  1. Personally - the repetetive nature of playing each other 4 times is the biggest factor (6 if it's Dundee Utd obviously). Barring disasters I've got next seasons ST money sorted - I'm fortunate in that, I know, it's important but it's not the over-riding factor for me. I could probably stomach another couple of seasons at current prices if the SPL attempted something to improve entertainment. I think as we seen with Nancy - TV money subsidising gate prices is great. and it's something we should at least be aspiring to. I remember the 10 team league and it was the biggest pile of fear filled dross going. Fear does not equal excitement or entertainment. It's the exact opposite. While we're on TV - we need to move away from the 'old firm on their travels information service'. Pick the best game on the card. Let clubs fill their stadium with their own fans when the OF are in town. TV coverage for me is the biggest factor in our poor attendances vs those lot.
  2. The answer to that isn't a guess Jay - as we've been there before. It's dire, negative, fear filled, stalemate, park the bus SHIIITE! Agreed?
  3. 2 x 15 = 30 plus 1 x 7 = 37 - thats one game more than 4 x 9 =36 And instead of the farce we have now where the black magic smoke and mirrors fixture committee go away and knit a shreddies post split fixture list we have it mapped out befor the season starts so every team knows where they stand. If you finish first - you play team 2, 5 and 7 away plus 3,4 6 aqnd 8 at home How fuckin difficult is something like that. Move back to sharing gates more evemly and hay presto shares in Andrex go down
  4. I get what you're saying - but I genuinely think that this is different this time round. I don'y have to accept anything (that's not a dig at your point just a statement on where i think we are) Too many negatives are colliding at the one time. In the past many have accepted and shuffled along I sense a sea change This is a genuine clifftop
  5. How funny would it be if they took cognicence of this and voted against it Here's a suggestion - get back to the drawing board. Take 'Long Term Vision', 'Pricing', 'Entertainment', 'Youth Development', 'Proper TV Coverage / Promotion', 'Distribution of Wealth' as a couple of bullet points to start with and START AGAIN!!!!
  6. What's stunning about this whole affair is the lack of imagination and foresight. Couple that with our own clubs part in the steering committee - dearie fuckin me! Even if we were to be extremely generous they should all be shot for their lack of consultation and the absolutely chronic packaging and selling of this proposal. There are hints that there are money distribution enhancements in there - however they've been so poorly explained it's unbelievable. So a league of 16 provides too few games does it? Well you used a split to tailor the number of games in a 12 - could we not have a split in a 16 or 18. Suicide is the only word I can come up with to descrive it accurately
  7. Buy our Frauduct (nah fuck off ya cowards)
  8. Yep - I've come round to that way of thinking. As Steelboy points out on the other thread we're hanging on to the OF nipple for as long as they'll produce their poisoned milk. bottom line
  9. supporters could be directed via a link to a statement on the club website and there's no time like the present. i agree with the poster yesterday (weeyin i think) who said that the answers / statement may be less than informative / enlightening. however I think it's fair to challenge the senior management of the club to explain their thinking - as part of the six club steering group and as a club in our own right. This proposal directly affects the quality of the froduct we are being asked to continue support.
  10. The BBC discussion linked to from the Doncaster article is as interesting as this thread. Clicko You'll be hard pushed to find a supporter of a 10 team top flight. Does that mean that supporters are few and far between or that like Daniel O Donnell fans they're there but don't admit to it
  11. A couple of untruths in there
  12. We didn't really - when the media started to report that Brown was in the fram for the Dons job it was widely dismissed by all of us on here. Unfortunately these shitehawks have a nasty habit of getting the annoying ones right. i wouldn't be surprised to see Blackman in a Dons shirt.
  13. Aye that 'Brown for Aberdeen' story was pish
  14. Funnily enough he says that the fans asking for a bigger league are looking at one aspect in isolation - are they indeed Mr Doncaster you fucking pillock? Are you not looking at / gambling on the financial side in isolation - shiting yourself that 4 OF games are the salvation for all parties.
  15. the 'every game's a meaningful game' bollocks is being rolled out by Doncaster. But we've been here before - high stakes and repetition does not equal entertainment it equals park the bus fitba! Utter utter abyssmal (with the emphasis on abyss) shite
  16. The Casagolda joke was funny when we had a semblance of a positive run of form. Right now might be a serious waste of a wage.
  17. Saunders Out by the looks of it - McCall looking at either hutch or page as a replacement. Which kinda hints at Hateley in midfield and obviously looks like Blackman will be missing up front
  18. Motherwell were part of the six club focus group that put it forward.
  19. Can we just let the thread run without this stuff?
  20. Like the OP says though time for something to happen to let the fuckers see there's another hand feeding them unconditionally for years. Time that other hand slapped them on the (satellite) dish
  21. They've always been big - something to do with each of them being aligned with one of the two main religions in the land. Pretty sad but if we trace all this shit back to root cause - bang there it is - the big sectarian divide = the big revenue imbalance
  22. I disagree - when your less familiar the games more open. I believe its the over familiarity / cancelling out that's the problem - overall the standard of footballer is capable of providing a better product if theydidn't know each other inside out
  23. McCall making the right noises - good to see someone talking about giving the young guys a fair crack http://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2011/01/04/g...%98well-talent/
  24. I'm nearly there in putting the money awayfor next seasons ticket mate. However I can see my guitar amp getting upgraded instead. I can't believe these c***s can't see this is an OG
  25. But the number of teams dictates the number of times they playe each other. The majority of paying punters are sick to the back teeth of DundeeUfuckinited 6 times a season. It's the repetion. It's the over familiarity. It's the negative football. The lap dogs are shit scared of losing a home OF gate - yet at every ground in scotland the home fans stay in the house / pub as its on Sky or ESPN (which is basically a public servic organisation for old firm fans) and overall the gate (and income) is impacted. There are 16 - 18 teams that deserve a slice of the action and a better chunk of the games income. These are the guys (The SPL wanks - ourselves included) that should be coming up with innovative measures to promote attacking football and develop youth for the good of the national game, while at the same time distributing wealth and allowing teams to have an opportunity to breathe. Yet all they have done is preserve 4 OF clashes per season and satisfied the OF lap dog clubs that have zero ambition
