From here on in referred to as 'Bogart'

Fair enough although I think most on here are talking out their arse as fatcalf has said. making it up as they go along. You or anyone else have no evidence to suggest due dilligence wasn't done. It's quite a bold statement to make - bordering libel if you're wrong. I'll be a dissenting voice and suggest that it WAS done and it threw up no problems - but hey like yourselves I'm just guessing I'll also suggest that guys at PSL worked hard to give the fans the very best that could be provided. They wanted to deliver a belter of a kit in both design and technical properties. The difference on opinion on quality I believe is down to the fine material - that I believe is a perception thing and perfectly understandable. Guys in the know have posted that it's techically one of Canterburys more advanced fabrics. there's a perception amongst some though that it's poor quality because it's not as thick as the Bukta efforts (a material with completely different properties). There's also a perception amongst some that it's great and they love it. So hardly a closed case. The other thing I would say is - it's been the most popular kit launch in donkeys. many people have bought it and have worn it proudly at the games yet haven't posted on a forum or taken the thing back to the club. i'm sure it was said earlier that there were very few returns. The poorest thing for me is the level of venom that surfaces for people with the club at heart trying to deliver something that fans want. It's inexcusable and wish you could put yourself in their shoes for a couple of minutes. Rant over

Just to be clear airfinz - here's what i posted earlier. maybe i should have put a smiley at the end of the smartass knitted jersey comment

Kinda got me thinking on the old SPL set-up. The transparancy from every single one of the clubs and their voting intensions on major issues is non existent
-
Theirs is printed too - allows a number to be transferred on. Ours is printed (and hooped) for the first time since the Tommy Coyne Pony job and is also on the new material that N91 mentions. it's quite a fine material - which some folk are equating to cheap. Looks like well need to get back to a hand knitted fucker so folk feel they're getting quality man!
-
I read the retraction / correction and leeann's post on here pretty soon after that though - Did you not see any of it. But like yourself I prefer to dwell on the original mistake and ill judged statement. the club are a disgrace.
-
I noticed that as well - what a disgrace. and the grass didn't have a pattern mown into it yet!
-
Let's guess or make loads of other things up and then criticise the club. I'm all for it. the more the better. They are a disgrace.

I'm not missing that point at all BB. I've got a shirt and I really like it - I don't have any qualms with the quality at all - others have posted the same. There are a few who don't like it and feel the quality's inferior - that's cool too - a few have posted that opinion . That's based on what people can actually touch and feel and the difference of opinion is there. No arguments with that. It's been stated that this has been one of the most successful kit launches ever at MFC so some folks are happy - but maybe not as vocal as you or I. My point is more around that there have been some bold statements made about the way business decisions have been taken, lack of due dilligence, getting into bed with the "first tart that drops her drawers", etc. All of which are a bit risky to make without the facts if you ask me. And I don't have any of them either btw. Scotland rugby, Preston, Portsmouth & various top club rugby sides (league and union) have all been affected by this - why should our criticism of the motherwell decision be that - we're amateur, we didn't do due dilligence we never ran credit checks? The SFA are now in the same boat with Diadora. As a business man yourself - you'll know it's carnage at the moment all over the shop.
-
What a bunch of ignorant (in the purest sense of the word) insensitive tossers some of you are. PSL - I'm pretty sure have been dealing with Canterbury for long and weary as they supply other sports clubs outwith football. Rugby Cricket etc. So rolling that out to MFC wasn't necessarily a step into the unknown. I don't think they are that big an outfit - but know (not guess) that those involved in putting a strip together that met the fans wishes worked really hard on it. I know that they are as big a Motherwell fan as any of us other sad gits on here. If only you knew! claretbandonambershirt (and it's a fucking hoop) and TheLip etc - get a fuckin grip would ya. banding about the stuff that your banding I'm pretty sure isn't accurate or helpful. This ain't Real Madrid
-
Nah nobody's as clever as you Lipster. I guess all the other guys that signed contract with canterbury are fuds as well - all the rugby teams, portsmouth, preston etc etc.
-
Could be another new strip this season. outwith the control of the club and provan. I'd imagine they're no skipping through the daisies at the moment. Don't let any of that get in the way of yer feelings for the poor sods that have just been chucked on the dole tho!
-
Unless someone takes them over as a going concern the baw could effectively be on the slates. Like all businesses will become clear in the next few days / weeks. Could be anything from a relatively painless changeover to a total back to the drawing board scenario. BBC article states all contracts have been cancelled.

I'd like him to stay as I think hes a good player pure and simple - but like yourself Melv - i think he's off. However in staying I wouldn't like hime to skew the wage structure too much and there are guys already here that are worth a good wage. Robyn - I'm not doubting your info for a second mate, thanks for all so far, however - Hughes knows where Fir park is - surely him or his agent shouldn't be averse to contacting the club and putting their cards on the table. A wee bit pro-activity.

How very Ice-Rink

And Portsmouth . . . . . and Preston. At least we got a chance to wear our new kits in a competitive match. In all seriousness though. This looks like a major problem for clubs to have signed up with canterbury and similarly Diadora. Unfortunately a sign of the times and sleeves will have to be rolled up (pardon the pun) to turn this around. I know how hard the guys have worked to bring the new kit about - so I'm gutted for them if they have to turn this round.

It was nice to have had the hoop - would like to see a diagonal pettigrew band on the new Umbro one for Perth.

Is There Anybody Or Anything That Our Support Actually Likes?
Steve Diggle replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
Be serious you -
If this forum is representative of our support. I'm just wondering that with Clarky now gone if there's anything or anybody left at the club we allegedly support that we actually like. I think over the last few weeks if I'm not wrong I'm picking up that every single one of our players is shite, our officials couldny run a grand national sweepstake and just generally everything about our club is just plain old piss poor. I reckon the best use of the recent transfer fees woild be to invest in some huge fuck off mirrors that face into the stands so that every single one of us could have a long hard fucking look at ourselves. I actually think we're getting worse! I reckon in the last week or so every single element of our club from top to bottom has been slated.

I agree with that Siebster - we've all seen what Murphy can do when he's on song. So his ability and skill are not in question. It's just a case of seeing if he can resurrect that form on a regular basis. That'll need a) hard work and belief in his own ability on his part b) good coaching and support from the manager and c) patience and support from the support. He's obviously fucked wrt to c) so hopefully a) and b) can kick in.

Things are close to getting out of hand. Of cousrse we're entitled to information and in the past in some cases it's been poor (like the pitch situation last year) However huge strides forward have been taken - downside is - some folk appear to want to know what washing powder the the ticket office staff use and question their preference for tablets over thon new gel stuff - and when they don't get an answer throw some kind off wobbly. We need to understand that this is the close season and at a club like ours the pumps can't possibly be manned 24/7.
