The first thing that should happen is that betting companies should be stopped from collecting stakes from spot bets. Spot betting on football should be suspended until this investigation is concluded. The next thing should be for lawyers to compile a list of players allowed to play while criminal proceedings are pending, closely followed by unearthing footage of players screaming obsceneties at refs and manhandling them (this could be quite easy - I could point to 4/5 games involving the same two teams) The next thing should be for Steve Jennings acting skills to be recognised - because if you watch the chain of events for the red and come to the conclusion that a player deliberately got himself sent off then your a better man than I. I imagine the police have other surveillance stuff that points the finger at the group involved so I imagine it will be a difficult time for Jenno. You would hope so anyway - whats been divulged so far looks paper thin. The time and resources that this has taken beggars belief (especially considering the pittances that have been reportedly involved). I wish Jenno all the best whatever way this swings. I don't know nowt - however I genuinely think it's cobbled together pish. If he's involved then he's just been an idiot - I'm not gonna condemn the guy though. All the best Steve.

If they charge him it'll be hanging over him for the best part of a year potentially

That's a fair point edward

What you've experienced in the past definitely should colour the way in which you support the team. Although when I look round about me on a Saturday it doesn't appear to be the case - folk who are old enough to have witnessed some of the problematic periods in our recent history still expect us to be Real Madrid. Our overall recent history has been nothing short of outstanding when you weight it up really. We regularly outperform city sides in terms of league position and have regularly been top of the provincials. That's more than I think we are entitled to expect. If come 4.45 on a saturday there are 11-14 Motherwell shirts walking back to the changing room with a fair ammount of honest sweat on them then I'm happy. I don't get pissed off that much by poor performances - I get pissed off when the 'application' and 'effort' isn't right - and from discussions over the lifetime of these boards - I appear to be one of the few that think we have been served, by and large, by players willing to put in a shift more often than not. Our place in the grand scheme of things should be at yo yo club level. Given the size of the town we could quite easily be up and doon like a slappers drawers tha way that falkirk and accies are - and I think that's the part that people fail to acknowledge (their fans pay the same 20 quid we do). I continue to take my hat off to the guys that make Motherwell Football Club an outstanding institution. Given our financial position the on field achievements have been nothing short of incredible (if you care to stop and actually think about it). I'd love to see us continue to play attacking football - something folk want to come and see - and I generall don't get upset at a bad result if we've played well and given it a go & I'd love to see a load of my mates who used to go to games home and away come back in to the fold. And I think the guys in the far end of the East have taken us back in time with the atmosphere they've created - given the sterile environment they have compared to the bad old 70s and 80s their achievents fro St Johnstone Semi Final on have been superb. Times are tough, budgets are tight - but we're fuckin brilliant. Life's too fuckin short for some of this bollocks!

Maybe we're forgetting that some of these managers had piss poor records against say Dundee Utd or Accies or St Mirren - teams round about us in games that really matter. A few managers have been mentioned who've had a recent result or two against the OF - but have been whipping boys for decades most probably preceding that. I'd love to see a whole new approach from McCall in OF matches of course. I'd even go for a large slice of anti fitba against the chunts Is it embarassing - i dunno, not really sure, probably as emabarassing as the rest of the managers and their teams. Probably not a hanging offence. Motherwell and Stuart McCall will be measured by me on the football his team plays on park first and foremost, the development of our youth and the results against those around us. Overall I think he's doing great on 2/3 of them - laggin a bit on the third. perfectly happy with where we are at the moment
-
No that's fine I agree now that he's pish and be sacked forthwith With whom shall we replace him?
-
it would be what? i.e. compared to 'someone elses' record whom would be compared to just someone else - that just wouldn fit right. It's the records of people we're comparing not the people themselves so its a 'what'

The smoke bomb is irrelevent. if someone brings it in then the authorities deal with that using the regs that are in place for that. There shouldn't be ad hoc / knitted rules in place to stop people bringing flags into the ground when they've sought approval and it's been granted. So the folk were entitled to enter the ground yes? So the folk had gained prior approval for displays etc. yes? So they shouldv'e got in - pretty simple So anybody bringin a smoke bomb will get chucked oot yes? Aye, I think everybody gets that. you can't make the rules up as you go along and the two things aren't related. I'm pretty sure the boys would have offered up their displays for inspection after having taken the trouble to gain approval

Compare and contrast with the sickening man love afforded the wonderful Bob Malcolm when he scored after the ball ricocheted off his wee tadger Canny figure it maself
-
Don't mess with albi - he'll cut you in two with a side splitting animated gif any minute
-
Being discussed on the match thread
-
I'd also add a photo of the section at Fir park to show them how good it looks in a stadium when you guys are in full swing
-
Decent stuff Dee - can't think of much to add. The only thing would be include the bit about being stopped from heading round to the office for clarification of their initial approval.
-
All of it - it's pish. His teammates were delighted he scored as were most of the fans. Maybe his teammates wouldn't have been on his case what information do you have to support this theory that they'd have been raging or do you have info that secretly the other 10 players are east stand knuckle draggers as well? Higdon himself took advantage of a slip up in their defence and converted it (he didn't latch onto a pass from one of his own players and no-one was there in support)He wouldn't have let anyone down. How do you know his teammates wil have given him pelters?? What planet does this made up pish come from?? This ulta aggressive scrutiny of everything the guy does is perverse. All this "he might have scored two but one was a penalty and one wasn't world class" nonsense is just fuckin wrong. I'll say it again - see you c***s - gonny fuck off and 'support' someone else You're an embarrassment!
-
Nothings ever good enough for some of you c***s is it?

Keith Lasley - Is He Having His Best Season So Far?
Steve Diggle replied to David's topic in Club Chat
It's his wee short hairy legs - fuckin marvellous. -
Aye you'll be OK mate - you had a bit of a wobble and spoke some shite - but that shouldn't stop you coming to the next match.
-
It's disappointing these fans are so vocal and to the extent that its got the management and squad talking about the booing and the media also reporting it. Do they have the right to be delighted when we win via a Lasley strike and a Higdon double. Do they fuck. They should have a wee quiet word with themselves and go to the next game and contribute positively to the support.
-
The quotes were to show what you were "really" saying. Which you went on to do again btw.
-
Sounds like a pathetically veiled grudging comment to me. "He might have had a good game and he might have scored a few goals but I still think he's pish and I'll let him know as soon as things take a turn for the worst." Yet as many have pointed out we've been carrying a few for most of the season who seem immune.
-
The lengths people are going to to defend their right to abuse this player is sickening. Given our current circumstances.
-
Gonna fuck off. Motherwell doesn't need you and your strictly come dancing judge approach to supporting a team
