  1. Still doesn't explain how its pathetic?? Get Ross County and Inverness travel every week, but when we have midweek games come into affect it should be catered for as best as possible. Inverness/Ross County vs St Johnstone/Dundee makes more sense than them vs Kilmarnock.
  2. What a ridiculous statement. Scotland may be a small country, but it's infrastructure isn't exactly cutting edge. Motherwell to Dingwall takes 4hrs minimum by car, that at least by train if you can tie up all your connections. A midweek 7.30pm kick off means folk would have to leave a 3pm to get there. To a lot of folk, thats a holiday/time off work same with Aberdeen to Motherwell - 4hrs minimum again, limited public transport as its boxing day. Simply fact is the scheduling of these fixtures will have a dramatic affect on attendance, so please enlighten me how complaining about it is "pathetic?"
  3. I think given the financial implications these games bring and the resources what they are in Scotland, the SPFL would have arranged the fixtures accordingly and evenly. They haven't, so we move on. Complaining about it in such a public manner plays right into the bigot brothers hands. What should have happened is all parties should have discussed prior to releasing the list. Terrible lack of planning and communication. Absolutely pish poor all round from SPFL, but expect nothing else given their previous. Us throwing a public tantrum is the wrong way to deal with it.
  4. Back? First time in top flight. Old Firm stuff is not ideal, but with fixture reversal it will flip next year and then we benefit and it was the current system. The think that the SPFL needs held to account for is the absolute ridiculous fixtures over the festive period, Aberdeen at Fir Park, us up at Inverness, Ross County at Celtic, etc. Essentially it systematically decreasing attendances with insane logic. Thats the real farce for me. And doubt anyone at the SPFL would have even thought about this to be honest - to busy getting priorities of the bigot brothers nailed down.
  5. Rangers/Celtic home games aside - the scheduling of us playing in Inverness & Dingwall midweek, along with a Christmas Eve game against Aberdeen is utter madness and makes no sense whatsoever. How can the SPFL complain about dropping attendances, poor away support, etc and then dish out this utter nonsense. Baffles me, but not in the slightest surprised given the special calibre of clown we have running our game.
  6. Congrats to 'Flow I was one of the fans who was worried/concerned when he got the General Managers job, but he has certainly proved me wrong over past two years with a lot of what he has done and the way he has went about his business. This new gig is his reward, giving him a more prominent and influential role at the club than he already had. Wish him all the best.
  7. Stand corrected. I saw 2 Fulham games last year and he played in both and looked solid in an otherwise lacklustre team. Shame for him, but imagine he will find another club easily enough.
  8. Where you seeing this news? He signed a 2 year contract with an option of a 3rd year in 2014 and was a regular last season for Fulham and one of their few positives in an other wise dismal decision. Be very surprised if Fulham are letting him go, rather than him deciding to move on to bigger and better things.
  9. Obviously missed the opening of my post completely there...Rangers will have signed a few players of better quality by then, Barton is a great capture for starters. They will be favourites with every bookies in the land to win, making us the underdogs. And as the start of my second line says, there is no reason why we can't win comfortably. Do me a favour and actually read my posts before you tear into them. Cheers.
  10. The Rangers we face in the League Cup will not be the Rangers we played in the play-offs last year, or even the won that took to the field in the Scottish Cup. I would consider us very much underdogs in this game, despite being the "seeded" team. Doesn't mean we can't win it comfortably though. They will be in more of a transitioning period than us and we will have had our pre-season under McGhee which should have us fit and sharp. Actually expect it to be a good game with the added bite from us keeping the orcs down in the play-off last year. The rest of the games we should be winning comfortably, but doesn't always play out that way as the smaller teams raise their game for these matches. The fact its so early into the season and they are 3 part time times should help prevent any banana skins.
  11. As a side note, Celtic's average wage is 25x that of Ross County. Going on the below article, Man City's average wage is 5x Celtic. Just goes to show that the financial gulf between them and rest of Scottish football is miles more than it is between them and top dogs in premiership that they always moan about. That reading suggests every time they lose a game its an embarrassment! http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/premier-league-wages-your-club-5729730 Back on topic, would genuinely be gutted if we lost Hammell and Lasley but fully expecting both to resign, especially now McManus has resigned. I agree he isn't the player he was, but think his influence on the young guys is irreplaceable.
  12. That tells you the story is bollocks - made up numbers by their usual third rate journalists.
  13. Fair play to Dundee for looking to improve their income, although definitely not a fan of it. Celtic are the big draw in America so they will be making money from it and goes against the rules of the game in terms of attendance money. Surely if Celtic get a cut of this then the same rule would have to apply for all games?
