    Setanta

Setanta by and large are a public service broadcast for OF fans who don't travel to away matches. I believe they've damaged the image of the game here by primarily showing OF away games as opposed to the best game on the card. Even Sellicks WGS mentioned this yesterday. There's just so much wrong with the Setanta TV deal it's hard to stop once you've got started. Shit games, no atmosphere, empty seats, OF away fans and their filthy mouths, shit coverage, shit commentators, craig burley, scott booth, the fact that its an 'over and above' charge for sky customers. . . . . . . . . . Exactly the image we want to broadcast around the world.
  2. There's no reason for us to turn into old firm fans. It was bad and extremely disappointing today of course. However lets hope starting tomorrow some necks get wound back in. I think this has been a disappointing season both on the park and in the stands.
  3. Lumpin Fuck - It must have taken you ages to come up with that unadulterated shite.
  4. BBC reckoned we'd have 2 home games left - Accies and Inverness. Don't know how they know - but that's what they figured.
  5. Sounds extremely ugly - let's hope no-one has a photo of that!
  6. Yeah agree with that. They say that the league is won over an entire season. Why cant it be the same for a euro spot. take this artificial race for the Top 6 away - and you've got the same teams chasing for the title, the same teams trying to avoid the drop - BUT you've just cut one of the teams chasing a euro spot out the race into no mans land. I think it's unfair on Hibs or ourselves for that to happen.
  7. That's a fair point Melvin - the recent Killie game being an example. All the talk in build up about the prep and staying overnight beforehand etc. then we turn up and play like it's a friendly. i much prefer it when McGhee and the players do their talking on the park.

Getting away from the SteelmenOnline love in and back to the thread. . . . Should be another teaser on Saturday
  9. I'd agree with that. Although one of these days more will come off for them than it did on Monday. The Hibs keeper had a couple of saves, albeit from his own defenders once or twice but I think on another day they'd have done better. What I worry about though is. . . . . If theres ever a team on a stinking run that needs a win. If ever there's a strikeforce / striker that haven't scored for months. Then I'm afraid too often historically Fir park is the place to come Motherwell 5, Aberdeen 6 anybody?
  10. I'm not too worried on who hangs around and who doesn't to be honest. If these players have decided to go then there's nothing we can do - we shouldn't go chasing them with silly wage offers. Motherwell will go on as we have done many many times. I hope Klimpl stays - he's been great since he's come in and probably owes us a wee bit due to the first loan period being wiped out with injury. I think he 'wants' to stay. Hughes and Buzz - I'm convinced are already away - so Cheerio and thanks guys. i genuinely don't think there's any chance of any of those two staying. McGhee should be planning for life without them. lets hope McGhee gets out of the starting blocks this close season - because he was way off the pace last summer - and we suffered badly from that. I hope he's learned about the loan deal fiascos. On saying all of that. I'm planning on renewing, Mibbez. I think. probably!
  11. I thought they played 'well against Hibs to be fair. We'll need to be up for it and break a couple of hoodoos in the process - The Live TV one and the Getting everyone in for cheap then playing like a bunch of haddies one. Still I think we can do it.
  12. Yep - looks like £16 for the lower section and £22 for the upper. they'll probably send us upper tickets first.
  13. We'd let midfield dynamo Bob Malcolm go for £500K Gareth - Tell Dave this offer expires at the end of the week.
  14. Yep you're right airfinz - I think there's always an early bird offer with ST prices - my point was about football prices in general Hearts look to have dropped their STs by 25% (might be an early bird offer hidden in there) - plus there's a £1 per game deal for kids. offers on merch etc. Hibs have rolled back to 2007 prices, have a structured kids pricing starting at £30. have a cup deal where you pay £25 extra and get admission to ALL cup games at Easter Road - (which is a gamble as it could be anything from 0 to 5 games). They appear to have early bird offers on top of that - plus offers on club shop merchandise. Hibs info from Scotsman Jambo Info Like I say while the club should be commended for freezing prices I think overall football is too dear and clubs need to reduce or incentivise. I'm not having a go at the club here, however theres a risk that our ST deal might end up falling a fair bit behind other SPL teams.
  15. A great announcement by the club overall I think. Great that the Cooper decision has been reversed and hope that we can replicate that CIS quarter final support level vs Rangers at least - every time they visit. Great that they have reduced prices for Sat - didn't expect that to happen and for prices to be cut as significantly is amazing to be honest. I hope every seat in the house is full for this to maximise the return for the club and create a great atmosphere. Good that season ticket prices have been held. Like a few have said - other clubs are taking money off (I think I've read that Hibs and Hearts at least - have rolled prices back) and a reduction would have been better. Football is way overpriced and prices need to come down. However the decision not to increase prices should be commended. I think all clubs will be hit at the turnstiles next year regardless.
  16. I'm more than likely a renewal for next season. i think though that there's a possibility that the dosh could be used for some music gear if the club do something daft with the prices or don't have a decent think about enhancing the deal (friendlies / cups). The fact that the SPL clubs don't seem to be talking about season ticket / admission prices worries me a wee bit I must say.
  17. Serious question though on the legislation for keeping us in. What is the legal grounding? I would say 'well fans were being allowed to leave up until 89 mins and it was only after the final whistle went that the entrance was blocked. We were held for no more than 5 mins then allowed out into the free-flowing crowds of Rangers fans outside who had merely been given a head start. If I understood the announcement they were asking us to stay behind for health and safety reasons. It looked more like it was enforced by means of a police line across the exit route. If I really wanted to walk out 'as a free man, so to speak' - what legally was the document that I'd have been cautioned / stopped on?
  18. Nah mate! Currently it's John Boyle's racehorse - we just turn up at the races to watch it run. We don't have any 'ownership' of the club - even season ticket holders.
  19. The way St Mirren played last night vs the way we played on Saturday = only one winner I'm afraid (and it ain't us) We seriously need to grow a set of live TV haw maws and go for a result to get top 6. if we go out like we did against Kilmarnock a couple of weeks back than frankly we dont deserve anything. This live TV nonsense has to stop. Forget the hoodoo - get out there and play with some urgency and heart! We seriously need the team to turn up! I don't expect anything on prices btw - this could be our last decent gate of the season. I think it will be full price.
  20. I'm disappointed in our inability to stop a really poor Rangers team look good. Our start was really off the pace and we got royally shafted - however we played ourselves back in with some nice posession football. I thought we played really poorly in a defensive sense throughout the game though - our urgency in shutting them down all over the park at times was really poor - (get some McLean era videos out). some bad decisions but we can't really argue at all I don't think. The optimism of pushing for the top 6 took me into Ibrox for the first time in many moons. Won't be back though. there's so much wrong with it - from the search on entering the ground, through the treatment of our fans vs the treatment of theirs plus the holding us back after the final whistle (what actually is the legal position on that?). For £23.50 you end up feeling completely shafted. They can ram it right up their shiter!

In any particular year - Buy the shirt / don't buy the shirt. I've followed 'well for 35 years - sometimes you get the shirt sometimes you don't. I reckon there are more important things in life believe it or not - it's not a gun to the head thing. If all this 'deliberate' messing about with timing impacts shirt sales overall - it will be 'well, provan and CCC that suffer not you or I. Conspiracy, Schponspiracy!

There are many things that can and should be levelled at the club. insinuating that they deliberately meddle with timing of deals with shirt sponsors and kit suppliers to fleece the fans is one I'm not quite with you on Frazzle me old son!
