I think we need to have some 'real' shitey kits again for a few seasons. . .
  3. On the radio on Sat they were commenting on how he had a reputation for letting the game flow last season but had been 'reigned in' by the supervisors and told to tighten up on a few things. This year his games have been punctuated by letter of the law pish. I started another thread in 'Other Football' while I agree it's a hard job and don't pile in to refs in general. i think the standard is decreasing rapidly - and in Scotland we're seeing the elimination of common sense and the use of discression. How many of the goals were celebrated by players on the running track in England over the weekend - I noticed it all over the place in MOTD and Football league Show round ups as well as in the Manc derby yesterday. The guy at Watford ran down one side of the track slapping all the supporters hands. Up here it's an automatic yellow - a la Hutch at McDairmid. Fuckers might be playing to the letter of the law - but they're killing the game.
  4. He's the dude that reffed the Killy vs Billy game on Sat. Loadsa plaudits last year but someone has had a word in his shell like this year and he's on about 428 yellow and 72 red to date this season! jennings on the bench

  6. Was that addressed at me or milo?
  7. In all seriousness - great times at the 'well.
  8. I still think we're certs for the drop!
  9. I don't miss any of them - including Clarky. This has been the best start to a season I can remember for ages and would not have been possible if all of 'em and the management team hadn't moved on. Motherwell FC is just the best rollercoaster ride ever C'mon the Well!
  10. The jambos have been our biggest rivals for a while. Airdrie can be tasty when they have a team (so we'll have to wait a while for that to return). But Accies is a nothing game. Hamilton are insignificant - should be far more heated than it is - but these days it's just the same as a Killie game or something. Any stattos got attendance figures for us vs the Hackies in the 80's? my memory tells me it was between 8000 and 10000
  11. I wonder what the costs are for redeveloping the East and the Phil O'Donnell as opposed to selling up an moving to the Craig. Two steep sided stands on the existing footprints - with maybe the East a wee bit higher. 'Twould be braw!
  12. I think we should all send big Ruddy a biro in the post this morning!
  13. See to be 100% honest - i don't find OF games that much worse than any others.
  14. To be honest I kinda suspected that Obviously his memory's going then! We definitely improved the well turn out significantly over those years.
  15. I disagree with those points mate sorry. Maybe I'm a wee bit longer in the tooth tho - but as guys like Special AKA and fatcalf will tell you - supporting 'well at Fir Park on an OF day in the 70s and 80s was an Olympic Sport. you either mingled with them on the terracing behind either goal, headed to the enclosure (the terracing used to be open in front of the Main Stand) flitted to the Main itself or if you were a brave un you manned the thin C&A line in the covered enclosure (East Stand) - the latter being the choir area. Over the years we complained about poor segregation and an area for 'well fans and slowly but surely more area was set aside for us and more and more people started to support the team. hat's of to John Chapman for listening to that at the time. My own personal opinion is that the well support grew and grew til the late nineties early naughties until we were in the position when we had a decent support in the stadium. A huge turnaround from where we were in the 70s. For various reasons - intimidation not being one of them (well not the main one anyway) - the whole thing has gone back the way and these are the things that the club (re pricing etc) need to look at. While I've acknowledged that the prices are 'breathtaking' and there's an argument that some couldn't legitimately afford to come and support the well on days like saturday (or had other regular commitments etc) - but that can't possibly be the only reason. The challenge for the club is to encourage those who can afford it to NOT watch it on the telly but be at the stadium. (whether that's through pricing or other incentive schemes) And on your final point - whilst I accept your criticism of their support. As a well fan of approaching 40 years we no longer have the moral high ground. in a lot of instances we're just as bad as them. We need to stop thinking that we're better.
  16. I was at the game myself that day and can assure you that the well fans over on the far left hand side were outnumbered 6 to 1. Didny stop me bouncing aroun like a loonie though
  17. I agree with that steelboy. Although I remember Skippy Sunday when the Coop was full of 'incognito' Celtic fans who attempted to rearrange my ribs for celebrating the goals. There are reasons for people staying away - some legitimate like we all agree and there difficult ones to get around (if you don't have the cash you don't have the cash). the intimidation one isn't one I agree with as I've always attended OF games since my old man took me in the 70s The more of us that attend the less intimidated we'll feel. The figures nonetheless are really disappointing.

I'm sure Frazzle said it was the Friday of the September weekend or something
  19. Ouch! sair wan! Overall thats exceptionally poor figures. To counter that I remember when a huge percentage of the well support stayed away (pre seating) and with proper segregation (aided by some airing of viewpoints by the fledgling GLF and OSB fanzines) we built it over time until we had a real healthy support for OF games at FP. Ticket pricing, The Coop debacle and live telly for almost all games have reversed the positive trend. Lets try and build the support up again rather than revert to handing the Cooper back. I hope the club can look at initiatives to turn this round. A few of us on here would be willing to sit down with the club and try and come up with something. (since the MST have eloped with our dosh) Please don't give the Cooper back to the OF!

I'd check the official site - or several posts as far back / as recent as the previous page where its 24th september
  21. We are in a catch 22 at the moment. The clubs need vasts amount of money each year to survive and every pound is a prisoner. there's no guarantee that reduced prices significantly increase the crowd. So the clubs find themselves in the position that the have to charge excessive gate prices to balance the books. in effect we continue to live way outwith our means. The SPL need to identify a revenue source - whether its TV money or league position prize money or a levy on transfer fees - I dunno SOMETHING. And a percentage of that increasing money year on year goes on 'Admission Price Reduction' If it's something they want to do then as a business they need to start an initiative and they need to fund it. The question is is the willingness there? Year on year - they tell us things are great and they change nothing. Year on year the fans tell 'em admission prices are too high and playing each other 4 times a season is pish. My money's on them only listening after 'the big crash'. Like a few on here say regularly - bring on the big crash!

As you'll see from the support at all the games the vast vast majority of home tops have been fine. I bought a few canterbury items for myself and know a few others that have done likewise (the home top included) and have had zero problems. Theyare bang on. There was a problem with the JAXX logo from Canterbury's end (the fucked up the pressing temperature I think) which was sorted for folks who took em back to the shop as was the case for everybody who took a legitimate complaint back. Canterbury as a manufacturer and Provan as a retailer need to honour their legal obligations. IF you bought a shirt and IF it was dodgy you'd be well within your rights to take it back. So my top was absolutely spot on (and I take it it's the same for all the dudes wearing them to all the games) - So. Do you want to believe that story? - or is it better to be scared off?
  23. Aye - I think we'll continue the run - but it'll be with two draws and a win - I think 5 from the next 3 games.
  24. You've no idea how calm I am - totally 'serene' mate. Was just posting my view that's all
