  2. I ment in realtions that we are still playing roughly the same as we were 10years ago when there was a much higher standard on offer. But take your point about lower price = less money = even lower standard.
  3. For me, it's a simple fact of folk feeling the pinch with living costs on the up and Scottish Football being FAR TOO expensive in general for what's on show. Also, as folk get older and move away, work & life interfere with football - and with the xbox/playstation/internet generation more and more kids just aren't interested in going to football. And then you have the amount of live TV games and silly kick off times. The club has done very well to try build numbers, but it's a tough job. One thing that hasn't been tried that may work is a switch to summer football. Failing that, only a massive sponsorship deal where clubs can reduce prices by 30-40% percent and not struggle for cash will bring the attendances back up.
  4. As in talking to ourselves about how shite he was playing and he was a wasted jersey and we couldn't understand why Davies insisted on playing him.Not screaming at the top of our voices at him!
  5. On a unrelated note... My cousin and I were giving dogs abuse to Derek Adams while he was having an absolute mare one game - nothing vile or personal. Turns out his folks were sitting right in front of us, and after 10/15mins of our negative comments, Auld George turned round to tell us to pipe down, and my uncle told him to shut it as we were paying fans entitled to our opinions! George (then employed by the club) informed us he would have us banned! My uncle dared him too and then joined us in berating Derek. As a result of that, I've always never rated Adams and never liked him one bit! As for Hateley - as others have said, decent right back and we were his level. Think Ramsden is better. He made the decision to leave what was a good thing for him, and it hasn't worked out for him. So what. If it wasn't for his dad there would have been zero media hype over him.
  6. Going on form of the two teams, got to say a draw. But if we have ant hopes of top 6 I'd say this is a must win game for us as it would stop the rot and pick us up.
  7. Sorry, but not for me. Would much prefer one of our young boys got the chance and build for next season.
  8. Ojamma for me. Law (even though he's a wee fud now) 2nd and then Humph!
  9. Where we go from here, is we pick up and get on with it! Sometimes, the negativity on here puts me off coming on the forum! Yes we have been poor of late, yes we had a shocker at Albion that is one of our worst results and yes we our season has sorted flattened out...but it's not the end! We too easily forget that we are a small club with a small budget and have consistently punched way above our weight of late. We have had an amazing 5/6 year period of glory (maybe out with the cups) and we are now just on a down side. I have every faith we will pick ourself up in time. Yeah, I'd like to see more fight from our boys and more passion - it's a bit discouraging. However, we have lost some really big players this summer and maybe not got the best out of our replacements. Melvin's post is absolutely spot on - drop the dead weight and the players we can't afford (Ainworth, Anier, Faddy?) now and bring in the youngsters. Look at how it's revolutionised Dundee Utd this season. If we finish top 6 this year it will be a good season for me. Bottom 6 is disappointing, but not the end of the world. We are in no danger whatsoever of relegation and we should use the remainder of the season to bleed our youngsters and see what they are made of - which will reap massive rewards going forward and build a platform to sell the best players on and build a core for a team. Despite how shite it might feel being a 'Well fan just now - it's still the only team for me!!
  10. Sorry....it's not fair play to them! This should have been done ages ago! Yeah, they have done the right thing in banning all 128 fans - but as been mentioned, a lot of fans were moved and I have a friend who was not in "his seat" as it was occupied by Green Brigade. Will he be banned? At the end of the day, Celtic should have shut down the GB section at Parkhead ages ago! But they bottled it and fuelled the GB to become more and more rebellious. Their antics have been ridiculous for years and years, yet it took the carnage on Friday for Celtic to finally act! Love the mention of "great club" in that statement - but for me they have zero claim to that as the have been tarnished by a percentage of their fans this season thanks to the trouble this year. As for the next game against Celtic at Fir Park, I'd be expecting a reaction from the police and stewards - searching every supporter that comes in and having a much larger presence in the stand similar to our love street treatment! And I hope the SFA absolutely hammer them for this. But they won't...and give it a month before they overturn the ban on the 250 (aye right - much more than that) relocation at Celtic Park and the media forget about it.
  11. Again McCall falls down when it comes to ganes that really matter. What a horror result today and think wveryone involved with the team should be having a long look at themselves! Expext an apology from McCall in due course.
  12. First game I've been at in a while and have to say leaving feeling totally embarrassed. We had a man advantage for 80mins and not making that count is shambolic for me! Gutted as well...had a great chance to get to final with the teams left, but bottled it. Final point...Bob McHugh! Dont see as many games as I'd like these days but he is absolutely murder ever time I see him. Hey-ho....its all the shit that comes with being a 'Well fan I guess...and while its shitty now, I will get over it!
