The avatar is an album cover - from an album that's already released and that and the artwork are already in the public domain - the record company have already done their marketing - plus it's way detached from MFC and the content of this MFC forum. Canterbury, Motherwell FC, Provan Sports etc want to let their advertising / promotional campaign run its course, generate interest in the new Motherwell kit and maximise benefit to all involved. What I think they're trying to stop is people thinking that designs posted on here as their work when its not - to prevent anyone thinking that designs or products are sub-standard. The guy that removed the images is a massive Motherwell fan - works with Provan - and I'm sure has worked hard to get a great design out there for his beloved team. I'm pretty sure most folk can understand that standpoint - if they stop and think.

Fixed that mate!

I suppose someone had to bring it to a head!

Well done on quoshing the rumour. Good luck to Clyde Good to see that there's a commitment to get our pitch sorted and there's also a commitment for a bit of transparency on the ongoing works. This reaction to a scandalous rumour puts what loads of people were saying about the scandalous situation of the failure to fix our pitch last year into perspective quite nicely for me though. i.e. if we were all wrong - the club would have quickly responded to quosh the rumours and accusations. A wee bit of an apology of some description or some sort of acknowledgement that the fans were actually correct, would be good at some point

I think that's a good post Grew

That's the chain of acne posts brought to a grinding halt then

That was the other one that was just deleted. We're going round in 'hoops' here. Posting dodgy links should be 'band' It's magic how Canterbury have created that wrong angle / slightly too high up the shirt / dodgy paintshop effect for the band / hoop.
-
It was previously posted and its not the strip Edit: and the arms (a big part of any shirt) are a different colour to this years shirt. I hope it looks like a Motherwell shirt which will be similar to the one we've had for long and weary

Do you think we'll have to squeeze John Boil to fund his wages?

It's no' that pimple you know!

Bottom line is that the multi million dollar film industry can consolodate all their costs etc and deliver a product across the UK for less than a tenner. the multi million dollar football industry can't work together to compete with that - through it's fragmented, baboons fighting for the last banana, greed fuelled structure. We've benefitted in football from several years of relatively healthy economics whereby most of us have disposable income of a weekend and several significant price hikes have meant that attendances have remained stable. Things have just gone over the cliff and the whole landscape has just changed.

I know Flow - i was just (admittedly) sarcastically pointing out that you hadn't mentioned it. Sorry I can imagine that the club must be 'trepidatious' about next season - and given we went out on a limb with admission prices and (he diplamatically suggests) didn't get it 100% correct will have frustrated. The failure of the clubs (The SPL) as a group to acknowledge the situation is simply turkeys standing idly about waiting for Christmas.
-
Yeah - like I say - that's all noted and agreed. they are two totally different things - but they're arguing for 90 mins of our attention at the weekend. but people, when times are tight, don't give a flying hoot about how much a football club cost to run vs a cinema. The cinema and similar then have the advantage. It's now down to the football clubs to get 8000+ people paying 12-15 quid a game as opposed to 4000 paying £20. Like we heard the clubs did in France - take the TV money and reduce admission prices. People are all on 4 day weeks and fearing for their future and are clearly hanging on tightly to their dosh. If on a saturday the cinema proves to better value for the family, or a couple, or a particular individual - then the running costs and loyalty and all those other factors wont come into it - it'll a pure VFM decision.
-
That rules out admission prices and travel costs and the economy then . Glad that there isn't a problem at all then - as you were chaps! One day - soon I hope - the penny will drop
-
The cinema argument is perfectly valid. It's an alternative for the fans £s - so its valid. There may be an imbalance in the cost to stage each of the different events. But all the alternatives to entertaining you and your family of a Saturday are valid arguments. And thats something that the clus and their running costs and wages etc have to live with. Whether its going to other sports, the pub, shopping, buying music, watching music, theatre, DIY - all alternative routes for the football supporters money. Detween the clubs, the authorities & the TV people something drastically needs to be done. Prior to us winning the cup it cost what £6 to get in to Fir Park? and it cost a tenner for a CD. It still costs a tenner (or less for a CD) The price of football has gone through the roof compared to other leisure activities. With the bollocks of the economy shrinking into its wee sac - Football clubs are on the brink lads.
-
That's just complete and utter bollocks. (although I didn't vote for him as MOTM) There's no point in answereing the individual points you're making - they're just all shite Well perhaps. . . . . . . . do you honestly think a player switches wing 'just because they fancy a change of scenery'?

Having bad skin is no reason to oxycute the guy. . .

Clubs must be bricking themselves for next season. If they don't pitch pay-at-the-gate and season ticket prices correctly it could be a catastrophe for some clubs. They'll make an arse of it as usual as from every issue from pricing to league reconstruction they've never ever had the balls / bottle to do the right thing.
-
I'm not really sure what the club can and can't legally do in this situation. Whether any employer can fire your ass if you've been convicted of a serious criminal offence ouside work. I'm sure there's a high likelihood they can - particularly if they say they're damaging the image or reputation of the company by what's happened. Someone else here will probably know. The guy pled guilty so - looks like he felt it was a fair cop. We don't really know if the club have dealt with him or not. But it's obvious even from discussions here - it reflects badly on the MFC. In the case of Quinn - he was found guilty after pleading not guilty and appealled the decision (dunno if that's been heard or not). He was disciplined by the club (stripped of captaincy) but was that for being found guilty of assault or for being in thon pub in Wishy in the early hours when he got skelped? i canny remember. In the case of Malcolm - who knows why we even went there, but he's outwith this discussion as his convictions were prior to his employment with MFC and like anybody employing someone convicted of offences they need to look leniently on them (I think). If the club go down the route of trying to sack this U19 dude (or any subsequent pilock) - then the Quinn case can be put forward by any of them as an example of some level of double standards. I suppose what I'm saying is - the same as many people predicted at the time. Bringing in players like Malcolm and dealing with Quinn in the way that we did - Shows that we'll employ anybody, tolerate serious off field indiscipline & leaves the door open as it always does for others to behave similarly and puts the club in a difficult position with regard to discipline. they can't show one law for a 1st team player and another for an U19.

Belter OCD! - This just sums up the well balanced font of football that is SteelmenOnline

I think people have bad feeling about the way he conducted himself compared to McFadden or Porter - a wee bit of respect for the diddy team that put him in the shop window wouldn't have gone amiss. No-one would deny him the opportunity to earn more money elsewhere - that's commonplace for players who play for us. I'd have him back too - but wouldn't break the bank for him. I think we have decent players here who play consistently well. Pearo's main problem is still - like it was when he was here - overdoing it and losing the ball and missing the opportunity to make a simple pass. he's a good player but this makes him enfuriating to watch at times. The amount of moves that break down due to this are plenty. He's a great finisher tho and his timing of runs into the box could at times be Phil-esque. He's not a c**t for taking a bigger wage elsewhere. Hes's a c**t for the way he done it!
