I was trying to have a think about the cash side of things there. The fairest way would be for the money from the surcharge to go into a central pot and for that to be split proportionately based on how many of that clubs ST holders had signed up. But then that would just equate to keeping the cut coming in to your own club from your own ST holders.

Nothing I've heard or read since he left has convinced me that this is nothin other than the players reacting to a difficult regime and a hutch of home truths. Maybe McGarry should have been jogging back to the ground wi' the gaffer.

True. Had the same application / effort levels though, unfortunately

Ict Away: Re-scheduled For Mon 18th Jan (3rd Time)
Steve Diggle replied to Stuarty's topic in Club Chat
Brilliant Nights - even the Anglo-Scottish cup that followed had some belters -
He could strike a ball that fella. A kinda late 70's equivalent of Bob Malcolm wi' curly hair

Dunno mate - it was just a suggestion - i'd imagine if it was adopted SPL wide then St Johnstone would come into line. How would you do it?

The drawback is that folk would exchange tickets agreed - but it's not complicated - someone turns up at a turnstile and tears a page out their book home or away - there's probably enough vouchers already in the 'well books to accomodate that. I totally agree with what you're saying about concentrating on in house issues I'm not arguing an either / or. My memory of good games with good atmospheres is when there's a healthy support for both teams.

Interesting stuff - looks like a wee bit of overlap with what the trust might be aiming to do - however I'm sure that could be overcome. Interesting aloso to see their 'working groups' are already working on stuff we've been discussing on here relating to MFC. And btw - I know many a diehard that no longer attends - and that's the biggest problem we have right now.

Just checked mat - I posted this idea initially on the 'Next meeting' thread on the Trust section. the post must've been filed with my acknowledgement letter for my 2009 membership fee

I think the criticisms are fair - even steelboy's However I think we're reaching a point where the status quo for a number of issues relating to pricing and attending the games just isn't good enough. I know it needs to be costed - but some of the travelling supports have been woeful - I'm just suggesting something needs to be done

I was kinda counting the OF out

I meant thread - you know - the one that we've all been posting on.

I posted this on Leeann's supporters consultation Forum. The Idea is that on top of yer regular season ticket - you get an option of a season ticket 'plus' - that costs ye £50 / £60 more - a nominal fee, not a bank breaker, which means you get into all Well away SPL games by handing over a ticket from yer book. The scheme is open to season ticket holders in all the other non SPL clubs meaning that their ST holders can get into games at Fir Park in the same way. At FP and on our travels means a better atmosphere, doesn't it? I believe that there should be better deals for travelling fans on admission anyway and something would have to be done to help the pay at the gat dudes as well. it's a start is it not? or just a pipe dream? I know it needs to be costed (although currently travelling supports are abysmal) so no much improvement required. And it needs to get the buy in from the other SPL teams and we know JB has tried before and been let down.

I think it's a great idea - As many views as possible need to be collated, filtered and thrashed about to see where we go ahead. There will great views on all things MFC from within the recognised groups and there will be some really poor ones reflecting exactly the same situation that there is on here and within the broader support. The club are in a really tough position I think (like most clubs) and there are loads of long standing issues that don't really have straightforward answers. There are current norms that many on here will defend to the hilt that are the reasons that some folk stay away, there are issues with club finances and fan finances and the stadium. The level of scrutiny on the club based on the way that any chink of info is leaked / expanded upon debated to death etc is something that must be a bit 'claustrophobic' for them too - they cant do anything without it being immediately posted on here and slevered over. This also give 'us on here' (in the loosest terms) the impression that we have more of a say than we actually have. Some sort of regulated forum - where things can be aired would be good.

Aye, he'd be 100 places behind Jeffries in the queue.

Aye there might be more popular managerial candidates out there than Scott mefinks

+1 I think there are some really strong views either way on every topic affecting our club. They need to be aired / thrashed out / understood and fed back to the board in the same way that we need to understand the reasoning behind some of the decisions. We're a community club and we should be more innovative than we are. we should be breaking the mould and encouraging community involvement. i.e like i said elsewhere, lets take this standing at the game thing and do something sensible with it for a kick off. (i like to sit on my 'tocks at the game however I just cringe at the resources wasted trying to get folk to sit down who are doing no harm)

It would need Leeann / JB to kick something off with the other SPL (non OF) clubs. It would need to be costed and a fair way of distribution of funds decided if the uptake was high enough. I reckon it could increase the atmosphere.

A Stadium Development Fund - A registered charity pot for either the redevelopment of Fir Park or the creation of a decent new stadium. The sooner we start saving the better. If it can be a registered charity then folks and businesses (if they are so minded) could do a monthly contribution, donate ebay sales, run hawf-marathons etc. Loads of Ifs and Buts in there mind you (i.e Can it be done) The biggest drawback could potentially be the club throwing a stake in the ground and stating exactly where they are and what the financial gap is. At least the creation of a pot could maybe stimulate the imagination of some fund raisers. Whats the cost per seat gonny be? - let the dug see the rabbit Innovative ideas about getting the atmosphere back - filling empty seats, stop bursting a gut to get folk in the east and south stands to sit down when they're no' annoying anybody. This could potentially include a (non-offensive) flag and inflatable amnesty. Resurrect the reciprocal season ticket deals with other SPL clubs. A £50 (?) surcharge for a 'season ticket plus' - gets ye yer away games free (and vice versa for visitors to the ark) - worth a thought.

Would that response no' be for the poll - Billy Broon Aye or naw?