  14. I see Morton are doing a "vote for you kit" campaign with a choice of 5 possible options. I would love us to do something like that!
  15. I think it is definitely interesting and revamping what is a pretty pointless competition into something a wee bit different. Can understand some of the negativity associated with it, but very much for giving it a go to see how it plays out. Even like the penalty shoot-out bonus point idea. For years we have been crying out for changing up the League Cup and this a complete overhaul. Hopefully it is a success and the powers that be can look at bringing back a Europa League place for the winners, at the expense of the 4th placed team. That will surely generate more interest.
  16. Anyone that wants to sign him. That's buttons to a lot of the teams that will be looking at him, and with Dundee slapping a £1.5m price tag on him then will need to be that kinda money or he won't be going anywhere this summer. He's worth 750k for me - would say Moult & Johnson are worth £1m each. Problem is we always sell ourselves short. Johnson has could easily make it at higher level for me. Needs to work on consistency, but the ability is there. Hence why i said POTENTIAL to be a proper star.
  17. I just hope the club now has the stones - similar to Hibs/Dundee Utd/Hearts/etc - to slap proper prices on players heads. We also have been systematically poor at biging up our talent in the media. Perfect example is Greg Stewart at Dundee. Decent player, not a world beater, deserves a crack at higher level, Dundee have built him up a lot, slapped a £1.5m price on his head and said they are happy to let him leave for nothing next year. He will be sold this summer for circa 750k - 1m, which in my mind is his value. I would argue Moult is a better player already and Johnson has massive potential to be a proper star. Will be amazed if we get anything near half a million for either one of them, which is way below their value. We have always been a club that when it does sell, sells for buttons as "something is better than nothing."
  18. Aye but the fans will be the english/atlantic leagues problem and we won't have to listen to their bile. And overtime their ridiculous ways will be toned down by playing in a league where 99% of opposition fans don't actually give a fuck about them.
  19. 'Despise' both clubs in equal measures - Rangers have just had a lot more directed toward them of late cause of the liquidation, the play-of stuff from last year to all the stuff from the cup. Where do you start justifying it? I was at a proddy school but vast majority of my family are Celtic fans and I used to be called a Celtic fan by my mates at school and a Rangers fan by my cousins, etc - ie, "just a tim/h*n without the bus fare". Other than that, the paranoia, self-importance, ignorance, bigotry and the downright thick-as-fuckery of not only their fans, but the two clubs, actually causes my piss to boil at times. The folk that stay 5 mins from Fir Park, or Pittodrie, or Dingwall that are "die-hard" Celtic/Rangers fans pisses me off as well. Only country in the world where the team you support is determined by what type of the same religion you are, and where the team you support determines what your political position is. The allegiance of Rangers fans supporting England and Celtic fans supporting Ireland fuels it even more. Anytime the bigot brothers are playing I'm firmly supporting the referee in the hopes he sends as many of them off as possible - very rarely watching the game. I actually can't wait for the day they piss off to England or the atlantic league and leave us to it. Think Scottish football and Scottish society will be in a much better shape when/if that comes about.
  20. Not for me. Most definitely worth it financially - but when he signed for them he made it abundantly clear it had nothing to do with money and was about furthering his career. Would be more interested in Templeton and Nicky Clark who have also been released. Both for me are very decent players that never got a fair crack of the whip at Ibrox. Doubt we could afford either though and imagine all three will end up down south.
  21. Surprise, surprise but Nicky Law has been released by Rangers as they finally reach the top flight. Superb career move right enough...
  22. Just as a side note - our suspended punishment from last year surely can't be enforced if some sort of action is not taken here. Having one rule for one and a different rule for the other opens up a whole can of worms and I'd imagine we would have solid ground for a legal challenge should any further sanctions come our way. Think SFA should cover our costs for extra stewards at Saints game a good will gesture if they ain't gonna fine themselves!
  23. Will be surprised if there not at least one idiot to spoil it... Any fan that goes onto the pitch could end up with the club getting a serious fine or other sanctions and that could be the difference in keeping/signing a certain player when you are dealing with budgets as finite as ours.
  24. My first game was a 1-0 win against Hamilton in 1988/89. Quick Google would suggest the 1st April 1989.
  25. So it would - over thinking all this has friend my brain! Essentially the Partick/County game means more to us than the Dundee/Hamilton game.
