yeah - I understand that. That's why we're not moving. In essence, if we were gonna move, we've missed the boat and can't really predict when the next boat will pass.

Obviously not as much as some of the sad fuckers around me - ya fucker

It's like juggling soot sometimes

One would hope we'd do the same as everybody else thats done it - the money from the sale funds the new build

I'm pleased that all you fuckers are getting a chance to kick a new 'dug' (when it's down as well) To be fair to you you're very perceptive - cos most of the fuckers round me started on the guy BEFORE the fuck up for the first goal. Ya Bezzer's post is completely right. Fraser's probably to blame for the volcanic eruption in Iceland and the collapse of the banks last year as well. Why we need to go over the top and make an already bad situation worse by so vocally getting on the guy's back and mocking him with sarcastic cheers throughout 90 mins baffles me. Exactly how is that gonna help the cause of Motherwell FC during a game?

I'll go for 2-0 Utd We''l be pish up front because The Duke'll be running aboot like a lame horse

How Much Would You Pay To Watch Motherwell At Home?

That's a kinda non existent calculation though Stall No of games x £18 x a gradually decreasing paying punters? The challenge for the club(s) and the SPL is to make it No of games x £15 x increasing paying punters Things can't remain the same and there's been (apart from Boyle's initial period) fuck all in terms of a sustained initiative to attract punters to scottish football. The clubs continue with the idiotic mindset that their support will turn up and pay whatever they want to charge for every game, regardless. I genuinely think there's a couple of shocks round the corner for the dimwits Allocated blocks of seats on a pre sale at reduced prices up till a few days before the match being one that needs to be looked at. -
I find it surprising, and this is not a criticism, that so many people view a season ticket purchase as a cost saving opportunity as opposed to a financial gesture commitment to the club for a whole season. I know that season tickets are not for everybody and that they are only any good if you are in the enviable position of having the dosh up front and being able to get to all / the vast majority of home games. For many years i was unable to afford one or able to get to FP every week. But circumstances have changed and I can get most weeks as well as having a wee system where I've got a 'snash jar' that when it's emptied at the end of May makes a significant dent in the ST price. For me it's more a commitment to the club than a calculation of price per game. However, I do agree that the erosion of the value over time has made it far less appealling to the guys that are looking to get the best value for money. I think the removal of cup games should be the first area that is addressed. (Heaven forbid we get more than one home cup tie in a season rite enuff)

Glad that new policy of announcing one definitive list in one announcement, instead of bit by bit piece meal announcements has really kicked in

And that's a fair and valid point as well! Well put too. -

That's a fair enough post Scott and i agree pretty much with most of it. However I would add a significant factor. All this shows how the professional game in it's current state is unsustainable. We may be suffering more than most and possibly be in a more delicately poised position - but the same risks are present in many countries including England. I think we're still a couple of seasons at most away from a complete collapse or split - a ground zero so to speak. In fact it's probably what's needed. It's a vicious circle / catch 22 at the moment and something very soon on a grand scale will collapse. Thing is to continue to inflict more and more costs the reduced number people who do support the game week in week out, year on year is not the answer. The game needs to maximise its sponsorship income, share it more equally across the game, find a sensible admission price level for punters and then cut their cloth to suit. Addressing all of those factors arse over tit like the SPL for instance do at the moment is unfortunately suicide (slow painful suicide at that). This will be an interesting close season all across Scotland for season tickets. -
Hamster hits a mean free kick although i canny mind him scoring from one off the top of my head

Some folk think the bigger fuds are the guys in the well scarves with the german accents That's not my opinion tho Just telling you what I know, like.

See that's what i love about steelmenonline - i list a whole raft of reasons that covers what I think are all the scenarios. Doesn't matter what you or I think whether we're scum or holier than thou. It's a factor for some people and I know this for a fact. My opinion on it - and where I stand on it wasn't part of my post

While I've got to be honest and say that Fraser wouldn't have been anywhere near my first choice keeper at the time McGhee signed him - I don't think he let us down last night. yeah he's not as commanding as Ruddy - but he made some decent stops and is being blamed for goals that should have been prevented by outfield players (in typical steelmenonline - 'we all need a whipping boy and forbes & fitzpatrick wereny playin' stylee) Our wage structure, zero money and manager who may not be as good in the transfer market as the last yin mean that it's gonna be difficult to get another Ruddy. We might have to learn to get behind this guy

I think Lennon could be our next gaffer

Yeah it would be great to get back to taking healthy supports to away games and believe that the team by and large over the past 2/3 seasons are deserving of a much larger support. However I don't have the spare dosh to travel to many away games - that's just the brass tacks of it. wish it was different but it ain't. There are loadsa factors though that stop fans going - I'd wager that they are - in no particular order It was live on the telly. It was £25 - most folk don't have it to chuck around. Apathy It was midweek. Some guys are embarassed by the behaviour of sections of our support and refuse to be associated with it. Fitba in genaral is shite. Apathy Inconsistency in our hunger away to the OF Stewards and polis treat you like a leper. Some folk won't give the OF the money a combination of any of the above. and finally . . Apathy unfortunately

I thought we played well enough last night - disappointed that those Murphy / Sutton chances weren't buried (or were saved, whatever way you look at it). Jenno, Fraser and Coke were the plusses for me. I thought Hateley looked to be losing his footing for the entire 90 - bad stud choice maybe? Only real gripe - like the Jambo's game at FP was it not? - I'm completely baffled why Brown lets The Duke stay on the park when he's quite clearly injured. He aggrevated his knock in the first 15 minutes and limped from then on in.

If big Obua at Hearts is anything to go by he'll be brilliant . . . . . . . . . . one game every 3 seasons

The return of premature ejaculation. Under Gannon we had the equivalent of a delay spray.
-
I'd be very surprised if the OF ever allow the vote to go through where they stop playing each other 4 times. In my opinion playing each other so often is one of the biggest turn offs there is in the scottish game - the fitba's pure negative pish. And the greed of the few at the expense of some very decent football clubs should not be allowed to continue.

The best way is to balance the home / away fixtures of whatever teams end up in whatever half. i.e. (if my memory serves me right) we play sellick and utd at home, rangers, hibs and hearts away. Everyone would know where they stood as soon as the split became clear. we wouldn't address the overall home vs away fixture tally imbalance - but at least the teams during the split would not be exerting an unfair advantage over another (like sellick have against us) no-one should have 3 home games a season against anyone. just another example of the administrators pressing on the windpipe of the game in this country.

Sorry I've mis-read it. Looks like it might be an MFC board meeting
