  1. Nah! That's still knickers. There was meant to be a family 'section' in the Cooper. if the kids come to the games with their old man (or old lady) they should go to wherever they want to go sit down and learn to watch the game. it means that they don't group together and scream like banshees and the parents and other adults (should) consider their behaviour too. The new initiative isn't going to inundate the place with screaming weans. And to be honest I'd much rather they were there being positive than the current bunch of frustrated wife beaters that we have at present.
  2. I agree to an extent. I think over and above everything else Stewart has a problem with his discipline that he himself can't really get on top of. Exhibited it both at Hearts and Hibs. In his defence the hearts team he's playing in has a problem across the board with discipline and that says more to me about the way that club is managed and sent out to play football than anything else. Not that he's gonna come here in a million years anyway (for numerous reasons - most of which include the words 'can't afford') - but could he be sent out with a different attitude of a saturday? - course he could. we've had managers in the past that are masters of that and the one we have now could do it too.
  3. That's knickers tho really is it no'? Folk with kids should be able to sit where they like. and even if every adult ST holder with kids took up the offer and moved the Coop. The number of greetin weans in the east stand would still outnumber them by about 20 to 1 (even though the East stand ones are 30 plus).
  4. It's a real hot potato for the club in attempting to get this package right. The U16 Offer is tremendous - although it would be good to have seen it extended to all stands, but then if the offer is there then I'm sure folk will consider the switch. The club in the past have stated that they will be providing exiting benefits for season ticket holders - these statements have by and large come to nothing ("look forward to exciting developments through the season" "bring a friend" etc)- As has been said many times by many people - not a lot of significant actual benefit has been passed to ST holders. Any gripe I have here though isn't with the lack of additional benefits - it's the failure to deliver once the gob has been opened. If nothing is going to be delivered, don't promise anything in the first place. I'm in a position right now where I can renew and attend most home games. For many years I wasn't able to for various reasons. I'll be doing so because I'm supporting the club and putting my dosh in the coffers up front. That could change in this current climate at the drop of a hat (or an x on a ballot paper) and recognise that there will be a fair few folk that have been able to buy an ST last May that will find that there nowt rattling round the piggy bank this time round. i feel for these guys - the folk that want to be here week in week out but are priced out. For them I hope we manage to run some decent match by match promotions through the coming season. I think though that football is overpriced and the broad decision across the board in the SPL not to reduce prices is gonna knock a few hundred people out of regular football attendance. So I believe the erosion of the game overall continues. I understand our own club are between a rock and a hard place and the decision to even freeze prices is a risky one. The current situation until the mould is broken is that a relatively stable, but low number of people will be relied upon ago to come up with the readies - at this point every year i reckon it's squeaky sphinkter time to see exactly how it goes. With the early bird effer not being just as good i wonder if the bums will become squeaky again should things be slow. When season ticket renewals slow up - action is forthcoming from the club. I'm not advocating civil disobedience or anything - just merely pointing out that in the weeks following our narrow escape / Malpas's ejection, season ticket renewals were abysmall - prompting action within the board room. When McGhee was brought in season ticket renewal rocketed immediately. Just a final note / aside / digression - I read a post the other day there having a pop at the 'empty' gesture of fans throwing their season ticket onto the park at the St Mirren defeat under Malpas. the gesture was about sending a message about non renewal intent and not a futile gesture about throwing away something that had expired and wasn't worth anything anymore in terms of that particular season.
  5. That sounds like it could be one of the two big announcements.
  6. FFS milo - it's a light hearted exchange about Michael Stewart of Hearts - if you read it!
  7. He's still better than lasley and his on-field attitude is on a par with JoB i think it's the FHW connection intit. if he was our grade A wankstain we'd learn to love him maybe not the Brokeback Mountain Manlove we see for lasley but we'd love him non-the-less.
  8. He's a better footballer than Lasley by a considerable margin with the added advantage of being able to hit the target with a shot at goal. However his temperament renders any increased ability almost useless over the course of a season. Straight swap him for JoB would be considered tho'
  9. That's a fair old gesture - well done
  10. Maybe the second announcement is a free set of ear muffs with an adult ST
  11. 2 new stands (well 1 2/3rds really) either side of the park and some perspex sheeting on the South shootie in. the slope and the hawf stand are two of the best features of our park
  12. Shagger isn't so upbeat on The Duke
  13. Article basically says a fee will kaybosh the move. It's a heartening read - but I'd prefer it to hit the media once something is concrete rather than alert the world to his potential availability.
  14. If I was Leeann, I'd have every one of them in the office and let them know that they need to keep their gob shut if they plan to see their 20th birthday at the club.
  15. Aye big Lukas Juciefruits apparently
  16. There isny a stadium on the outline plan. But the outline plan is just that - an outline plan. i'd imagine a few of the proposed projects have been shelved also. Someone well in the know actually posted that a while back. if we want a stadium up there - space will be found for it.
  17. Well done Brazilian & well done Lankymac! (ya big lanky shite )
  18. Pure Unadulterated Spin Got an almost identical response. At least we now know the fuckers can cut n paste. Which is at least something!
  19. Ruddy won't cost any more than 500K
  20. In addition to all of that, it was annoying to read of Boyle's eulogy to McGhee at the recent AGM and to be honest i don't believe a word of it. He left us in a shit position with zero players. perhaps he was just saying Thanks for the compensation in a roundabout way! Not that club were ever gonna stand in the way of any of those players leaving. Letting that happen and taking the coin is our lifeblood. However McGhee had done absolutely zero groundwork to bring anybody of note in in the final phase of this last season (bar Fraser).. I think many when the dust finally settles will look back on the opening months of this season more realistically and sensibly than they currently do.
  21. Motherwell has been good for JOB Andy and he's benefitted from a couple of managers (including JG who brought him on tons and the Facebook rant by JOB did him no favours) who have helped to sort out his temperament and his all round game (the defensive side and the decision making side). Still miles to go as a player - but when he goes he goes knowing that he's benefitted from his time here.
  22. When you view stats like that it shows how much of an unappreciative bunch we really are and how fucked up the supposed football hotbed that is Lanarkshire really is. When you consider how greetin faced we tend to be and how even on a good run we can barely get any 'swing voters' (in a football sense) oot the house of a Saturday.
  23. How can this be?? That cant Fraser was meant to be chucking a couple into our net was he no'? Disappointed in this result - was looking forward to another 20 page fickle-fan-greet-in Ah well, onwards and upwards I suppose
  24. Enlighten yerself. Your grasp of how harsh the finiancial situation the club is actually in is a tad limp IMHO. We need to cut costs big time We need to sell players big time We need money coming in through the turnstiles big time. Merely to survive
  25. That's a fair point and probably a must from the 2 clubs perspective. We've never done this type of thing well though. I was in the Coop on SS - A bit hairy at times - the volume of them fuckers in our stands was outrageous.
