  1. Fair enough. Still got Artur Krysiak for Poland.
  2. Finally googled it and from what I can see online, seem to have covered all nationalities. Only one that has slipped the net is Sierra Leone - a guy called Ibrahim Kamara?? MY LIST: Algeria Khaled Kemas Antigua & Barbuda Zaine Francis-Angol Australia Scott McDonald Austria Mario Dorne/Franz Resch Belgium Esteban Cassagolda Central African Rep. Ange Oueifio Cyprus Angelis Charalambous Czech Republic Dan Twardzik Estonia Ojamaa/Anier Faroe Islands Gunnar Nielsen Finland Kai Nyyssönen/Mikko Kaven/Simo Valakari France Garcin/Soloy/Dubourdeau/Ferrere/Deloumeaux/etc Germany Lehman/Sengewald/Mensing Grenada Anthony Straker Haiti Abel Thermeus Hong Kong Davey Williamson Hungary Krisztián Vadócz Iceland Jóhannes Eðvaldsson Jamaica Humphrey/Daley/Robinson Morocco Said Chiba Namibia Shivute Netherlands Dijkstra, Matthei, Nijholt, Van der Gaag, Doesburg, etc New Zealand Michael McGlinchey Nigeria James Okoli Norway Marius Røvde Poland Lukas Jutkiewicz, Artur Krysiak Sierra Leone Ibrahim Kamara (???) Slovakia Maroš Klimpl Spain Roberto Martínez Suriname Benito Kemble Sweden Stefan Lindqvist USA Tommy O'Hara Yugoslavia Curcic, Krivokapic Plus the 5 home nations, makes 38 total nationalities. Genuinely thought it would be more than that!
  3. Great shout. Just googled to confirm. Actually thought it was in my head
  4. One that has been floating about in my head is a Norwegian goalkeeper from early 90's. Don't know if it's me reminiscing from an old game of Champ Manager though... Anyone?
  5. That was kinda the rule I was going for, but not like its a law or anything. I wasn't sure about Charalambous - I did see him come off as a sub once at Fir Park but may have been a friendly. No idea of Hermna Umbongo - who was he?
  6. Yes Correct CAR = Oueifio, Hong Kong = Dave Williamson Belgium = Casagolda, USA = Tommy O'Hara Just a miss type on my list regarding Austria - who can forget Mario Dorne and Franz Resch! Yes - the only reason I knew that is I actually met him in Hong Kong through a friend that stays there. Not sure about the islands - Ged Brannan got called up by Cayman Islands but FIFA deemed the call-ups invalid, so never counted it. Yes Technically, Montenegro doesn't count. Krivokapic would have been Montenegro nowadays, but in his time it was Yugoslavia. Same with Curcic, only he was Serbia.
  7. Nationalities I got if you want to work out the players - going to take England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales and Northern Ireland as granted. Algeria Antigua Australia Belgium Central African Republic Cyprus Czech Republic Estonia Faroe Islands Finland France Germany Grenada Haiti Hong Kong Hungary Jamaica Morocco Namibia Netherlands New Zealand Nigeria Poland Slovakia Spain Suriname USA Yugoslavia Add to that Sweden and Iceland that have been mentioned (plus the 5 home nations) gives me a current total of 36 nations.
  8. Yeah got both of them. Will counter with Central African Republic, Haiti, Hong Kong, Nigeria and USA....
  9. Yeah got them, although Cayman Islands doesn't count as Brannan never played for them. Fifa blocked the call ups they made. And technically, Serbia isn't one - Curcic and Krivokapic both count as Yugoslavia! Curcic would be modern day Serbia, Krivokapic Montenegro. No that's not who I'm thinking of, although I did not get Sweden!! Good shout. Before my time, but now you mention his name, it does ring a bell. Sweden and Iceland added then, now at 36.
  10. With it being International week and all, was thinking about the amount of different nationalities to feature in a 'Well top during our history. Thought I'd throw it out on here to see how many folk can name. I managed to get 34 different nationalities but I'm sure I will have missed a few. Rule of thumb I went by is they must have played at least one game for Motherwell, and need to name a player from that nationality. A few I could think of had dual nationalities, but stuck with their country of birth unless they were capped. A starter for everyone, remember Kampman signed an Icelandic player that hardly featured, but can't for the life of me remember his name.
  11. Cheers. Caught it now. Tend to avoid that rag like the plague. Take it the comment in question is: "He is working with Stephen on the Under-20s and, even now, trying to get another two or three players for the team because we haven’t got the young talent yet." I don't think that is as critical of the U20's as is being made out. Yes we have some talent there, but by no means have we got a full squad of players ready to make the step up and go on to be a stand-out. For me, we should always be looking to improve our youth players.
  12. Have I missed something....where was his comments made in regard to our young players?
  13. Potentially, he could be an absolute stand-out for us. Time will tell. Folk that are "underwhelmed", etc need to seriously get a grip. We have a player that by all accounts we are crying out for who we could likely never afford to buy outright due to transfer fee, wages and the fact he plays for one of the World top clubs! Regardless of whether or not he has a future at United, he must have had something about him to be there in the first place. The fact he was captain of the U20's, suggests he has leadership qualities and that will benefit us as well. For me, a great piece of business from the club.
