  1. From BBC SPL awaits Zemmama missile report Zemmama upset the Motherwell fans during Hibs' 3-1 win The Scottish Premier League will assess Merouane Zemmama's claim that a fan aimed a missile at him once it receives the match delegate's report. Hibernian midfielder Zemmama angered the home supporters by celebrating in front of Motherwell's East Stand after scoring a free-kick in Saturday's win. An SPL spokesman said: "We will see what our match delegate says about any situation relating to the crowd. "They are effectively our eyes and ears at the ground." After the goal celebration incident, the Moroccan went to take a corner in front of the same stand and appeared to move out the way of an item thrown from the crowd. Referee Steve Conroy picked something off the pitch, later described by Zemmama as a "lighter or whistle", and put it in his pocket. The SPL expects to receive the match delegate's report on Tuesday or Wednesday and could punish Motherwell if the player's allegations are found to be true. "If there are any incidents of note which merit further explanation, we'll write to the clubs involved and ask them for some further details," added the SPL spokesman.
  2. Welcome on board and good luck Stewart. I'm also extremmely proud to say I can't relate back to you any detailed incidents of OF games from the past and have absolutely no recollection of who takes free kicks or stands at the end of a wall. I was probably washing ma hair that day. C'mon the well
  3. You have every right to air your opinion I never said you hadn't. I'm only offering a different one. I come on these boards to air my opinion - which on many occasions are different to many other posters. That's what it's all about and long may it continue. I think JOBs corners and crosses and forward runs have been excellent this year and he's creating way more openings than anyone else in the team. The main thing for me is his preference to get forward, and to get there quick and as direct as possible drawing corners, free kicks and penalties - I think thats exactly what Gannon is after. if i sat with a notebook and noted evertime a motherwell player lost possesion or failed to cut out a pass or missed a tackle or a header or gave away possession I'd have topped myself in the 80's. That's the way goals come in any football game - even in top Premiership games. I think there's something else going on if you can't see the positives in JOB and as NWF says - it sounds like you just never will like him. I guess as a long standing fam of MFC I can't really see where you're coming from with this other than you have something against him. I really don't know what you expect from Motherwell Football Club if the football recently isn't waht you're after. Who in the current squad would you put on the team sheet in front of him? Who in the SPL within our budget (or even outwith our budget) would you put in front of him. Jim O'Brien is one of the best players we've had at the club in a long time and I think we should try and keep him. This has been the most enjoyable start to a season I can remember for long and weary. I really don't see the point in 'making up' negativity to spoil it!
  4. Sounds like a few are going to Real Madrid games. If you think JOB isn't a decent player for MFC to have on their books then you've not been coming to Fir Park that long and you're expectation is higher than Jose Mourinho's.
  5. He should have been booked - and the best way was for Forbes to have taken a quick free kick straight off him instead of patiently waiting. wrt his goal celebration - Adebayor was punished in England for exactly the same thing in terms of a ban. If somone has the neck to do it next week in the OF derby there will be a yellow / a rammy / a press inquisition etc.etc. However that doesnt deflect anything away from the pilchards who threw stuff on. takes the heat of Zemmamma and puts it on us. As a support we should be raging at 'the twats who threw things' I've said many times - we will be made an example of by the SPL or the SFA sooner or later due the behaviour in the stands. We're an easier target than the OF and the authorities will love to do it. We're determined to make it easy for them.
  6. It's maybe 'another' £200 per week (on top of what hes getting). If they're playing hardball, which I don't necessarily believe, then so be it. Motherwell will go on and they'll be remembered in the way that McCormack and Pearson have been as opposed to Clarky, Faddy and Porter. I've heard the rumour that a deal was already done with Celtic for 40K for Slane, MMcG had agreed it, Slane is Celtic minded etc etc etc. if that was the case then why is he still here??? What will be etc.
  7. O'Brien signed a 2yr deal last summer - so is free to look around in January
  8. McHugh had a mare when he came on - I'm not having a go at him other than observing that he gave the ball away every single time without exception. I don't think there's anything to panic about. Big Lucas will come good. Cast your mind's back to July when we had nae players and nae manager. To be where we are now is just an immense achievement. This could easily have been like the post administration season a young team getting pounded week in week out. it looks as if it'll be nothing like that fortunately.
  9. No real complaints about yesterday - we didn't really get into our stride for long enough spells. Still it's exciting times at Fir Park and we've got a great young side led by an exciting manager. We will have more results / performances like that - however I think they'' be outweighed by positive shit. C'mon the Well
  10. Nah mate unfortunately we stepped back afer 20 odd issues or so. In the day's before easy desktop publishing on PCs it became a real bind - typewriters, actual physical cutting and pasting etc. That GLF masthead was originally done by one of the founders in the old fashioned cut out the letters from the newspaper and stick them on. It's great to see it still in use. The guys these days have it easy It's a testimony to the guys involved that they're both still going.
  11. On the Billy Bragg slant. We actually interviewed him at the Barras, Gave him a t-shirt with the Charlie Aitken GLF Cover (the first claret and amber masthead) and he dedicated Waiting for the Great Leap Forward to us on the night. The full interview is at this page. It's a bit of an epic - but it's good to look back on it.
  12. Yes! Seemed to fit perfectly with us paitiently waiting for us to do something big. Great times!
  13. Standing at the football is fine as long as it doesnt affect another supporters enjoyment. There should be proper standing areas and the end section of the East Stand seems the best area for this to be allowed at Fir Park. Manhandling by stewards isn't really on. Calling them paedos en masse isn't really on (and lessens any of the legitimate gripes anybody has) It's something that should have been effectively sorted a long time ago between the club, the stewards and the police and a consistent and enforcable solution clearly introduced for home and away supports no matter how big Some of the behaviour at the deep end is crigeworthy though.

