  1. 2-0 up at half time no reason for anybody to post. Tune in later might be a reason to go radge in the next 45
  2. I think an element being overlooked here (or maybe not) is the patience and perseverance that is required for this to work effectively. I think this is one ad a few significant areas where we fall behind the likes of Dundee Utd. I always go back to Phil. In his first game in a well shirt he got an absolute roasting. An experienced pro in Kenny McDowall (cunt) outmuscled him at every turn. Phil had a mare. It wasn't long though before he was back in. One of my fondest memories of that time was hearing Davie Cooper on Phil's shoulder at every turn encouraging, advising, pushing - an absolute pleasure to witness. My point, whil noting that not all of our youth will be in the Phil mode, is that playing well in the unders is 25% of the journey. The development into a first team regular unless exceptional happens over time in a gradual manner WITHIN the first team. With management and supporters alike having to be patient in the process. On saying that and on a personal note. I've been disappointed in the level of player coming through vs 10-15 years ago. I've also been puzzled in who we've let go and who we've kept. I liked the look of Hetherington for instance - didn't think he did anything wrong in a first team shirt yet - punted. (And probably someone we could have used to rest Lasley or Carswell) As others have mentioned though that's maybe why we're posting pish on the net instead of running a fitba team. Bottom line though is that our youth system and it's relationship with our first team is a wee bit on the rocks of late.
  3. I never defended Nielsen in the post. I just said, and firmly believe, Hollis isn't that much better. Sorry that's what I believe.
  4. I don't think there's that much between our two keepers btw. Unfortunately we just need to get behind them. Giving either a roasting ain't gonna help anything
  5. Our season isn't over. If it was over then we would have played youngsters against Utd & Saints. We'll go out and attempt to get the three points like we always do. As everyone really knows - the higher the league placing the greater the prize money. That's why rightly or wrongly, we've continued with barely fit lasley & Carswell. It's been a struggle this season, what with our budget and an imbalance to the squad and a reduction in quality in key positions. This coupled with the resurgence of the dons and united, with a strong saints and ICT - so sitting third is, in my view, an excellent achievement given the circumstances. Many used to argue the football is unimportant - it's the results and the league placings that count. Perversely were now saying that this season has been a disaster - we're throwing away the league position and results in the argument and placing more importance on our goal difference stat and dips in form. We should have enough to overcome Hearts in our efforts to get as high up the league as we can. We may have some positions we need to strengthen in the summer that McCall will be painfully aware of. We might be making some errors of judgement in team selection, injuries, formation etc. but I'm pretty sure we're gonna play till the last kick of the ball to be as high up the table as we can. I'm not saying that I agree with everything McCall does, far from it in fact. However we all too easily dismiss how difficult the job at MFC is. There's Tons still to play for. (Thousands in fact £) Now, more than ever. Come on The Well!
  6. The much maligned Woods was a lot better. A lot better than the history re-writers would have us believe. But yeah let's talk about the football and leave the abortion chat behind
  7. It's like a flash mob version of that Snickers advert on here tonight. A load of spoilt divas losing their grip on reality. Zip it Shrimpys
  8. Really? We can talk about the merits of the guy, definitely. He's hardly comparable to one of the baw headed billy big baws charlatans that took our payroll for a spin a few years back. He might be havin a mare, but his confidence is shot to fuck and he looks like he wants to be here and be part of the club and tries to get a rapport with the fans, particularly the bois. In my humble opinion - no matter what - he doesn't deserve the outburst above.
  9. An obvious point must be that the other 10 must be dire if the poor guys being called into action constantly Mibbez
  10. Kallum Higginbotham by a mile :-)
  11. Exactly. Great 90 mins with the game swinging from end to end. Nae need to pick the guts out it or single anybody out for a doin.
  12. I don't think it was as poor as some are contesting
  13. Now that's just pish. Just watch the goal again. Maybe he should have held or parried in a different direction, yes. But get up and follow the ball - impossible. Following the dodgy parry - I'm sad to say 'failure to react' award goes to hammell. If he matches Rooney's run in he might not get a clear header.
  14. I'd leave the talking to his brother Gordon. Big Gunnar might no be the best but I bet he doesn't get folks names mixed up
  15. It doesn't have to be an 'either or'
  16. OK I'll get it out there. Dropping a point yesterday wasn't solely down to the keeper.