  13. Happy with this signing. Sounds like he is the exact type of player we are needing. Interesting to see how the injection of a bit of pace changes the dynamic of the team. Even if he's not a world beater, could prove to be an shrewd signing if it allows the best out of Faddy.
  14. For me the main problem is the Champions of Scotland were playing the Champions of Sweden in a pre-pre qualifier for the "Champions" League. UEFA are corrupt beyond belief and are biased toward the big teams and leagues. For me, Champions League should be league winners only. EUROPA should be 2nd place and cup winners, with cup winners getting bye to 2nd round and it being a straight up free for all draw on them all like all other cups! Until that happens - or something other to level the playing field - we will always be European whooping boys im afraid.
  15. I'm in favour of split gates, but maybe more along the lines of 80/20 split. I'm sure there would be less opposition to that. Maybe there's a case to put the 20% into a pot that gets split evenly between the 12 teams at the end of the season?
  16. But this is all built on Doncaster and the Scottish Media's propoganda that there will be NO DEAL WHATSOEVER with SKY, ESPN and Sport 5. But rumours coming from all 3 say there will be, but maybe at reduced terms! So I'm sorry, I'm not buying that £17m figure. Aye it might drop to £10-12m without "The People" but with that figure split better, rather than half to the Old Firm and half to the rest (know thats not right figures, poetic license) then it would be a significant less hit to all SPL clubs apart from Celtic. It's grade A scaremongering from our supposed independent governing bodies!! Always emphasising and exageratting the negativies and ignoring the many more positivies!! More corrupt than Serie A!!! Anything other than Rangers Newco to Div.3 is a failure of justice, sporting integrity, decency and the game is over! A threat to cancel SKY will have no impact at all for me, but I do admire the ambition. Doesn't apply to me as I'd never give the fuckers my money in the first place!
  17. From document supposedly sent to SFL clubs.... The fact that is coming from our supposed independent govering body is nothing sort of a full blown utter disgrace!!! I've had enough of this crap, really!! The SFA, SPL, SFL and Rangers football club can all go to hell!! If this comes to pass I WILL HAVE NO ASSOSSIATION WITH SCOTTISH FOOTBALL AT ALL!!!!!! This redifines the term "morally corrupt!" Hope the SFA (with Campbell Ogilive, one of the culprits of the EBT scheme on their board) are proud of themselves!
  18. This is unbelievable!!! In my eyes, this is WORSE than keeping the club formerly known as Rangers in the SPL because it is the govering body of this country who are doing all they can to accomodate a club guilty of cheating!! Rangers in Div. 1 = Scotland football is dead!
  19. I disagree. As soon as Rangers are out the rest of the SPL clubs will use the first opportunity to change the voting rules to 8-4 and change financial distrubutions. And there won't be a dam thing Celtic can do about it other than through a tantrum! Not overly supportive of the 50/50 split for gate recipts, maybe a 80/20 kinda thing. However, in a SPL without Rangers and fairer voting passed if 8 SPL clubs want a 50/50 split, it happens! End of!! The problem I see if the other 11clubs wanting the same thing. I'm sure they will all be behind voting reform and fairere financial distrubution, but other things might be more closely contested. But for me, getting Rangers out the SPL will be like having our own football....its no longer the Old Firms right to call the shots! The roles will be reversed, and like wee have done for the last ten years, they either like it or lump it.
  20. Good to hear that our club is doing the right thing. Fans > Money
  21. Thats the true prize with Rangers getting kicked out....for the first time since the SPL was formed the rest of the non-Old Firm clubs tell Celtic whats gonna happen, not the other way around! If proposals for split gates are put in and 11 clubs vote, then Celtic have NO CHOICE but to go with it!
  22. Don't see this happening to be honest. You really think a Div. 3 Rangers would want to play a friendly against Celtic when the diffrence in squads could be astronomogical leaving only a proper hiding as the only logical result? Plus....would the authorities sanction a friendly between the bigot brothers?
  23. Maybe your right.... Quick digging has told me that Rangers beat Clyde 4-1 in the Scottish Cup on Thurs 15th Feb 1996. Whether he, Laudrup and Gascoigne played....I don't know.
  24. I totally get that and accept it. Was more trying to say "non-essential" reapirs. Also a lot that has to be done to meet UEFA regs for hosting European football. Like if we are paying anything at all towards these new dugout chairs, decorating the corporate areas when it's not needed, etc.
  25. Never picked up on that! Gazza joined the year he left! Brilliant!!
