  1. I usually back much of what McGhee does but on Friday night he made an absolute arse of the starting line-up, his tactics and the substitutions he made. If it was our game plan to sit off Hearts, soak up their pressure, allow them possession and hit them on the break, then why oh why, did we start with three strikers and play one on either wing? It's almost as if he is frightened to start Moult or Skippy as substitutes...pick two of them to start and play an extra midfielder ...losing Cadden, was a hefty kick in the chuckies, as he was our 'out ball', he frustrates me but their is no doubting his ability to gather the ball in our half and take it 40yards towards the opposition goal, replacing him with Lucas ( who reminded of Jake Taylor by the way), was an incredibly strange decision...Ainsworth for me was the obvious replacement capable of taking the game to Hearts. Everyone is looking for a scapegoat (other than McGhee, who many are desperate for reasons to have a dig at), Samsons confidence is clearly fucked and that lack of confidence in himself is now transmitting itself through the rest of the defence, I'm not sure if Brill is the answer but we'd be as will giving him a shot...those slaughtering Hammell, should take a wee step back and remember that he came up against Nicholson and Paterson with absolutely nobody playing left midfield, he was on a hiding to nothing. Our midfield is pedestrian at best, I've said it for over 2 Seasons, now Lasley is done and needs replaced, he was never much of a player to start with but is clearly past it now, hopefully McHugh coming back can sort us out in there. McGhee needs to get back to basics and stop trying to shoehorn his 'best players' into positions that make them look like fucking haddies
  2. I feel privileged to be part of this illustrious group of uberfans
  3. 7 years on and the Albo10 are still getting under the skin of the 'Im a better fan than you, Brigade'...
  4. Not sure...Canning seems to think his stature plays against him
  5. I don't think there is anyway that Imrie can be punished...it's impossible to prove it was deliberate, even though we all know that it was. The last player I can remember doing something was similar was Gio Van Bronkhurst (or was it Barry Ferguson?) umpteen years ago, and skelped an old-timer clean on the coupon. 'One' (not taking the blame) of our fans had skelped one of their players on the face after the ball had came into the stand and the player tried to retrieve that ball...Imrie today though fired the ball into an area where many kids were sitting. Not an animal, just a fucking idiot. As for Crawford...if he is a 'well fan we should be pulling out the stops to get him signed up
  6. Any neutral at today's match must have been enthralled by it...there was always something happening, end-to-end, 100mph stuff, 6 goals, some hefty challenges and a wee w****r playing leftmid for the visitors. First word on Ali Crawford, unlike most Motherwell fans, I've actually seen a fair bit of this boy having taken a load of cuddly, wee Accies games in over the years and for me he has always stuck out like a sore thumb, I've never seen him hiding...the fact that the Accies fans don't fully appreciate him, says more about their inability to understand football than anything else. The boy is quality, in an otherwise awful team and I'd take him at Fir Park in a heartbeat. As others have said, that 1st half hour was reminiscent of the stuff we seen from McGhees team during his first tenure, we were unplayable all over the park, first to every ball and made Accies look like the Junior team that their stature implies...Bowman was terrific and the big haddy with the beard couldn't get near him, but by f**k we've missed Louis Moult, the lad had the ball in the net 4 times in 20 minutes, his movement was fantastic....Cadden, Clay, Lasley and Skippy backed these 2 up well. But, as with McGhees team of 2007, we seemed to either take our foot of the pedal, run out of gas or more probably, Accies changed their system and kind of got their shit together and the remainder of the match was much more nervy than it should have been, with Accies having some very decent opportunities and us also carving out some decent moves too, though I was a tad puzzled by McGhee not taking the opportunity to break up play by using his subs, particularly when the like of Skippy and Bowman were clearly shagged. As I said, it must have been a smashing match for any neutral to view. Last word on the son of a mattress...I'm not one to get raging at a player who gives some verbals back, or even flicks the fingers at a crowd of punters who have berated him time and again, with a few obscene chants that are particularly personal, and I've always had an admiration for Imrie, both as a player ( there was a time when I'd have taken him at FP) and as a guy that seemed to revel in his villain status at Motherwell, even though it's probably started due to him being a relative local and some fans of ours having known him as a kid etc, but today he let himself down badly...he was having some verbals with some boys at the front of the East Stand, Cooper end, and when his opportunity came, he fired the ball full force into the area that the lads were sitting. The ball never hit anyone, but struck and broke a seat next to a young girl who looked about 4 or 5. He knew what he was doing and his actions were an absolute disgrace for a seasoned professional and a coach of youngsters, I'd like to think someone at Accies will be having a word in his ear about his conduct.
  7. I thought Bowman was outstanding in the 1st half...tired badly in the 2nd and should have been subbed
  8. It said...'Hamilton Accies...Pride of Lanarkshire' Funniest banner I've seen for a while
  9. I dont think there are many in the Motherwell support who take either particularly seriously
  10. Shaun Fagan coaches one of the youth teams at Accies these days
  11. Derek Adams the last one from the lower league that 'did a job'? Not sure what that job was half the time, but he certainly had longevity if nothing else
  12. Higdon was outstanding for us...anyone who suggests otherwise is at it
  13. If we've had a better goalkeeper in our history than Darren Randolph, then they must have been some goalkeeper. Randolph wins it hands down for me, best I've seen by a mile
  14. We dont seem to be interested in taking a chance on players from our own lower leagues
  15. That dirty bastard McGhee in charge of our Official Twitter?
  16. Dont be shocked or surprised, if we use whatever money comes into the Club today for avenues other than that of boosting our squad
  17. Seeing what you want to see mucker...why would McGhee want to lose one of his (on his day) best players, unless 'cajoled' into doing so by the powerbrokers at the Club, we all know the club needs the cash, so to lay the blame (if there is any blame to be handed out) at McGhees door is poor in my opinion. He's far from perfect, but he is a more than competent manager at our level I've got a shite memory, and not much of a statto these days, so can't think of any profits made as you describe
  18. Agreed...it was meant in the nicest possible manner though, clearly if we weren't a 'selling club' we'd be delighted to keep him, but we're not. Our support loves criticizing our Club...to my mind they've gone about this thing the right way, unfortunately, a) nobody has taken the bait and b) the player has had his head turned and acted like a fanny through an agent
  19. My biggest irk, from your original comment was how you blamed McGhee, when clearly this is a Club effort to get rid of Marvin... ...ive said for weeks, hes worth no more than £500k, but the Club are obviously going to go in much higher than that as a starting point, the fact that so many of our fans are daft enough to believe our own press, isnt the Clubs (or McGhees) fault.
  20. The English have been hyping players up for years, whether at Club level or the media fawning over their International team to the point that everybody believes they are the best players on the planet... Scottish clubs have started doing it too, Dundee United and Hibs have a bit of a track record where this is concerned, as do Celtic in recent years. Steelboy is at it, if he doesnt think that Motherwell as a Club haven't been trying to drum up a bit of interest in one of our sellable assets.