  14. Craig Brown was Clyde manager for that game and Jock Wallace for us. Brown was there for around 12 years from mid/late 70's until late 80's. Nevin was signed by him for Clyde As for Saturday, an absolute must win. Anything else is not even remotely acceptable. Should have enough about us to do it, and Skippy and Moult scoring on Tuesday night hopefully give them a bit of confidence. No chance we will keep a clean sheet, but hopeful we can put more past a very poor Killie side than we will concede. 3-1 the good guys!
  15. Lasley by some distance. Covered for back four, particularly Law, a hell of a lot and worked his absolute arse off. Few worthy of a mention...Laing was decent enough, Ripley had a few decent stops and commanded the box well, Ainsworth was the real positive creative spark going forward until he was hooked in possibly one of the most bizarre substitutions ever. Law is simply not good enough for this level.
  16. I was at the game (a home game for me being from Perth and all) and I honestly believe without a shadow of a doubt we lost the game today on Baracloughs substitutions. We were on top and relatively comfortable with Ainsworth being our main attacking threat. Leitch was being readied to come on to shore things up, and then theu scored against the run up play. Leitch was told to sit down. 10mins later, Leitch came on for Ainsworth and was met with resounding boos from the fans. Bizarre decision. Once he went off, we lost control of the match and defeat was inevitable for me. Skippy was then replaced by Thomas and we resorted to long ball football that left Moult isolated and we posed zero attacking threat. Skippy was by miles the most ineffective man on the field today and he would have been first hooked every day of the week for me. When it went 1-1, the change was Skippy for Clarkson or Fletcher. Skippy was most wasted shirt today. Thought Taylor done OK, nothing of note either good or bad until his 2nd yellow (which I need to see again before making judgement). Moult put in a good shift, should have scored right after his goal. Lasley work helping out his team was first class. Ainsworth looked in the mood and was best player on park. Laing had commanding performance. Marvin and Skippy were poor, with the later really off the boil. His tantrum when he was subbed was embarrassing. If we had kept Ainsworth on and went 4-4-2, I believe we would have not lost the game. Rediculous decision. End of the day, next few games are already must win and I fear Barraclough may find more ways to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
  17. My local game, just round the corner from me, so always look forward to these games. Think we should be looking to get a result here. St. Johnstone are a much easier test than Aberdeen, Hearts and Dundee Utd for me. That said, written in the stars that the big handsome bastard will score against us. 2-1 the 'Well - Skippy and Moult with the goals.
  18. Finally proving that you don't have a clue when it comes to football. He was by a mile our best player today, and showing flashes of great link up play.
  19. Really tough game and all things point to an Aberdeen win, but you never know if football and hopefully get a response from Wednesday. If we take anything from this game its a bonus - last tough game before a run of 6 games against the teams likely to be bottom half of the league (Dundee aside). 2-1 to sheepy bastards!
  20. Take your point. All teams look to improve year on year and have to bed in new players. Difference is Hearts were flying last year and won Championship at a breeze and they only really lost Danny Wallace outwith their control. They are a team riding with confidence, getting stronger. Oshaniwa played all matches for Nigeria in Brazil 2014 and has real pedigree. The got Gavin Reilly from QotS with many teams reportedly interested and their new boy Juanma looks the business. We finished 11th, had the play-off, etc. Great result in it, but arguably we had a weaker squad. We then proceeded to lose almost a full squad, including a few we wanted to stay, and replace them with new faces. Our marquee signing was Skippy, who was actually wish us last season.
  21. Hearts are going to stroll to top 4 this season and I fully expected to lose last night given we are still bedding in new players, have injuries and were away from home. The optimism on here before the game was great to see, a bit of positivity around the supporters again. But I (rightly) feared it was more wishful thinking. When the result on paper becomes reality, folk start going nuts and back to the good old pessimism of this forum. It's early days, 3pts from opening 3games is not bad considering how bad our start is. Another very tough ask against Aberdeen, then we have a run of 6 games against the teams will be around us come the end of the season in the bottom half of the league. If by the time we face Celtic on 17th October we have less than 12pts, then I will be concerned. The reports of the poor performance are more concerning than the result. As I did not see the game last night, I can't speak for myself, but have been given the impression by two friends that were there that it was more Hearts not allowing us time to play.
  22. This chat is very premature. I was far from convinced from him last season and was firmly in the "if we get relegated, he has to go" camp. But he masterminded a brilliant 6-1 result against the orcs and as a result he gets a clean slate for this season. Calling for a managers head 3 games into a season in bewildering! I did not expect 3pts in Inverness given their achievements last year, Dundee Utd was a game with nothing in it and took an unfortunate OG to seperate the teams. Hearts are flying and a shoe-in for top 4 at very least this year (actually think they will finish 3rd). Folk have commented how hard our start is and are now complaining and calling for the managers head when we don't get results?! And for all the naysayers out there, I expect it will get worse this weekend as I really don't see us taking anything from Aberdeen, so if we do that will be a bonus and good result. If we start losing badly to Hamilton, Partick, Ross County, St.Johnstone and Kilmarnock then we should maybe ask questions, as they teams are our level - whether we like it or not. If we get top 6 this year, that will be a great result for this season.
  23. This will be a tough game, and would gladly take a point right now. As others have mentioned, they aren't settled at the back yet, but look very strong going forward. Think we will both score, but my head says Hearts will just edge it 2-1. Of course, hope I'm wrong.
  24. See he's Northern Irish, so maybe something with the Robinson/Craigan connection.