First things first - i don't think anybody is defending the guy against "failed to impress" type comments. If that were the case folk would let that go. The comments folk are responding to are that Lukas for some bewildering reason has been written off. That he's 'rubbish', he's 'shit', 'he'll never do'. Maybe these guys forget are are too young to remember some of the really disheartening times we've had watching sides that have got us relegated in the past. When there was probably a justification for the vein busting tirades that are going on. My money's on Jim Gannon and Davie Moyes being closer to being right than the East Stand Strictly Come Dancing Judging Panel. We're unbeaten domestically and we still feel a need to air our negativity and vent our anger at a 20 year old player that the manager has obvious faith in. Like I say some of you watch too much of Real Madrid and Man Utd on the telly.

I know that a fud sat behind me actually cheered when it happened. I think I heard "He's fuckin pish" at least 60 times Hopefully the big man will turn it round soon. A goal will help. Maybe it would have been better if he managed to wrestle that ball from O'Brian for the penalty vs Rangers.
  18. Some of our support just watch too much Real Mafuckindrid
  19. I hope big Lucas (and Gannon) prove you all wrong. Ye of little faith (and constant need of something to kick)

Hallelujah! The Lip69 is human! Is Alive, Can be Humourous! (or lets someone else post on his PC when he's away putting a kitchen knife through some weans fitba) Nice one mate!
  21. Agree with all of your post (again) Yir - However the quoted part is something that really pisses me off. The stick The Duke was getting from the first kick of the ball was uneccessary. he's a young lad getting some first team football at last and is finding his feet - He had as good as game as many - But the side splitting stick was absolutely cringeworthy. Stay in the house and kick the dug guys!

Like I say a couple of seasons of off the shelf red / yellow catalogue jobs will sort all this out. Time for PSL and the club to really 'not give a fuck' to let folk know exactly what that would like in terms of merch.

Canterbury were culpable for the first batch mate - pressing temp too low. Looks like they might have done t'same with the 1st team kit on Sat.
