I'd agree with your point too fatcalf - i think there's decent ability in our squad - if only they were allowed to play in position and to their strengths. i can think of teams in the not too distant past that had very little to shout about. we've been pretty well served in recent times.

The SPl need to be a bit more 'intelligent' with the TV revenue. Right now they all take their share and invest it in the club then suffer falling attendances at live games. At the end of the day TV funds are not 'all' additional revenue instead there largely compensation for poor attendances. Like I said on the other thread - the best game of the weekend should be live. Not the OF away game wherever that falls. And the money should be used more innovatively or wisely by the SPL so that clubs could charge really low prices for live TV games.

The whole thing is beginning to bug me more and more. Blue Square will have to prove that a Motherwell player said to a member of the public (or a friend or family member etc) that he intended to get himself sent off. Even IF it gets as far as say linking calls on mobiles etc it means sweet fuck all. Look at the scenario of a player talking to a friend or associate innocently on the day of a game. "How will the game be tonight". "It'll be full on - they're riding high and are a big physical team - we'ro out to prove we can still do it without our manager we'll be getting stuck right in" "Aye see ya later - enjoy yer game". Now depending on whether the associate is a betting man their actions afterwards could go a number of ways depending on the odds being offered for a specific event. The betting agencies and Blue Square should be taken to the fuckin cleaners here - they've cast doubt on a player and have said nothing to shift the spotlight of blame that their actions have given the media license to pursue. If they want to be smart arses with their clever software / security alerts and the way in which they've followed this up by howling to the media at the first sniff of anything untoward, they should be banned from offering spot bet markets until the players name is cleared. They should be in limbo for the same length of time as Jenno. Wankers

Yogi vs McCall is interesting. I heard Yogi's interview yesterday and it kinda swayed me a bit to be fair. Aye he's a big lump of wid - but you can't disagree that he had Falkirk and Hibs playing some decent attacking stuff on the deck. He seems genuine enough which is something we've been lacking. I liked the working class town stuff as well. McCall 'may' have the contacts and talent spotting experience but there's more to it than that. Plus he has the experience as an assistant at Sheff U and as a manager in his own right at Bradford. However his time at bradford was pretty lack lustre - he finally threw in the towel because he couldn't buy a win. That's not to say that i think he'd be a disaster. But if it was down to Yogi vs McCall with a gun to ma heid - I'd vote for big numb face

The long term good of the club won't be served by going back to these two. I admit that some of the football under McGhee was great - but he failed miserably to demonstrate that he could source players on a budget and rebuild a team - which is an annual requirement round here. The job right now requires someone who has a proven track record of adding a smattering of players to the youth coming through - with the emphasis being on youth. Broon was failing miserably here in my opinion whilst being really successful in other ways. He was looking to bring in journeymen at the exlusion of the young guys. It's time for the team to be built to accomodate Saunders, Page, Hutch, Meechan, McHugh, Halsman, Quinn, Innes, Lawless Smith etc. I'd like to see a better balance of chasing results vs playing attractive football

I was watching the Man Utd vs Arsenal game the other night (or some other recent man Utd game) Darren Fletcher was picked up by the TV mic, never mind the cameras talking to the ref and the assistant. "Haw! - he's a fuckin c**t! haw you ya fuckin c**t, where's yer fuckin flag?" Oh how I laughed. You see and hear foul and abusive language from playes and officials every single game. We've seen Rooney and any other countless others particularly remember guys like Kris Boyd, Scott Brown being highlighted on TV coverage 'clearly' being foul and abusive to officials. By the letter of the law he was within his right to dismiss jennings - folk get that. but when it's been widespread in the game up to that point and the ref appears to tell him to get to fuck then folk are saying it's a bit harsh. How many games do you see / hear someone booked for dissent - when quite clearly foul and abusive language has been used? The point is that foul and abusive language is used all the time and people live with it - it goes unpunished more than it's punished. If we went by the letter of the law every game of football would end up 2 players vs 2 players

I think we forget about the whole affair and the scheming fuckers involved. all of us have been stitched up like a kipper by a man who portrayed himself as a wee gentleman who came out of retirement to help us out while we searched for a manager. he was initially grateful for a couple of games but then had it extended cos it was all going well. It was continually put across as some last enjoyable hurrah before he called it a day. He dropped us in the shit when, although it was obviously extended, basically he was here until we got someone else in. that was the agreement. he fucks off before we get a chance.
