  1. Gannon's continually asking the players to play high tempo balls on the deck - and Craigan plays the ball long and high (more often than not in the direction of Sutton, funnily enough). I thought at the game and on the ALBA replay Reynolds looked to do that as often as he could - I think he'll be our future captain under Gannon. If Dundee come in on Monday with twa beano's and a roller skate for hammel - I'd take it.
  2. 90 minutes of football later!

Belter Dave - Well done me lad!
  6. It's risky for the players - some of them have been in a cushy number for a wee while. Getting on the transfer merry-go-round for some of them coul be risky right enough as the first division might be beckoning.
  7. If this is indeed the case then it isn't a negative. The tail shouldn't be wagging the dog. If some of the guys have a problem than it shows them up in a worse light than Gannon.
  8. We usually take a good crowd away to the first game of the season when we're on the road. i was just wondering if anyone had heard whether it would be all ticket when we play Cosgroves Codgers? I'm away from Thursday this week so need to get plans in place to get hold of a brief should it be a ticket job.
  9. A Dougie Arnott or Tommy Coyne would be good. The lad McHugh looke as if he has the potential to develop that nuisance value that the wee man had. Doug must have been a nightmare to play againgst the amount of free kicks and turned inside out defenders he created with his in yer face play was amazing. & by fuck did he know where the net was.
  10. Rab McKinnon had a ginger pubic wan Andy Harrow had a cad's moustach did he no'?
  11. I think it's pretty obvious and unfortunate that Fitzy has been affected by hawf the east and cooper stands as well as the opposition midfield breathing down his neck. Like a few he plays better away from home. For me thats a sad indictment of us. I wish him nothing but the best - no matter what happens. Many were like Forbes when they came into the team, Fitzy included - it's just that unfathomable thing about whether they develop into a darling like Lasley or a boo boy target like Fitzy that I canny get ma napper round
  12. I'm glad it looks pish. The sooner we get back to punters through the gate funding the game the better. Football packages, if we really cant stop whoring the game on behalf of the arm chair supporter brigade, should be limited the best one or two games on each particular card that weekend and not a service for OF and EPL glory hunters having their away games covered. And if a team plays defensive guff - I'm thinking Kilmarnock and St Mirren here - they should give a portion of their TV money back.
  13. Anybody likely to come in over the weekend?
  14. Aye but sometimes you've got a split second
  15. I'm sure he'll improve Melv. I thought in the two games he's played that some of the play passed him by - a bit off the pace - looked like he knew what he wanted to do but his body was too slow to react. He looks an effective tackler and I think he's a good passer who always looks to find a man in C&A. I actually think he's in decent shape and fit enough - it's probably a sharpening up / better match fitness that I think he'll benefit from. i think we'll start to see him coming on to a game in the SPL 5 or 6 games in. Like I mentioned in an earlier post somewhere - sometimes you get that with guys that come up from the lower leagues in England. Might be on a par techically - but the pace of the game is faster.
  16. Corrigan and Philliben had some bad luck for us. Andy Lynch was funny for the Sellick in the 70's - he was nearly the leagues top scorer one year. I remember big Silkie Wilkie had a poor spell whilst a Dens as well
  17. I'm not having a go 'Trucks', but is there anybody that you rate currently in the team?
  18. Giles Coke Butler (as per johnstone), Farmer, Dukey R, Rampant
  19. It's a fair point. The press talking the game down is one of the strands that need to be addressed. We need to begin talking the game up in terms of realistic expectations - before we can improve. We need to encourage bums on seats and kids feet on the end of a football - not the reverse. We need to improve as a nation - aye. But we're not as bad as the press make out - well maybe The Dons are an exception. But you get my drift.
  20. I know Hippo mate - was just trying to get the balance in early doors WF1984 - cheers mate (can I have my warning reduced btw - I've stopped trying to be funny, trolling n that)
  21. Was thinking that myself - I imagine we've registered him with our FA - for UEFA to accept his registration in the squad.
  22. I'm not having a go, and I don't suggest that any have been deliberate, but does anyone know how many goal line clearances and last gasp tackles Craigan has put in for us?
