  1. Yeah cause every media outlet got together and came up with the exact same figure! If the club were actively trying to sell then leaking a price to the press is a perfect move...superb PR. And may help you to know that not all off the record comments are reported as "a source close to the club".
  2. And I will say it crystal clear again... To me, I think a fee of £750k is fair given the current transfer market and what other clubs get in fees. I would have taken £500k with sell ons happily. That is not my issue. The original offer from Oxford was deemed miles short of our valuation and he would not be sold cheaply. Immediately after McGhees press conference where this was said, the £1m figure was flying around on all news channels strongly suggesting an off the record comment of value. The club then released a superbly worded statement that reiterated our stance following the transfer request. For that to equal a fee of £350k proves that all that chat from club was absolute bluster and yet again we have been bullied into taking a much lower offer for one of our key players. Pushovers. If that is the case, we are a laughing stock and the fans who are being asked to buy into the club are being fed a steaming pile of shite. Now if it turns out to be closer to the 600-700k mark, thats comprising given the transfer request meant an unhappy player. The fact is we conveniently don't know. Yes its a good turn around for a player that cost ys buttons, but people clearly forgetting the huge step up in quality between conference and SPFL so naturally value increases. I have no issue with hin leaving and its a pleasamt change to get some sort of fee for one of our sellable assets, but the club has potentially backed down spectacularly and that is my gripe. Leaving it as that.
  3. Seriously?? The whole "IF THAT'S TRUE" would imply I'm commenting based on info another poster has offered up.
  4. Steelboy cleared it up. McGhee said Oxford was miles off our valuation. Next day all papers had £1m, so has come from an off the record comment.
  5. If thats true...nothing has changed despite all the bluster. Still an absolute pushover of a club and gives me the absolute fear for fan ownership.
  6. I am happy with £500k. But when the club gives us all the guff about Oxford being miles of our valuation, he wouldn't be sold below budget and Oxford can't afford him paints us as an absolute laughing stock and total pushovers. Club could release fee like the 300k was released and put it all to bed. Fact they haven't tells me that its probably a complete back down.
  7. Cause Oxford offered 300k, we wanted a million and given previous, I know who is more likely to have budged. Not releasing fee incolved suggests to me is likely 400k and we don't want other clubs to know how much of a pushover we are. And when the fan ownership model is being pushed...this us exactly the info paying society members shoul know surely? So aye indeed.
  8. Undisclosed means likely we have bent over once again. Surely the Well Society members will be notified as we are custodians and owners of the club?
  9. Nothing wrong with selling below - start at £1m, settle on £700k with a sell on. Going to less than half though? What salesman would do that? Never said a failure - just means that other clubs will know we are an absolute soft touch and all our sell-able assets will be valued much lower in any potential suitors eyes due to previous. It's the way it has been at Motherwell for years and years and we were told quite clearly that it wouldn't be that way anymore, we'd no longer been a soft touch. Less than £500k for any move for Marvin and we will have proved that statement a steaming pile of pish at the first hurdle! Did McGhee not mention the £1m when he said Oxford didn't have enough money to buy him at the price?
  10. Nope...it's because Hamilton aren't absolute bottle merchants that slap a price on a player and then take less than half that. All ifs and buts, but letting a player we have (rightly or wrongly) priced at £1m for around 300K plus add-ons is basically forfeiting our right to get any decent fee for any player going forward! Even accepting a deal at 500k is drastically backing down for me.
  11. If he ends up going for around the £300k mark previously knocked back, then we will look like an absolute cowboy outfit and some questions will have to be asked. Tony Andreau mentioned there...he was a £1m player, so is Marvin. And folk saying he is shite now the move away is looking likely are miles out. While not irreplaceable by any means, he is one of our better players.
  12. Fake account that only appeared today! Oxford don't have the money we are looking for.
  13. Just sold him in my FM16 game for £1.5m to Birmingham on deadline day 2016. Heard it here first.
  14. Our Gino is getting roasted on Twitter and despite his account being largely dormant since 2012, he's on a crusade to block anyone and everyone on twitter who identifies as a 'Well fan. What an absolute banger.
  15. I applaud the club for standing firm here and I don't think we should be selling him on the cheap. For me circa £750k is a reasonable value for Marvin given he has 2 years left on his contract, his age and the going rate for players of similar ability in Scotland. If this was Dundee Utd or Hibs it would no doubt be double the figures we are talking. If a team wants him, they will have to pay our valuation. Simple. His agent is miles out - although maybe not as much as Steelboy - and first time I've ever heard an agent talk down one of his clients! If/when he goes, he will do so with my full blessing and thanks although anything less than £500k and all the talk from the club about playing hardball will prove to be a steaming pile of shite.
  16. Surely we would have some sort of legal recourse here should our "suspended" sentence ever come into play again?! Can't say I'm surprised at SFA's decision and statement though...sad indictment of the idiots running our game.
  17. Personally think they both look good and home one without sponsor is the first must buy shirt for me in a long time. Only concern, surely any company sponsoring a team would want there branding on all replica shirts. As they are not, I wonder if they have negotiated a cut price deal? At a time when every penny is a prisoner the delay in the shirt arriving and sponsor delays causes some concern over how effective our commercial dept is.
  18. He has a terrible habit of deleting tweets that don't turn out to be true and has posted many times things that never came to pass. Sure he was the source of Van Der Gaag had been offered the deal as manager before Baraclough. That said, I personally think Skippy will be away. Just wait until a more concrete source confirms.
  19. Doesn't really matter to me to be honest, friendlies are generally horrific viewing and their soul purpose is to get some match sharpness.
  20. Can we bring back the vote down buttons please?
  21. You were the one calling for me to look at fixtures that don't exist, so you must be riddled with common sense then! "Pathetic" chat indeed!
  22. Where did I say it wasn't fair? Where did I mention Aberdeen? Where did I complain about going places? All I'm calling for is a little common sense. Motherwell to Dingwall is not a 3hr drive - it's 185miles, 102 of it on a road where you will be doing well to get above 50mph, and its predominantly not a dual carriageway/motorway. And where are the Newcastle fixtures you were talking about?! Doubt they will get scheduled to play Brighton midweek.
  23. Again, still not really explaining why it's pathetic. Happy to go anywhere for a 3pm on Saturday, that's the norm. Sending a central belt team to Inverness/Dingwall or vice versa midweek when the midweek fixtures could be scheduled to accommodate as best as possible is nonsense. Inverness/Ross County vs Dundee/St. Johnstone is a much better option. If you would like to tell me where you got a look of the Newcastle fixtures for next year two days ahead of anyone else in the world that would be great, thanks, and I will genuinely have a look at what travelling looks like. And Germany, France, England, Spain and Italy all have far superior infrastructure than us and are all bigger countries than us, what point are you trying to make?
