
  2. An interesting insight into where we are financially wrt transfers from Broon's interview on the beeb.
  3. Cracked about two weeks ago
  4. Apologies everyone for my mad rants, Juan and Graeme have knocked me completely off my holier than thou high horse with their compelling arguments. Although it's highly unlikely - I'd be all for bringing the wee guy in and paying his wages. He deserves a chance to develop. With a bit of luck he'll end up getting his club a decent wedge Ouch - just pulled my calf
  5. Halsman & Lawless to Annan Athletic on loan
  6. I don't think they'd improve us - there ye go. If you mean there as good or better than some of the players we have - then I'd agree. But there's much much more to MFC than that We have young players that could come in and do a job - and I'd like to support Hutch and Saunders and Hateley who have committed for the next few years in preference to Severin. Same goes for Slane - I'd rather support a new signing or one of the lads we already have - even though they may or may not be capable of the wee touches of flair that Slane showed. I wouldn't stroke his ego for a couple of points. Give me someone that wants to be here and contribute to the MFC cause anyday.
  7. Craig Brown told him he was making a huge mistake and would have given him a run no problem at all (and was quoted as such) - but unfortunately Slane had a 'really bad injury' In that regard - i'm pretty sure he won't be back
  8. Yes - but will you read, understand and acknowledge the response that's been made to those very clever points. Yes we would all move to the 'Well - of course we would. But most of us wouldn't royally screw the club we were currently playing for. In fact if we understood a bit about the state of the game in Scotland we would try if possible to ensure the club that gave us the opportunity would be compensated if we had it in our power to do so. Paul Slane had that opportunity.
  9. I don't agree with that assumption Ya Bezzer - and just so that we're crystal it'd be the same if it were Rangers as well We've had this debate ad infinitum however the main point is that - even IF it was me or you and we were a fan of another team wrt a permanent transfer - we'd have been involved in the professional game long enough to know shit from shinola and that the team that developed our talent on limited resources would maybe deserve a wee bit more than us stringing them along re injuries while negotiating a free transfer in the shadows. I agree that a player who comes in should benefit the team and Ruddy and Jutkiwijcz were good examples came in did a job - realised the benefits to both parties and left with everyone happy with the contribution that they made - and both potentially benefitting from a years first team experience. Extremely professional all round and had a superb understanding of the situation at both football clubs involved It's all about the attitude to it and the respect for the clubs - the players in question came in and theirs was spot on. Slane thinks he's better than us and he owes us fuck all and treated us apallingly badly. (Calum Elliot had no respect decent attitude or desire either) Anyway at the end of the day - it's a no brainer. Paul slane given the opportunity of a year's loan at FP would knock it back - IMHO. I honestly would fear for him if he was daft enough (possible???) to return - he's be roasted alive - quite rightly
  10. You'd never catch me in that Shit-tip of a town
  11. I read in another interview at the weekend that he wasn't expecting anything of note to happen, in or out, until the last week of the transfer window (or maybe it was the wek befor the SPL season).
  12. The saddest part is that none of the very valid points you make would penetrate the thick fuckers brain. What an absolute tit of a boy!
  13. Read in the paper on Sunday that he's signed a one year deal - quoted Adams
  14. Yeah, that's a brilliant idea. Let's develop the ungrateful wee fucker even further. . . . . for Celtic
  15. Totally agree with that Yabba - it looks a bit toucher than last year. Even in the early games last you could see that tearing up a bit in slide tackles - but it held together until the slow cooker incident after the boxing day fixture. Early days but this could be an altogether differnet proposition with the old fibresand. Would like to hear onthefringes thoughts on it

Agree with what's been said. Praise due for an excellent programme. Muchos praise in fact - it was a belter. The typos are something we just seem to have to live with - the John Boyle 'immerging' talent one was the one that I noticed.
  17. i wouldn't have thought so. wheres the commercial sense in ordering a quantity of a temporary sponsor?
  18. I'm hopin most of it's quite tasteful
  19. Nah, he canny spell Humphreys Humphries Humphrey
  20. This actually proves without shadow of a doubt that you are not a fir park regular cheerio!
  21. I forgot Simon Lappin Although Paul Harley must be a definite now since Coppell says he's surplus
  22. Agree with Airfinz, it's amazing how so much info in the public domain passes people by. Coke signs for Sheff Wed and a week later Brown is quoted as saying he has funds for a striker's wages (free transfer) + a couple of loanees. Yet we still go back and count Cokes wages as being up for grabs on top of what he's said. All of Scottish Football (yes that's including ourselves) is bankrupt. If we don't generate something like £1M per year minimum in transfers we're adding to the deficit. I've also been to collect my Jim Paterson winnings from Victor Chandler - looking for Richie Foran and Alan MacCormack, plus Clarkson on loan to get the accumulator up in the next 48hrs.
